After initial check-in, I went to the back for the pre-tests by the technician. Again, no wait. I went through 5 different hi-tech apparatuses, streamline. Basically I just keep rolling my chairs to the right and put my chin on each. I was again back in the waiting area in the back. Soon I was summoned into the exam room for Teladoc. The remote technician evaluated my vision correction. She was friendly and patient. Then I waited for the doctor. This was my only sizable wait but even that was only about 10 minutes. Dr. Barry went over my tests. Redid some of the vision corrections, and correctly pointed out I had a floater in the right eye! Finally, I went back to the front where a staff printed out my paperwork and took my old eyeglasses to be updated. I was told I get to have tint for free. Sweet! I was told to expect a text within 2 weeks when it's ready to be picked up. I was out of there in less than an hour. Smooth transaction and pleasant visit!

At Premier, I had Dr J.E.B. and found him to be patient and sincere when addressing my eye care. One thing I found interesting is the steps of the process (checking in, determining current vision measures, seeing the optometrist, etc) are all done separately. In this way, things move along, but I can see when one area could be backed up. However, I have not yet experienced this to occur. I have found the staff to be professionals and positive. Before the procedure, the Dr. Brent took the time to speak with me to alleviate any residual fears. Lynda came by to see me shortly before the procedure to wish me the best. There weren't any side conversations, everyone was attentive, the staff was very professional and focused on delivering the best service possible. When I first sat up after the procedure and Dr. Brent asked me to read the time on the clock, without thinking about it...I read the time out loud. Then I realized I wasn't wearing my glasses (that I wore for 20 years). Recovery did take a bit longer than with LASIK (as clearly explained to me), but once my vision stabilized (a month later) life was awesome! It is now common practice to sit in their waiting room for almost an hour past the scheduled appointment time. This has now happened to me twice in the past month. I don't know if they are seriously over-booking, or just being managed poorly, but this is completely unacceptable. Staff members are rude and short with clients. Doctors will not provide patients with any time whatsoever to explain symptoms, ask questions, etc. I strongly urge anyone considering this practice for your eye care to look elsewhere.
