I have had an extremely challenging couple years with health obstacles to overcome. I am comforted to know this level of support. I cannot say enough good things about the care and compassion shown to me at each visit. The team of doctors is thorough and listen to patients like they would family. This is why we don't go to doctors. We left with the impression that my husband was being written a prescription for blood pressure medication. It never got called in. I call the after hours line and left a message saying we urgently needed this prescription. Nobody ever called back. He called them after the holiday weekend and they acted like they didn't know anything. They thought he should go to the emergency room. This is America where nothing is affordable so that's a big no. We are doing fine. We don't need the ER. We just need a little help and some medication to help with the blood pressure. These people put him in a (figurative) box and just dismissed it like nothing. They won't take care of you. They'd rather let you die. This is why we don't go to doctors. read more

I've met with multiple doctors, NP/PA's - they have all been rather informative and listen to my communications about my health. I was referred to PMG by a friend. They happen to be a previous customer or mime. I was disappointed with the wait times at my former physician`s office (sometimes had to wait two hours)! I have seen a few different doctors there, along with a PA once or twice. All are great! My primary car physician there, is Dr. Jason Talbert, and he`s exceptional. He`s outstanding for many reasons. The time that he spends with his patients is one, and the prompt attention is another. What blew me away was in my recent visit. Their Internet was out, and they had to phone in my insurance. I was in the exam room when the receptionist informed me that my insurance was not in effect. My employer has let my coverage lapse a couple of other times without telling me. This is the again the case, and ironically I didn`t get the notification from the insurance company until the day after. Doctor Talbert still saw me, took my blood pressure, wrote refills, and spent 10 minutes or so talking with me. Best of all, he waived the office visit, given the circumstances! My husband loves his doctor so I thought I'd check them out. Boy was I wrong if you are gay this is not the office for you!You can tell I'm gay in the first few moments and my husband seems straight. The staff is rude disrespectful and does not care if you stay, well probably because they want me to go. Which I ended up having to go to urgent care to get medical treatment. Which was my last option I would of never wanted being at risk in an urgent care during these times. This isn't a one time thing several times over about a year. I stayed thinking it can't be the whole staff it was just this one but you can only try to tell yourself "they arnt picking on you brush it off" so many times. I'm gay it's the Midwest and 2021 I will no longer accept these behaviors. Beaumont needs to check offices branding there name along with it. Avoid avoid avoid! Doctors I've had were pretty good but the homophobic staff I felt I encountered makes it not worth it!!!!! So if your straight awesome place, gay not so much. Update They deleted the first response and made a calculated response to cover. Then now the doctor wants everyone to know the stats. It's like saying I have a gay friend. They deleted the first response asking me to call and talk to the office manager. Now he lies and says he personally deals with all complaints. After a well thought out response to try to discredit me? So again showing even more they are trying to hide something js. Id be happy to meet with the doctor and Beaumont Human Resources at Beaumont. I'm not a coward trying to help any other lgbt person that may get treated poorly as I did to avoid that office. I have been a patient (and my husband is now too) for about 1.5 years and I can't say enough about how wonderful this practice is! Anytime I have called to get in for something somewhat concerning and they're booked up they will have me speak with a triage nurse to determine if they need to squeeze me in or (after hearing about my symptoms with a UTI that were so bad I ended up losing consciousness and being admitted to Beaumont R.O.) send me to an ER. Dr Hannon is amazing, but I have total confidence in and liked all of the other doctors in the office too. I have never had a bad experience with anyone there, up to and including their receptionists. I have, and will continue to, recommend PMG to my family, friends and anyone else who asks. This place needs to be managed better. What's the point of making an appointment when you have to wait an hour after the scheduled time. Then wait an additional 20 minutes in the room for the doctor. Unreal, grateful to be moving and finding a new establishment that cares for patients personal time. In addition for the doctors to only do one yearly wellness check (a physical) a day is unbelievable. No one should have to wait 4 months for an exam after calling for an appointment. Last time I received this from this circus, it took the same amount of time from the doctor as it did with me on a normal visit. They gave me the wrong address, and when I showed up late from receiving said wrong address, I was not able to get my appointment.

I simply wanted a wellness exam and I booked the appointment one year in advanced because I have had to wait a while in the past before. My appointment was set for 3/3/2022. The day before my appointment on 3/2, they called and said the doctor had to cancel and reschedule, but their next appt wont be until 7/12/2022. I agreed, and now that I'm here (even came early) and waited 30 mins before I asked the front desk TWICE for them to tell me the doctor is running another 30 mins late. Are you kidding me?! I saw 4 people come in around the same time as me & went in after waiting a short while, but somehow my doctor was behind. This has happened too many times, so this is the last straw for me. I DO NOT recommend dr. Ustruck. Also, not only is this place unprofessional, they didnt even have the decency to tell me shes running late until I went up the 2nd time to tell them ive been there for almost 40 freaking minutes. Waste of my time. Even though I understand covid might be causing this in the past, but this is ridiculous. No decency to tell your client youre running late. read more

I have bad experience with this place many time. Recently I went to that place on 9-18-2020 1. Receptionist was not really nice and terrible with organizing. 2 MA was so rude I didn't remember her name. 3. My resulted from lab was wrong because I went to lab on 9-26-2020 but my results date was 9-18-2020 Lol yes it was really funny!!!! I am confused what I have to pay for? After a seriously lacklustre performance by my previous doctor's office, I searched far and wide for a semi-local practice that might happen to offer a respite from terrible hours, shoddy appointment keeping, and a total lack of online records. Who knew how difficult that hunt would be? It's not like most adult Americans work between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and have a 30 to 60 minute commute either way. Oh, and we're not famously skimpy on our holiday and sick leave compared to every other developed nation. I started to think that a physician whom stayed open outside banking hours was something of a unicorn. Apparently it exists only on specialty TV shows in New York or obscure, picture-perfect towns in Colorado. My endless trawling the internet brought me to Preferred Family Medicine (or Preferred Medical Group, or half a dozen other monikers I kept locating), and ended up being a top choice. The affiliation with Beaumont Hospital was a big plus given they're in my stomping grounds. **Note**: They're closed from 1 to 2 for lunch. I chose PFM because they're an all-in-one shop. Need bloodwork? No driving offsite to another laboratory facility. X-rays? They do those too. Even some pharmacy requests can be filled on site, and if not, take your pick of the nearest CVS or Walgreens, which seem to be upon every last corner. Setting up appointments with an available physician is also easy as they have multiple practices covering a range of specialties. I disagree with previous Yelpers (sorry guys!) about appointment times with a favoured doc; maybe Dr. Ustruck is just around whenever I am, but I've rarely had a problem setting up a visit to see her, even on short notice. PFM goes out of their way to try to slot you in. You surely know you don't have enough time to run around everywhere or take precious time out of a too-busy work schedule to sit around at a doctor's office for two hours. Weird hours are even harder if you're on a shift or juggling daycare. I've never cooled my heels in the waiting room for an excessive period -- and if you do wait, the TV always displays some tasty cooking channel to make you reassess your professional choices in life. Do you want to be a cannoli pastry chef? I do. Facilities here are clean, modern, and up to date with technology. Doctors sail around with tablets, immediately updating your files and if you sign up for their online records, you can see the diagnoses, results, and medications you've been prescribed basically from the get go. They frequently update their procedures, like routine medication refills, to make it easier on you and them. I appreciate that! read more

Waited 6 mnts for an appt with Dr Kate. I didn't get to see Dr Kate, just the PA, I left and am looking for a caring doctor's practice. I wanted Dr Kate because of trust, here's why. In the last 18 months, the the PA did 2 pap smears and didn't get a good sample, no results, second one she insisted no lube, that was problem she thought, still sample no good. Then heart issues and shortness of breath, the owner of the practice was who I saw that day, because I mentntion long term Covid, maybe, he was the expert. He told I was just lazy after an xray! and listening to him tell me how great he was, not exaggerating here folks. Then one side of my face fell, the eyebrow was much lower, they did a quick stroke exam, no stroke, they didn't have a diagnosis for me, just ya I see it! Each time, except the pap smear, I google symptoms and got more then 10 likely problems, they were clueless. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE AT ALL. read more

I told them NOT to charge my credit card both in writing and verbally over the phone. They did so anyways. I had to ask them eight (8) times for a statement showing what was billed, what BCBS paid and what my balance was. I received a statement on request number seven (7) but it did not balance to what they wanted to charge me so I had to make yet another request. Had the same issues getting test results back. They like to run a large number of tests and have you just auto pay. read more

Saw Dr Hannon. Love her! Used to see Heidi till she moved. I loved her. Made me feel like family

I was a patient at this office for nearly 10 years. I am prescribed a medication that I am required to have renewed in person at the doctor's office every three months. Preferred Family Medicine requires you to see the same doctor for such renewals, even if the doctor you see isn't there and won't be in that week. They say they can't keep track of your prescriptions if you don't see the same doctor, which makes no sense on account of they have computers? I objected and told them to call me back with an appointment by close of business or I'd go elsewhere -- the office manager said Dr. Weisman, who owns the practice, would call me, but he never did. I got a letter in the mail two weeks later saying I was being dismissed for NONCOMPLIANCE WITH CARE, in all caps, no less. It's pretty disheartening to get the boot from your doctor, especially when you're out of medication. read more

Due to the way that this doctor's office bills insurance, I would not recommend this to any Beaumont Employees. While routine exams should be covered by Beaumont insurance at no cost to the employee, the way this doctor's office bills the exams (particularly the "Know Your Numbers" program), they will not be covered as they should be if anything out of the ordinary is detected (example: elevated cholesterol). In talking with the office manager of this location, I was told that insurance billing comes down to a "crap shoot", as they don't know how a patient's insurance is going to react to the way the doctor's office billed it. In discussions with Beaumont Insurance, 3 separate individuals said that Preferred Family Medicine was billing these exams incorrectly. If you are a Beaumont Employee (or if you get reduced/free routine exams through your insurance), I would pick a different doctor's office. read more

The doctors Ive seen in the office have been great (especially Dr Ustruck) but Ive been going here for years and after dealing with their front office staff for so long, I will not be going there anymore once I get this last referral that I need to see a specialist. The front desk staff is rude, you get the run around when you call to get referrals or anything you need help with. Half of the time they end up transferring you to a nurse who has an attitude and gives you the wrong info. Its an ongoing issue with this office that Ive had since day one. Im sad to leave Dr Ustruck, but I cannot handle the front office staff any longer. I cant constantly deal with this headache every time I need info from my Drs office. read more

First of all, I have been with this office for 20 years. I absolutely LOVE Drs Carbajo and Hannan!! The front office staff is something to be desired, though. They are rude, just as Nick S. said in his December review. In the past couple years, the front staff has become less and less desirable to have to face. I should be able to feel comfortable and ask questions without getting an attitude from Little Miss I Have Better Things To Do. Also, I don't appreciate having been sick in October, sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes as three people arrive and get called before I do, while I am left to wait longer and start dozing off because I was SO sick. When I finally WAS called back, as I was being shown to the scale and then my room, I mentioned to the person that I had been waiting for 45 minutes (I was moments away from tears) and all I received was a snotty "Sorry" for my trouble. Once we got in the room, she was very short and impatient with me. Many of the people working at this office should NOT be working with the public. They also need to realize that they are there because of us, the patients. I am currently looking for a new doctor's office where I can be the top priority, without the office staff treating me like an inconvenience. I also despise that they turn their phone system on late and off early. Way to go! Sorry Drs. Carbajo and Hannan, I love your bedside manner, but your staff sucks and will surely drive many people away. read more

I have been going to PFM for about 4 years and have been very impressed compared to others I have used. I never had to wait more than15 minutes past my appointment time and usually I am seen within minutes of my appointment time. I see PA Heidi and she is great. She is so polite. friendly and down to earth, you feel so comfortable talking to her about your medical problems. All of the staff members are friendly and I have never had a problem making an appointment to see Heidi. Highly recommended. ( The lady at check out was never " short " with me.) read more

I was a dedicated PFM patient until the very same doctor, Dr. Talbert, that had begun prescribing me medication for severe fibromyalgia and also pretty bad social anxiety disorder, decided to cut me off of my medicine, when it's obvious that I'm in pain and a nervous wreck. He told me "Your mother had a drug problem and died from it, and I don't think you'll use the medicine appropriately and you'll overtake it." My mother died from heart complications in her sleep, and all her medicine was present and accounted for when the police counted it, so she wasn't abusing it. It sucks when the only person that's been steadily on your team decides they're not on your team anymore, and is so very rude about it. I won't be going back, and will find a new doctor to manage my needs. read more
