For the past 2 1/2 months I have had ringing (tinnitus) in my right ear, I've had multiple visits to my primary care doctor and an ENT. When they finally arrived at the diagnosis of TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) I came to see Dr Villarreal right away. I had already been treated with antibiotics, steroids and had special ear plugs made but the tone and frequency of the ringing seemed to be escalating instead of getting better. After one visit the ringing seemed a little quieter that same night and the next day I heard the sound of silence all day for the first time in almost three months! Dr. Villlareal is suppeerr perfect and does such a great job at healing all aspects of what's going on--not just trying to superficially make the problem better. I was having some itense scapula pain and my muscle was freaking out. I am a teacher and since we transitioned to online classes (COVID-19), I found myself in front of the computer 6-8 hours a day. It took a toll on my wrists and I started experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome. My hands and arms would get numb and the pain got so bad that I could not pick up objects with my hands. I have a history of hip pain and decided that getting an adjustment might be a good idea. Today I am getting treatment for my neck and shoulders which have been feeling stiff and painful. ... I FINALLY got out of my way and went to see a Chiropractor ‍ today. Turns out I don't have Tennis Elbow like my primary care doctor told me I had. I have Subluxation or Dislocation of the Radial Head causing pain in the Radius and Ulna. This was confirmed within the first 15 minutes of my visit by doing two simple tests specific for Tennis Elbow, that I passed with flying colors. If you're wondering why I hadn't seen a Chiropractor sooner, there's 3 reasons: 1). I thought Chiropractors only worked on the back. 2). When I learned they did more than that, I was scared to go because of a terrible experience I had back in 2014 pertaining to my back. 3). I didn't want to spend the money on something I was certain wasn't going to help me. The lesson- One bad experience does not translate to future bad experiences. BE OPEN MINDED. Sometimes you need some extra help and you should explore all options instead of writing them off as if you already know what the outcome will be. Today's visit was awesome and left me feeling extremely hopeful. I had several treatments that included electric current therapy (I was already doing this at home), ultrasound therapy, massage therapy, some adjustments, strength tests and cupping (shown in picture & looks nasty). My elbow already feels A MILLION TIMES BETTER!! I wish I would've made this appointment months ago when my friend, Andrea, told me how a chiropractor helped her with her knee. I've been suffering in pain since 12/15 and haven't been able to go to bootcamp because I thought I knew best. ‍ I WAS WRONG. Flat out WRONG.
