We've used this company at canyon lake twice and had zero issues. Recently we rented from the Saguaro lake location and were accused of damaging the propeller which added $100 extra to our bill. He said it would need to be sent all the way to Havasu for repair. Which doesn't even make sense. Everyone looked at each other very confused because we didn't do anything that would have scraped it like they claim. I feel like somehow we were tricked when inspecting the propeller the first time (I wasn't present, my husband was). I would caution renting a boat here and be prepared to pay extra. read more

This company is under new management and the numbers listed on the worldwide web are inaccurate as listed. We called and got a weird answer and sometimes no answer when dialing their number as they have a new number, but not listed according to the new owners who were working that day at Lake Sajuaro. When we did arrive we went down to the place to inquire about renting a pontoon for 1-2 hours only to find out that they were under new management as well as all the pontoons were rented out for the day even though two large pontoons and four others were sitting docked at the place of business. I asked if we could rent them for an hour or two and their response was that they were rented already and were checked out for the day and the people who reserved them were not here as yet, but they that they have all day to check them out. I asked, but what if they don't show, their response was they will show and they have all day to check in. I replied, "Okay, well if I were you, I would change your number that appears online on Yelp, and on google maps as the number are incorrect. They agreed they were wrong and needed to be changed at a later date. I said, "Well, you might do more business if the numbers were corrected and I wouldn't have had to call wondering if you're open, closed, or wasted my trip out here and could have gone elsewhere to rent a pontoon." The new owners didn't seem to care what anyone was saying at this point and we left. The facts were that we went on the Lake Cruise ship and had a wonderful time on that which was $26 a person. Great deal of information was provided by the your company and the day was not lost to the other business whom I would be wary about renting from given the new ownership and how they do business. There were those same pontoons not rented docked when we took off at 12pm and the pontoons were still sitting there when we got back from the noon Cruise around the lake well worth it btw. Disappointing I might add that we couldn't have taken one of the 6 pontoons sitting there making no money for 1-2 hours and we even ate at the restaurant on-site and it was very busy but good food, hot, and worth eating there for lunch but it was a bit spendy $$ but food was good and delicious. read more

Super great place to escape some of the heat! Staff is friendly and help you understand where the best places to kayak. My wife and I kayaked out to one part of the lake and just floated and put our feet in. So relaxing! One minor note is that it is some what difficult to find the rental office. It is near the end of the dock. read more

If you decide to rent from them MAKE SURE YOU INSPECT THE PROPLLER VERY, VERY CLOSELY. Also take a picture. Make sure you can see all 3 prop blades in their entirety. What they did to me was show 2 of the 3 blades when checking out and the third blade was hidden on the under side of the spindle. When i turned it in the prop was magically damaged and I had to pay $100 or so. Then they make you feel like you're insane and wreckless even though you know you didn't bottom the prop out. They make you leave a signed CC deposit so there is no recourse and they charge what they want. Don't be a sucker! Just avoid renting their boats altogether. You may end up paying for a prop whether you broke it or not and you will get treated like crap. read more

Spring /2020 Brought my ski boat all the way from lake Powell to get serviced here! It was worth the trip! At Lake Powell you do NOT want to breakdown up to 160 miles from the marina. As usual my favorite mechanic JIM did a complete once over and fixed many issues with no problem at a reasonable price. Bringing your boat here is comforting knowing that JIM is a master mechanic. As always he was happy to show and explain what issues could be corrected so I can enjoy boating the way it should be. If you ever move JIM, Please let me know where so I can fallow you. We rented with family at Saguaro and the experience was fine. We then had some friends coming into town so we decided to rent a pontoon at Canyon Lake. The experience was even better. From the reservation to check in to the return all was good. Especially Jacob who was there. Extremely polite and helpful. The Lake did not seem crowded and every one else having family fun. I think some pontoons have little tables which makes snacking easier. Anyway would go back for sure. If we ever won the lottery would love to have a private boat at that Marina. Boat rental was fine, until we came back and were accused of damaging the propeller blade by hitting ground. We were a group of experienced boat people and were very careful with our pontoon boat, so we weren't about to pay this crook. The scam goes like this: the operator warns you beforehand that they have just painted the propeller (which is already beat to hell by the way) and then when you return he points to scratches in the paint and claims that is proof of running aground. The spray paint is probably applied very quickly and without a primer, so just about anything could scratch it, even the force of regular use. Maybe this an isolated incident, but I'd be careful if he tries this 'painted propeller' line on you and take a closer look or have them run the engine and spin the prop before you take possession. read more

We drove in from Phoenix and rented same day. We got a double kayak and the cost was $55 (plus a $150 refundable deposit) for two hours. The two guys who were working knew what they were doing and were courteous and to the point. They provided life jackets and paddles. Walked in, asked to rent the kayak, signed the contract, and then went out. Be prepared to go earlier in the day as it seemed they had a limited amount of kayaks available (for example, two guys were waiting to take out two single kayaks and they only had two double kayaks when we arrived). The guy mainly working the dock gave advice on where to kayak and ensured we knew where to go/what to do. Overall, solid place to rent kayaks! read more

Reserved a rental boat 7 days prior to reservations and even confirmed 3 times before arriving. Was told once after me and my 7 friends arrived at marina that the reservation was not found. Front desk staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful at trying to solve issue with reservation and even admitted to speaking with me on the phone to conform but said that I hung up prior to confirming said reservation although it had been made earlier in the week. Horrible customer service, and extremely rude and non accommodating staff. We will NOT be returning to canyon lake due to awful service here and how no effort was made to the fix issue that was clearly made on the establishments party. Also, people who arrived later than us were promise a boat even if they had less people than we did. I don't know who we pissed off to deserve this but thank you SO MUCH for ruining our 4th of July weekend. read more

I wish I can give them zero stars. This place is ridiculous. I came here ready to bring my friend from abroad to get to witness the beauty of Arizona Lakes. But we were met with rude service by one staff member in particular, the one with long hair. In fact he refused to carry on helping us and assisting us with our questions and called a co-worker to "finish us up". This is unacceptable behavior in treating paying customers. They trick you with cheap prices but have high deposits (10 days hold if using a debit and 1 if using a credit card). Take your money elsewhere, i've gone jetskiing and kayaking in New York and San Diego and Dubai and ive had great experiences and amazing customer service at great prices. Had the customer service been amazing I would've paid the $1000 deposit in a heart beat because I have. Fire the long haired dude, and i'll come back 100% :) read more

If I could put zero stars I would. My family and I called in to make a reservation for a boat and when we got there they had no boats for us. We were very disappointed, we drove a long way to enjoy a nice day on the boat. To make it worse my 12 year old daughter was asking them a question and a man who worked there with a lot of tattoos on his body started yelling at her causing my daughter to be very upset. My husband was asking how this happened that we were not able to get the boat we had reserved, the man had no answer but quickly went to saying he was going to call security on us. We went to Saghuaro Lake and stopped by Precision Marine to ask about renting a pontoon boat. The person at the rental dock was to say the least abrupt, and rude. We really wanted to rent a pontoon boat so we set it up for two days later. We did not get the same person (thankfully) but the guy that had us sign all the paperwork was also pretty customer unaware. The party barge had bird poop and the upholstery was split. There was a table but no stand for it. When we returned the boat we asked about the table stand. We were told it was broken and they decided not to fix it. OKAY...having said all that, the customer service SUCKED but the views and the lake were amazing! Would I do it again??? YES, we all would. BUT, really, couldn't the people be more engaged with their customers and nicer????? read more

I have been a marina member for a long time. I went into the shop the other day looking for a jump as my battery was dead. The guy smoking his cigar and browsing Facebook on his phone was pissed off that I even ask him, the other guy was passed out in the corner. Finally after pleading with him he managed to look up from his phone and say "20 dollars". We didnt have any cash on us out at the lake and I asked him to bill me for it. He refused. read more

I literally cried in the office, it was that bad. Let me start by saying, I've rented from Precision Marine before. Got a good boat. No issues. However this last time I rented a pontoon, the experience was shockingly different and extremely disappointing. I'd buy a boat before I'd ever rent from them again. Here's the story... Upon signing the contract, we were warned that we must have the boat back by 4:30pm sharp or there would be a late fee... fair enough. We hopped in our boat and took off. I noticed that the motor was a little funky. I'm not a boat expert but I've rented from them before so I could tell the difference. When I tried to increase the throttle, sometimes the boat would speed up and sometimes it would just make lots of noise. Maybe a spun prop? I don't know. Anyways, it was my friend's birthday and we just wanted to cruise around and swim... we weren't out there to race around the lake like speed demons so I wasn't too concerned. For a moment I thought about bringing it back but, I know they book up and I was nervous that if I brought it back they wouldn't have another boat to replace it with and the day would be ruined. My bad. Had I known how much trouble this misjudgment would cause, I would have said, "sorry about your birthday bud... we'll make it up to you another day." Anyways, we spent majority of our day docked at a public dock off Saguaro Lake where we swam and picnicked. At 3:50pm, we got back in the boat and set off by 4pm. 30 minutes to return and we're, at best, 4 or 5 miles away. Shouldn't be a problem. Wow, did that boat motor take a turn for the worst. At full throttle, it took us 45 minutes to get back. Meaning we were 15 minutes late. By 4:30pm, we had a "search & rescue" boat from Precision Marine following us. The man driving the boat, who worked for Precision, even drove up next to us and waved at me as if to say "hurry up". At which point I yelled, "this is as fast as it will go!" If you do the math, I was maybe going 7 miles an hour, and even that is generous. PS... none of the gauges worked so that's why I'm doing the math :| Talk about a bum boat. The whole time I'm thinking, they won't charge me the late fee, this isn't my fault. The motor is clearly struggling and we're lucky it even worked enough at that point to get us back to the office. Nope. The employee back at the office said the owner called him and told him that he MUST charge me the late fee, no exceptions. I calmly tried to explain myself and about the motor breaking down and us struggling to get back and he said I needed to pay and get off the dock before he called the sheriff. Cue tears. I was not yelling or doing anything to warrant that kind of response. Just explaining what happened with the boat. Once I started crying from the build up of emotion that came with struggling to get the boat back in 120 degree weather, then being told I would be charged a $135 late fee for being 15 minutes late for a reason that wasn't my fault, then having an employee threaten to call the sheriff because I tried to explain myself, the employee apologized and said he wished he could do something and he was heartbroken for having to charge me.... then, the real source of the issue comes out. He tells me "he's just an hourly employee and he has to do what his owner says." He promises me that he works the next day and he will personally see to it that the boat is taken out for some kind of inspection and if there really is an issue, they will refund me the late fee. Great. That's all I wanted. There was no doubt in my mind that there was something wrong, that they would see that and like good, level-headed people, they would refund me the late fee and I would continue to go back there for years to come. Plus, it's not like I asked for a full refund since the boat was a dud and none of the gauges worked, but whatever... He told me to call them back the next day at noon. And, the story proceeds to get worse. First call: owner isn't in, they need to take a message. Second call (2 days later since she never returned my call): no one at the Saguaro office is picking up, Canyon Lake employee tells me to call back later. Third call: everyone is out of the office until Thursday (4 days from now). Hmmmm... says their open 7 days a week online. Now, I'm sure they're just giving me the run around. I flat out ask the employee if the owner will actually call me back and he says "to be honest, I don't know". I'm literally dumbfounded. I've always been an easy going, will accept the faulty boat, happily eat a messed up food order, never even written a review-type person. But, every part of this experience is beyond messed up. From the bad boat, to the customer service, to the inability to admit any kind of fault, the unreturned phone calls, the broken promise, the threat to call a sheriff rather than taking a moment to listen.... beyond bad. Please don't rent from this place. Rent from a private owner or go to another lake. read more

My daughter and I rented a canoe from Canyon lake. It was the last hour, the staff at the rental place was nice. However, when it can to getting my deposit back it was a SHITTY experience. I paid with credit card so I was suppose to get my deposit back the same day. I called three days after my rental and they told me they did their job and I should contact my credit card company. My credit card company said they did not have the release code. I kept trying to call back and they kept giving me the run around. I left multiple messages for Karen in the finance department who is supposedly the only person who could help me and she never even returned my call to let me know that she was working on it. I finally snapped and I told them I needed a call back or I would file a complaint with multiple gov. agencies, all the kid was say, do whatever you want to do and ended the call. read more

Made a reservation at Canyon Lake for a full day and planned to arrive between 9:30-10am. Called at 8:00, 8:30 and finally 9:30 to makes sure our reservation was all set while on the way and they advised they'd given our boat away, saying checkin for reservations is 9. Didn't bother to tell us that when we made our reservation a week prior. I recall asking the guy several questions while making the reservations about business hours, types of watercraft available, capacity, rental length options, etc and all the while his attitude was like he couldn't be bothered with me. Secondly, a "reservation" is taking a name and number so I suppose we should have been wary then. We then called the Saguaro Lake location (as we had already driven all the way out there with nothing to do) and we were told that they had NO boats either. We decided to go to Saguaro Lake to just sit at the water to find that you have to purchase a park pass 20 mins into town to sit at the water. What a nightmare. We pulled into the marine side and saw the boat rental company actually had TWO pontoons docked. We parked and asked about them and apparently they were available to rent on a first come first served basis. WHAT DO YA KNOW!? The boat worked fine, the lake was clean enough and the one kid who pushed us out was fun and kind. Certainly not enough to ever give them our business again. This was a nightmare. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before renting a fishing boat yesterday. We overlooked the poor quality of the boat and motor... wasn't expecting much from a rental. And they got the job done. But the attitude from the two men running the store was more than enough to keep me from ever renting here again!!! When we checked in, I took their rudeness as impatience because we had never rented here before and asked a lot of questions. When we returned the boat, we underestimated how long it would take to get back. So we were 15 minutes late. No amount apologizing would appease these two men! Neither of them spoke a word when they tied us up. When signing my credit card slip, which had already been charged, I asked for my receipt. He dug it out of the trash and slapped it on the counter. Give me a break!!! In your business, this is the first time anyone has ever been late??? The final straw was when whichever one of you who drives a green pickup was riding my tail going down the road from the lake! I pulled over to let you on your miserable way. The lake is beautiful and the price for a fishing boat isn't that bad for five hours, but other than that, everything else pretty much sucked. The guy at the front desk was not personable at all and couldn't be bothered with my questions. After getting set up with the boat (with a 30 second crash course) we were ready to get out on the lake. Being a novice boat, I specifically asked for a phone number to call in case I had any questions out on the lake. The staff member hesitated and then give me the number to the office. Of course two hours into our trip we couldn't get our engine to start and I called the number that was provided to me. I called seven times and realized that there is no hope getting through... the lines were down. It was getting late so I reached out to a local lake and they said that the lines have been down for weeks and the only way to get in touch with someone was by cell phone. He said that he would call somebody and send them out to us to help. Another hour goes by and NO ONE has reached out to us so I call up the local lake again. Thankfully he was able to talk us through what was wrong and get our boat up and running. After making it back to the store about five minutes before closing I explained to the front desk staff about what happened and how disappointed I was in not being able to get in touch with somebody when I specifically asked, prior to going on the boat, who to get in touch with in case I had an emergency. His rely was, "sorry" and that was it! Words of advice: hire staff members who care about their job and the SAFETY of the people that keep them employed!! If we didn't reach out to a local lake we could have been stuck there all night. read more

The courteous and knowledgeable staff are welcoming and give you great customer service. The lakes are beautiful and just be mindful that if you aren't experienced with due care to not run aground you will be held accountable. As for the other reviews they sound like amateurs and didn't take care. If you rent a car and get into an accident you would also be responsible. It's that simple. Renting a boat is way more reasonable then buying and towing one. I go frequently and it's always enjoyable. read more
