Precision Plumping It's tempting to say Precision Plumping is the "Best" or "Number One" when it comes to fixing replacing and taking care of water heaters and softeners. But I'm not planning on trying the rest just to confirm James, and his son are the Best. I'll simply never go to anyone else, and here's why. My hot water heater died on a Saturday afternoon, started leaking, killed the pilot light, no hot water. I called James and he walked me through how to keep it working through the weekend, so I didn't have to pay extra for a service call on Sunday. I'd rather not pay and didn't want him to work on a Sunday either. But they were at my house at 8:00 on Monday morning with everything they needed to replace my old water heater. I invited this company to give a second opinion on a mini split a/c that worked but was noisey. I received a coupon in my Valpak for a free second opinion. Thompson told me repair would be 2800 and new unit would cost $6000 and since my unit was so old, probably I should replace. I made one more call. I had a small h/vac company come out. My unit was under warranty. It was $180 and runs quite and works great. I also have 3 more years warranty. I notified Thompson of warranty and that I had repairs done under warranty- they tried to expalin and reason- but the truth is- they were not honest or doing their home work for me. I did my homework and had the repair completed under warranty- and also know that IF or WHEN I need a new unit, I should cost less than $3800 installed. read more

Had a hot water recirculation pump that was leaking. Called on Tuesday morning and James asked if it was emergent or not. He said he could maybe do it that afternoon or on Thursday. I picked up a new pump to have here when they came. He texted about an hour later and said they could come now. Placed a new $10 plug instead of the $300 pump! PRECISION PLUMBING - James Goes To Bat for His Customers OK, so after a couple of plumbing projects at our house, we can accurately opine on James, of Precision Plumbing. James does what he says he'll do! After seeing him do a fine job installing a trouble-free reverse osmosis project for us, he was the natural choice when the old water heater finally heaved its last. James replaced the expired heater with a shiny new one, and that's when the trouble began. Strangely, the shiny new water heater persisted in cutting off every 24-48 hours. James came out and made whatever adjustments to the electronics and burners that he could, but the problem persisted. James ordered replacement electronics. No change. He ordered a replacement burner. No change. James persisted with the manufacturer, and they responded with yet newer electronics and burner unit. No change. James never gave up. He finally did a variety of airflow measurements and determined that the shiny new heater required lots more airflow than did the old unit, and once he installed a new air duct into the attic, the burner finally got the air it needed. James never quit troubleshooting. Rheem never quit helping. Problem finally solved. Precision Plumbing should be called Persistent Plumbing. You'll be in good hands with James. Semi-desperate after four days without hot water I called Precision Plumbing on a Sunday afternoon, expecting to leave a message requesting service. Very surprised when James picked up the phone as if it were a regular business day! I had purchased a water heater at Home Depot the day before and was anxious to get it installed. James penciled me in for 8: 15 am Monday morning (the next day!) and showed up early with his son Casey to perform the installation. He had previously instructed me on what additional parts to purchase to bring the water heater up to code. The father and son team worked like a well-oiled machine and made installing the 50 gallon water heater look easy (I know it isn't). Last night we noticed our 3 1/2 year-old water heater was leaking. We were pretty bummed that we were going to have to go through the hassle and expense of getting a new one.
