At my first visit with Dr. W, I found him to be very unprofessional, but I didn't care, as long as he could get to root of the problem. After ordering blood work -( 25 vials of blood), MRI, CTs, X-Rays, Ultrasounds and Bone Scans, he said he still wasn't certain I had PMR, despite all test results pointed to that. My PC doctor personally called him to ask why he wouldn't give a diagnosis of PMR so I could begin treatment, when to the exclusion of everything else tested for, it was the most likely issue. Dr. Wanalist got very angry that a PCP would question a specialist such as himself, and he tried to send me for a bone marrow biopsy! Rather than go through that, I went to a Rheumatologist in Salisbury who instantly diagnosed me as having PMR as she said, I had all the classic symptoms. The new Rheumatologist began treatment and I was feeling better in no time. She actually apologized to me that the "other" doctor unnecessarily put me through so much. Worst experience with a doctor I have ever had. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't walk, away from this dude!

As a former patient of Dr. Wannalista. Never had a problem with him or his staff which was SO…read morerefreshing. That is until the last time I had TRIED to get in to see him when I developed new symptoms. I'm going to lay part of this complaint in the lap of the Primary I had at the time.  Ever played Telephone Tag or Gossip? Someone whispers something long into someone's ear and then that person repeats it to the next person and so on and so forth until it gets back to you and it's NOTHING like what you first stated? Yep, that kind of situation. I told my Primary who called his nurse who told him what the Primary stated that by the time I got my "answer," it had nothing to do with what I was trying to book the appointment for! We did this enough times that eventually, my then Primary stated, and made it sound as though he was p!ssed about it, to NOT send another referral over because he wasn't going to see me! If he had BOTHERED to book at least a 15-minute consultation with me I could have TOLD HIM MYSELF and then he would have gotten the CORRECT INFORMATION. Almost every single time I have to fire a medical person 99% of the time it isn't because of them but because of their staff! Stop thinking your staff walks on water and never makes any mistakes!

Very efficient and friendly. Love them. Love being able to have a set time. My veins are horrible…read morebut they always get it done with very little pain.

I rarely write reviews like this, but as a healthcare professional I am honestly shocked at how…read moremuch the nursing care at Beebe seems to have declined. During my recent visit, a nurse accessed my IV to draw blood and then flush the line without cleaning the IV port with alcohol first. I was literally watching her do it. No scrub. Nothing. She just accessed the line. I'm a nurse practitioner, so I know what I was looking at. This isn't me complaining about a long wait or someone being unfriendly. Cleaning an IV access port before accessing the line is basic infection prevention. The more concerning part is that patients who don't work in healthcare would probably never even notice. They trust that basic safety practices are being followed. I shouldn't have to lie in a hospital bed and watch every step of my own care because I'm worried something this basic is going to be missed. I understand nurses are busy and healthcare is difficult right now. But being busy cannot become an excuse for skipping basic infection control when accessing someone's IV. Nursing care just does not feel like what it once was. This visit seriously shook my confidence in the hospital. Beebe needs to spend less time talking about patient safety and take a serious look at what is actually happening at the bedside. This was incredibly disappointing.

I sought Dr. Malik's help with a neck injury that has badly needed surgery for some time. I tried…read moreevery form of complementary medicine before I gave in. In order to get an appointment, I had to send my MRI and sit through an interview, all of which would be reviewed by the doctor and he would then determine if I was a candidate for surgery. His office called and granted me this appointment. I waited, in pain, with apprehension for 6 wks. I made plans around potential surgery and manifested hope that this long journey was about to be over. On the day of the appt I arrived to find that Dr. Malik was not there and I would be seeing a PA. She asked me 3 questions regarding pain level, narcotics use and tingling fingers. She looked at my MRI, turned around and said "We recommend Physical Therapy". I explained again that I had tried everything. She said "Well, I guess on increase your narcotics". I was under the impression that the long process to get in was to weed out the people that could not be helped by neurosurgery. I believed that being granted the appointment, I had made the cut. My Nurse Practitioner is fully capable of making a referral to PT but she's fully aware of all the modalities of treatment that I have undergone. After a tearful drive home, the PA called with a message from Dr. Malik suggesting that I look into pain management and get some epidural shots "or something". I expressed my dissatisfaction loudly and clearly at that time. I had been defrauded and had my time and Resourses wasted for what I assume would be a large bill to my insurance company which they will not pay. The doctor has yet to call me to get to the bottom of my displeasure. I've not laid eyes on him or heard his voice. This afternoon I got a call from his scheduling department wanting to schedule a follow up appt. Follow up for what?? So you are suggesting that I waste another day of work and another 2 hour drive for another expensive appt to see another unqualified PA so she can say How's it going? Still hurt? Thanks for coming in. Once again, I expressed my displeasure loud and clear and was met with confusion. The scheduling person said I will pass this on to the PA. No!!!! Pass it on to the neurologist whose name will undoubtably be at the top of my bill. And while you're at send a message to accounts payable that I will not be paying for services I didn't receive. And still no call from Malik. Bottom line...No on this doctor! No! No! No!
