This repair turned out to be more complex which required more work and time.  The team worked with efficiently and expertise.    Clean up was  better than they found it!  Andre and Sergie were very likable and easy with.  Overall cost was more than fair.  I've worked with many contractors and I put TrueWest (one word) at the top of my list.

The original bid was approximately $44,000. The job ended up costing us $84,000. Their business plan is awful. Tim provides 15 minutes of instruction to about 6 young men. it's evident that many of them lack construction experience. There ARE several guys who are great, and awesome to work with. We often found some of the crew wandering around, not clear how to proceed with whatever they should have been doing. The lead crew guys are only abut 21 years old. Some of the crew would be hanging out at their truck. Of course we were charged for most of this. The roof has been over the deck for slightly over a year now. During the winter and rainy season, water poured onto a good size section of the deck (10ft x 10ft). Water also dripped down in the middle of the deck. We had a new roof placed on the main house 4/23, and Axis roofing (great company!) let us know that a metal end piece was not in place on one end, where all the water was pouring down. Tim said that he would check out the roof, assured us that the end piece would be put in place, and that there would be no charge. We were billed $850. I called Tim, and was laughed at, and he said, "Ok, we won't charge you". HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK. This company is not competent or ethical.

Dec 16, 2020, Hired Mike Howard to repair structural damaged to my home caused by extensive dry rot…read moredamage. This was not a trivial job. The dry rot had compromised a main structural corner beam which supported the second story. The repair would first require building a temporary support to hold up the second story while removing the damaged support beam and replacing all of the dry rot wood. The repair process required first coordinating with a structural engineer to design a repair plan and then with the Snohomish County office to issue a repair permit. Mike was very helpful through the entire process. Mike was confident that he could perform the repair safely and within code without an engineering drawing, but suggested that the drawing would likely be required for the county to issue the permit. I decided to get the engineering drawing and Mike was right. The county flat out said that this repair required an engineering review and drawing. I told Mike I would hire him for the job, but only after I saw and understood what the repair plan entailed. Mike met with the engineer to discuss the repair job and then Mike outlined for me exactly how he would complete the repair. While listening to Mike explain the repair process it was apparent to me that he completely understood the structural design of a home. Having a contractor with this type of experience and knowledge was the only way I would go. Mike was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of my questions with integrity and no BS. I decided to take the 2 days off to watch the work performed. Mike had no issues with this. He discussed the work while it was in process and I always felt comfortable with his decisions and confidence. The work was done in accordance to the engineering drawing and the permit was signed off and closed without any issues. The images show the before and after work, minus the exterior wall board nailed up. I decided to repair the drywall and brickwork myself. Thanks for a wonderful job and experience Mike.

We hired Mindsight Metal to build and install railings on 2 sets of steps (3 railings) on a raised…read moredeck at our home. The owner, Grant Johnson was very responsive. He arrived as scheduled to evaluate, measure and prepare the estimate, and he brought samples of his work. He also made several excellent recommendations for enhancing safety and appearance. His estimate was quite reasonable for this type of custom fabrication and installation. We accepted and he arrived to begin work as agreed. After meticously fitting and tack welding, he took the rails back to his shop for finish welding, then out for powder coating. During this time he kept us informed of the status, and delivered and installed the rails when promised. The quality of his finished product and the installation far exceeded our highest expectations and Grant was personable, professional and very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Mindsight Metal for railings and custom metal fabrication.

He later,(on the day they arrived and I had asked him about it) quoted me $1,500, which I was willing to pay He resent me pictures he had previously sent me regarding the second job and has not followed up. It was an important safety component for me and I found it disappointing that it seemed to be dismissed. I know workmen want big jobs today and that is why I didn't want it as a secondary. Communication failed, or Dylan didn't want the job. Either way, I should have been told. Dylan did follow up with texts or phone calls related to the primary rail installation job.
