Steve and crew are THE BEST! I've gotten good service before, but I can't tell you how good it felt to have such amazing customer service. They removed 70' plus massive trees and ground the stumps. I changed up the scope on them and with no hesitation completed the work under the estimated time given. I can tell this crew loves their job and can see the comraderie of working together. We had a GREAT experience with Preferred Tree Service. We had two large, overgrown and sick trees that we needed help with. Steve gave us great advice on what we should do. We decided to cut one down, and heavily prune the other to help it recover. We received a much more reasonable quote from Steve than another popular tree service and they were able to quickly schedule a time for the crew to come in. They were very quick, safe, and professional the entire time. There was no damage to our grass, home, or surrounding plants even though they were removing large limbs that were hanging over all of these things. He let us keep a small portion of the mulch for our garden, which was great, and is really helping suppress weeds around our tomatoes, squash, and peppers. True pros! I have to admit, I was hesitant at first. Their quote is much lower than the other quotes I received and they only have 18 reviews on Yelp albeit they're all 5 stars which actually makes one suspicious that these 18 reviewers could all be relatives of the owner. Well I took a chance so you don't have to, you're welcome! They came and cut our palm tree down. One guy climbed the tree and peeled the dried fronds off the tree while 4 or 5 guys cleaned the debris on the ground. They weren't allowed to go into my neighbor's yard to clean up so they worked hard to minimize the debris that fell into the neighbor's yard. They left our backyard clean. They even removed the dried fronds on our side yard that has been falling off the tree because of the strong winds we've been experiencing here in the Bay Area. They also swept all the dust on the street in front of our house from the tree chipper. I highly recommend them and I would definitely use them again should the need arise. read more

Steve came out with his crew of 8 men at 9 AM and left about 3 PM after doing a fantastic amount of work. They were so careful over my fragile iris beds that as they trimmed branches they had two men catch the branches and never broke a single iris fan! I couldn't believe it- all four 4 X 8 beds. They trimmed huge oaks, using safety belts and long poles in the trees. Our trees had not been trimmed in 20 years and needed extensive reshaping and thinning. Steve was able to see and correct growth problems we did not even know could be addressed - like a dangerously leaning oak. They consulted us on lead upward branches when there was a question. The men were all very polite. They raked the ground and hauled away all waste. They said they also do fruit trees in the spring. We had four bids. They were not the very lowest, but neither of us would have considered using the lowest bidder. They cleaned up huge redwoods, cut back our sycamore trees, which were dangling onto our 2nd story roof, cut back our privet hedges, and cleaned up all the overgrown trees on our property. I got 3 bids to have a huge 40 foot tree removed and removal of a substantial amount of over hang branches from a neighboring tree and Preferred Tree Service came in with the most reasonable and best pricing by far! I needed the work done immediately and all bids were booked out 6 to 8 weeks. From my understanding this was the average wait time for most tree service company's. Preferred was able to get my job on their schedule to have the work completed in 4 weeks, quicker than the other bids! Although Steve (the owner) knowing that I needed the work done right away found a way to have his crew come out to do the work 2 days after he gave me his bid. He went above and beyond to make this happen.. .which in my book equals 110% customer satisfaction! When Steve and his crew came to do the work, they were professional, kind and quick!
