We started this project over two months ago, and progress has been virtually nonexistent. During that time, appointments were scheduled and then canceled at the last minute on four separate occasions. After repeated delays, the owner sent someone named Marcos to meet with us. Unfortunately, it has been yet another nightmare dealing with Marcos. I had to miss an important work meeting to meet with him but he came 1.5 hours late. Thereafter, he never followed up as promised. He stated that he would provide an update within three days regarding material sourcing and pricing. It has now been over a week since his visit, and we have received absolutely no communication. Calls, texts, and follow-up inquiries have gone unanswered by both Marcos and the owner, Dave. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Marcos was fully aware of our project deadline, yet our requests for updates have been completely ignored. At this point, I am genuinely questioning whether this business is operating professionally, as the lack of communication and accountability has been unlike anything I have experienced with someone with these many positive reviews. I am honestly surprised by the number of positive reviews given our experience. I am wondering if the business has a new ownership at this point. If you are considering hiring this company, be prepared for repeated cancellations, missed commitments, and little to no communication. We ended up changing our mind after seeing the samples, so this was really helpful to us. Later on, he came out to measure multiple times--before and after the floors were down--to make sure everything was perfect. He matched the wood to our floor in to help create a seamless look. He was super careful when he installed them not to damage any of the new construction. Everything came out perfectly. The glass railings look beautiful and well worth the investment. I wasn't sure who to go to and looking through various reviews and websites Steel Werx looked like the kind of place that could help me out. On the phone Pawl was reassuring and asked me to come in with the plans I had sketched out. I came in that morning with this very rough draft I had drawn up by hand. Pawl studied it and asked some very succinct questions that showed he entirely understood what I was trying to accomplish. He made some recommendations that I agreed to. Discussion only took about all of five minutes. Surprisingly, he said he could have it done by the afternoon! Before he finished the project he called to let me know he thought my plans had an error for what i needed and indeed he was correct. This had to do with the placement of screw holes that would have not aligned correctly with the cabinets. Again Pawl completely understood what I needed more than I did in a way because he had never seen the cabinets this frame was going inbetween. I had measured my frame out to the 16th of an inch and when I went to pick-up the finished product all the measurements came out to the 16th exactly! The price was a little higher than I had hoped it would be but in my experience craftsmanship like Pawl's is worth every penny. Pawl offered correction to make sure it was right but I didn't need it. It was right the very first time! I couldn't be more happy. This work eliminated a major headache I had with my overall project and the experience was excellent.
