He came out and did his walk-around, getting measurements and identifying anything of note. He made some recommendations that were exactly what we wanted done. After deciding a color, we approved the (what I thought was a very low) cost and scheduled the installation. Weather and his workload had us anxiously waiting for a bit, but things cleared and we were next up. The whole crew showed, including Ryan, early and were done in a few mere hours. During that time, I had the chance to talk to his crew members. All were very polite and friendly. I heard them telling each other jokes and one was even singing to himself. This crew is tight and happy with what they do and proud of how it's performed. Clean-up was thorough. Jacob and his crew showed up about 9:15 AM and got started. Between the neighbor and I, we had 5 oak trees. Four were tall and maybe 20-24" diameter at the trunk. These were taken down in 3 hours, where Jacob would chock a drop rope and tie-off the sectioned branch. The final tree was large (34") and upper branches were spread out. Jacob was very methodical in setting his safety and drop lines. His crew knew what to do and how to do it. Smaller branches were broken down and fed into the chipper, and the logs were set in a truck. They took a 45 minute break for lunch and drop-off the cuttings. Then came the CLEAN UP. They scooped up the wood chips from the stump grinder, cleared away the logs, branches, twigs and leaves. Leveled the ground such that you wouldn't have known there were trees here just hours ago. When they started, it was 30°F and dropped to 26°F when they finished. Yeah, a little snow was involved too. Nothing but the highest praise for Jacob and the First Choice crew. They did their job like professionals, worked HARD, and were exceedingly friendly.

They cover a large area throughout East Tennessee and the estimate process can last a while; given their attention to detail and planning of different options for the various home owners. They will not rush their estimates and take their time to try and create a build to match the vision(s) of the specific homeowners. Because of the attention to their customer's vision(s), we also experienced some untimeliness on our first estimate but, feel it was totally worth the wait. We've experienced a lot of no shows and non-communication from other contractors but, that's typical of construction businesses in this area. Sometimes you just have to be patient and with Estrada IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!! Ultimately, Estrada Decking built a beautiful new deck for our home, about a year ago, and we couldn't be happier with the experience and final result. We were so happy with their work that we contacted them again to provide an estimate for a matching lower deck. And, like the first estimate, we had to wait a little while to get them out but, once they arrived, we discussed several options for creating something that WE would be happy with. We have also contacted other local contractors but, decided to go with Estrada given their customer recommendations and after seeing their quality of work. There is no question that Estrada was totally worth the wait to take on our first project, and we are looking forward to using them again for our second project!
