Kindermusik & Miss Karen came for my son's 3rd birthday party and it was fantastic! It's a great price, she was on time (important when trying to keep a toddler party moving), she kept all the kids engaged and also had a goody bag for them at the end! Both of my sons are also in music classes with Kindermusik and have benefitted from it in multiple ways. Learning about music, of course, but also- making friends, improving motor skills, learning self regulation. It's all been amazing! read more

My toddler and I are loving our Kindermusik classes with Miss Karen and just signed up again! We've taken other music/education classes before, but I really like knowing exactly what each activity is teaching my daughter! And Miss Karen has the patience of a saint! (I haven't met the other instructors.) I'd highly recommend checking it out - you can preview a class for free anytime! Hope to see you there :) read more

My toddler did two sessions of parent and child music class and LOVED it. My nanny took him and she always had great things to say about his teacher Miss Karen. He is a fairly shy boy and music class brought him out of his shell. We wil be returning this fall/winter for class again! read more

History

Established in 1998.

Miss Karen introduced the Kindermusik program at Evola Music of Canton in 1998. Since it's inception, Kindermusik was a popular offering at Evola and has served hundreds of families. Many Kindermusik students go on to study piano and other instruments. In 2021, Miss Karen took the opportunity to become the new owner of the Kindermusik program. The name was changed to Prelude Music Studio and classes were moved to the PARC. Our Top Kindermusik program continues to be an integral part of the community.

Meet the Business Owner: Karen S.

Miss Karen has been teaching students of all ages for over forty years. She earned her music degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Piano Performance from Wayne State University where she performed in choirs and as a soloist. She regularly attends workshops, seminars and conventions to continue her teaching education. She was responsible for coordinating the teaching plans for the Kindermusik and children's group piano classes at Evola Music until their closure in 2021. Miss Karen has been a consulting member of the Partnership of Kindermusik Educators Board and has written/developed curriculum for Kindermusik International. She currently manages a team of five accredited Kindermusik educators.
