Patient requires 24/7 oxygen and is 100% dependent on caregivers called for assistance. Oxygen Is leaking from portable tanks as they prep to go to a doctor appointment. Preferred said they don't have anyone to go to home to diagnose issue. This is a life threatening situation - how can they NOT have an emergency tech for this type of situation? "The seals break on gauges all the time" - well, if that's the case, why don't they deliver tanks with spare gauges as standard procedure? The caregiver had to leave the patient alone while they drove to pick up a gauge. Hope this is the solution. God forbid the patient had a medical crisis during that time. This place is really bad, i.e. unprofessional, unreliable and nonreliable. We have had problems with oxygen deliveries, pickups and providing equipment from a doctor's order. An order for a piece of equipment that sent to them on 4/23/25. As of today, 5/20/25 she has not received. Every time I call for status I get the same answer, e.g. "it is in process" and when I ask what is taking so long they say the are waiting information. When I ask from whom are you waiting for information from I am told she doesn't know. When I talk to the doctor's office they say they have provided all the information they asked for and when I talk to the Insurance company, they say they have not heard anything from Preferred Home care. They were quick on their initial delivery so my parent could be released from the hospital with oxygen at home. Easy return when we no longer needed it. Took off a star because you have to call a national number to schedule pick up of equipment. Had appointments scheduled and no one came. Took it to the office and in just a few minutes everything was sorted. Very helpful staff. read more

No one should trust this company at all. My referral for a foot scooter was sent three months prior to my surgery where it was to be released from the hospital the same day as my surgery. I had to be carried in to my house instead. I have been calling for 6 days and still no scooter following surgery. Yesterday they said we will have it delivered to your home therefore I would need to sign for it. After 5 hours of sitting by the door I called and the representative stated we don't have your referral from your doctor. I proceeded to start over directing the information I have already given them again. The previously recorded representative lied and deceived me into believing she had handled and even asked her supervisor to assist her. Post surgery experience that I will report to every review site I can find as it is absolutely cruel how they have handled this simple request to give me the mobility to move for basic needs and for my safety of not falling. I have been "renting" an oxygen generator from Preferred Homecare for almost 5 years. I decided to try to ask a question about billing and have gotten nowhere yet. Have been sent in circles trying to reach someone to speak with regarding the billing. I'm still on hold now after my 3rd call this morning, and have been waiting over 20 minutes. The people working in the Sierra Vista office are very nice and helpful. HOWEVER, it is a nightmare to get in touch with the home office . I have waited on hold for 30-45 minutes only to be told that person can't help me but will transfer me. Twice I have been transferred, waited a long time on hold and then sent to voicemail. The phone queue was 30min long. The rep who answered made me repeat pretty much everything I told them, incorrectly repeating several spellings, forcing me to repeat my deceased uncle's name to them twice. After I finally succeeded in giving him the information he asked for, and supposedly scheduled a pick-up for my uncle's oxygen equipment, he told me we were done. Two minutes later, he calls back and leaves a voice mail telling me I have to call him back. Since I had no intention of another 30min queue, I went to their website and repeated myself into their online inquiry form. Hours after a popup on their website promised me an email confirmation of my inquiry, no such confirmation has been received. I'm going to try the form one last time, but if they don't respond and don't show up to pick up this equipment as originally scheduled during our call, I'll look into donating it. read more

So I was released from the hospital on April 15th! And the hospital order a portable concentrator along with a full sized concentrator as part of my equipment to go home with! The company did not bring either one and it took 3 different trips to get enough O2 bottles to make the 2 hr trip home! They only gave us one bottle initially for the trip! And they refused to give the portable concentrator, which would make the bottles not an issue! The company has been advised by four different health agencies that I need the portable concentrator and not the bottles, I'm an active person and the bottles are the best solution! Again the company refuses to give said concentrator. First I was told I needed to be with them for 45 days, then it changed to I needed to be with them for a month, and finally it changed that I was not using more then 8 bottles of O2. So I used 2.5 bottles before my first reorder. My contact with the company and ordered the the O2 and I was told that I would get 4 bottles, which would be 5.5 bottles. The delivery driver arrives and see that there is still half a bottle in the carrier, so he only replaces the two empty bottles, which then only leaves me with 3.5 bottles. The driver refused to give me the order of 4. And this happened on two occasions. Contacted my case manager and explained what happened, she made some calls, and tried again for the portable concentrator, and they said no! But she told them what happened with the O2 delivery. So the last order was for 6 bottles. I'm allowed to have 10 bottles. Upon the arrival of the delivery driver he saw I had 3.5 bottles and he refused to give my order of 6 bottles. I advised him I was calling his boss and he finally gave me my order. Had an apt on Friday to Tucson which is two hrs away! So I had to take 6 bottles of O2 for the trip! Now that is more then half of the bottles I have, and it now becomes a safety issue! I have 6 bottles of O2 in my car and I have to drive two hrs away to get there, plus drive time while in Tucson. If I where to get involved in an accident, and one of those bottles where to get hit or damaged!!! Well it would a really bad day for whomever is all involved!!! And guess what, if I had the portable concentrator, which again has been ordered by four different healthcare agencies, that would never be an issue! So I found out that they get more money but the rental of the bottles, and less money by the rental of the portable concentrator! So greed is what is keeping me from getting the item that has been ordered!!!! So it is horrible because Preferred Homecare is the only game in town for Sierra Vista and surrounding area! So just beware of the stuff they are pulling! read more

Instead, they insist patients drive to THEM if located outside of the zip code of their office. In this case, my mother drove 2 hours to be educated on a piece of medical equipment. What if she was home bound? What if the equipment was too large for her car? Poor quality, bad business. Reporting this business. Unfortunately, they can get away with this because they're a large company that distributes a wide spectrum of medical equipment. read more

The lady who works at the front desk is so nasty to customers. She should not be working with customers. She treats us like second class citizens if we need health items.
