My mouth was very sensitive at that appointment and the dental hygienist and Dr. Kenzie were so gentle and gave me amazing tips to give me a solution. I booked a cleaning with them two months later and, even with my dental anxiety, Emily did an amazing job with my cleaning. She was thorough and gentle - checking in with me along the way and offering options to make the cleaning more comfortable for me. They even were able to get quick x-rays when literally at every other dentist they've complained about the size of my mouth during the X-rays. Stacy is also so sweet at the front desk to make sure everything goes smoothly when you arrive and exit. Highly recommend!

I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and when I exclaimed and moved my arms from the dental assistant who was trying to hold my arms down, Dr Day told me she wouldn't perform the procedure if I'm going to be "combative". Very distasteful. Also, had I not stopped her from running away after the tooth was taken out, she would've forgot to place the sutures I paid an extra $115 for. I hope the idea that black people have higher pain tolerances didn't play a part in her decision to place the needle DIRECTLY into the exposed nerve. These days, you never know. Front desk was nice.

However, my personal experience with the dental hygienist at my very first visit is that she was extremely aggressive. I honestly felt like I was a toilet bowl she was scrubbing the inside of when it came to the tooth polishing process - it was literally comical! I had toothpaste and water all over my face. This is not normal folks! Not to mention how painful the actual cleaning was. She did not use a manual scraping tool but rather an electronic water pick type tool which she was so aggressive with. After I came home my entire mouth was hurting for hours. I brush twice a day and floss every night. I have had nothing but excellent cleanings. But this lady said I had deep pockets that needed to be cleaned. In the past when I have had to have deep cleaning they would anesthetize you...this was not done. She just dug right on in there with her electric cattle prod instrument! So needless to say I will NOT be going back.

Unland Dental is a safe place for me. The staff is friendly, honest, helpful, and so accommodating. Dr Unland is a class act and very honest. Pricing for those paying out of pocket has always been transparent in my experience-they really work with you. I have gone to dentists closer to me in more convenient locations , but I now realize that Unland Dentistry is worth the 40 minute drive for me. Had a filling done here and had pain ever since I got the filling. Came for a follow up and after a…read morebite adjustment because it was too high I was still in pain but the dentist said she had no logical idea what it could be, offered no follow up plan, and did not offer to redo the filling. So I was left to be in pain for rest of my life if I saw no other treatment. Sought a 2nd opinion which immediately determined upon examination that the filling was compromised and needed to be redone. The 2nd opinion was communicated to this dentist. I sent an email and went in person to give this office the chance to redo the filling, release my insurance claim, or refund for out of pocket costs paid for the last filling. They refused all 3 options and closed my account. I later went to my pcp and was prescribed oral rinse which got rid of most my pain when used per the instructions. I got the filling at the 2nd dentist (as the pain would come back when oral rinse was not used) and the pain was gone the day after treatment. I am so disappointed that the dentist would rather choose a complaint to the dental board, filing with insurance appeal, a bbb complaint and negative review on social media sites, and the possibly getting sued instead of just taking accountability. This could have been easily avoided had you offered to redo the filling at the follow up (Like any other good Dentist would have done) OR just released the insurance claim OR paid back the $300 I paid out of pocket. You might be ok here with a dental cleaning but anything else that is irreversible Caveat Emptor. (Or in other words if this office makes a mistake beware you will foot the bill)

Cuts the time of waiting for a doctor to come and check after a cleaning. Though there were lots of brochures of different types of available services/products to purchase, there were no pressure or questions asked on whether I wanted anything or should purchase a specific service. I love that. Also no shaming, questioning, or hinting as many hygienist do with flossing or teeth color. My teeth aren't yellow but I do drink a lot of tea and coffee so they aren't white either; it was cool that as long as teeth are healthy then it wasn't mentioned.
