Tried to do an Uber Eats order, only to be informed this place was out of literally everything in my order (four different items) after I'd already placed the order. Of course, the suggested replacements were either twice the price or half the quality of what I actually ordered. As a result, I had to frantically cancel the order, and by the time I did, it was too late to place a different order with a different liquor store due to the time liquor stores are required to close in my state. Thanks for nothing other than a headache and a blood pressure spike! I can understand running out of an item now and then, but falsely representing your inventory to this extent is just plain false advertising. Thanks for making me waste my time frantically canceling the order through Uber Apps support. I definitely won't try placing an order from here again, and I strongly advise everyone to be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS of the "suggested replacement" items if you place an order and, after accepting the order, you get a notification they're out of everything or almost everything you ordered. If this happens to you, go straight to Uber Eats help and tell them to cancel the order because the merchant is out of all or most of your items. They will cancel it for you. Please learn from my mistake and don't order from here. Lord knows I won't try it again. read more

I don't even know where to start...there are so many other great places to shop if you're looking for rare spirits. Do NOT come here. If you are looking for something rare, it's probably here because their markup is outrageous. It's practically robbery. A bottle of newly released Garrison Brother's marked up $120. Blanton's marked up nearly $200. I might pay a markup that large if the owner was actually nice, but they are horrifically rude. Do yourself a favor and shop anywhere else. Any other liquor store owner will not markup their allocated bottles AND will let you know when their deliveries are. read more

I would give no stars if I could. This establishment used to be trustworthy. However, last night they dropped the ball, big time, and then lied about it. I placed an order at 8:18pm. Usually I get my order in about 1/2 hour or so. After an hour of waiting I checked the status and I saw it was still be processed. Another hour passed and then another. At 11:30 I contacted the service and my order was still in process. I went to bed. The next morning I checked the app and it said my order was delivered at11:59pm and my card was charged. I checked the porch, but no package. When I contacted the store, the driver claimed he knocked on my door but no one answered, so he left. I told him I have two cameras on my porch and they showed nothing. He handed the phone to someone else and the new person played dumb. Don't order from this establishment! read more

Was looking to buy some alcohol and a worker asked to look in my bag because one of his bottles was missing. He lied and said they saw it on the camera. I asked him if he was joking, and he was actually dead serious. So I told him to show me the cameras, and he had nothing to show come. He took the tag off of the merchandise scanned it and then tried to apologize after realizing he was wrong. I was the only black person in the store so I definitely took some offense to that. Pros: The store itself has a pretty decent selection of liquor and beer for its size and the prices are on par with other liquor stores in the area. Cons: My girlfriend and I have gone in three times in the past few weeks and since it's been cold we usually wear hoodies out or other simple jackets. Each time we've gone we've noticed the owner or manager and another associate always follow us around aisle to aisle and keep tabs on us with the disguise of being overtly attentive to our "needs." The last time we were there the other night though will unfortunately be the last as the regular associate made us so incredibly uncomfortable by staring us down everywhere we went acting like he was looking at his phone when I would catch him staring at us. He would position himself nearby and just evil eye us as if we were trying to pull off a crummy Oceans 11 remake substituting our neighbourhood liquor store in place of a casino. We moved from the front side where the mixers were all the way to the backside where the coolers were in one swift motion while he was positioned on the back wall and when I told my girlfriend that he's for sure following us and watching us... guess who decided to peak around the back end of the aisle to make sure we weren't successful in fulfilling our George Clooney and Julia Roberts fantasies? Yeah, sorry but I'm going to go back to Spec's where they have an actual cop on staff that still doesn't eye me down like I'm some pathetic shoplifter. read more

They have been pushing branded product placement to much lately. Every time I come in, I am surrounded by employees shoving the new flavored vodka in my face, or what ever new flavored whiskey the distributor wants them to sell. When I respectfully say no thank you, I mean it. I shouldn't have to say it three or four times in a short 10 minute visit, and getting very impatient in the process. That can be annoying enough, but the whiskey selection has gone way down hill, and the prices are steadily increasing. That might not be all the stores fault, but come on...I can't get Weller Antique or Eagle Rare anymore? While they do still have some high end Scotch, that are overpriced. Not much to recommend here anymore. They have become just another liquor store. Sad to say. read more

Not your corner package store. Premier carries a huge selection of spirits (i.e. alcohol--not the ethereal kind), including the liquers, cordials, and bitters that the aspiring mixologist need to practice their dark arts. I've even found some hard-to-find items in that department here. The prices are pretty reasonable, as well...but you can't beat this for convenience to the Heights/Washington Corridor. I'm the occasional cocktail drinker, so when I do buy the hard stuff I will often by smaller sizes. They have a good selection in that department. (For some reason the small sizes I associate with run-down convenience stores with bars on the windows and people stopping for their fix of cigarettes and booze. This place not at all, it's a class operation.) They've got a fairly decent wine selection, too. I'd say in this department they are pretty standard with the better package stores I associate with the South. The customer service here is great. Helpful, informative, friendly--indeed, downright charismatic. This place is premier in my book. read more

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but this location is just alright. I come in here fairly often, mostly on nights when the boyfriend and I want to play drinking games at home and beer won't do. I came here for a wine gift for a friend's birthday. Their wine selection is rather poor. I was looking at $9.99 bottles of Pinot that jumped up to $60.00 bottles. No in between. Even with a request for assistance, we couldn't find anything in the, "Hey, you're a cool friend but I'm not in love with you" bottle of wine. They chill half pints in the large cooler next to the counter. So if you're a jager or fireball fan.. it's ready for you. The staff is out of this world I will say. They are always extremely helpful and friendly. I bullshit with the owner from time to time. Last visit he regaled stories of the New Years Eve madness that cleared their shelves. I like this place. I really do. It just doesn't have the selection I'm looking for when I'm in the mood to browse. read more

One of the most expansive selections of scotch I've seen in the entire world. The only other two which come close are the duty free stores in Hong Kong and Singapore. This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood; the two proprietors are friendly, responsive, and know their stuff. When my husband got a new job, I wanted to surprise him with a nice single malt scotch to celebrate. Trouble is, I had no idea what I was looking for or how to choose one. I went in to browse, and started chatting with the owner. Turns out, he's a huge fan of scotch and extremely knowledgeable about the individual qualities of each type. He gave me a variety of options and talked me through each one until I was able to pick one that fit. You know you have a problem when you review a liquor store on Yelp... I came in here one weekend with a long list of ingredients to make Mario-themed shots. The recipes I found had very unusual liquor names that none of us were familiar with so we asked one of the employees. He was able to help out with a majority but there were still two left that he wasn't sure about. He did some searching on his phone as well as called the owner of the store and was able to check off everything from my list. I'm sure all of the guests were GRATEFUL that they were able to enjoy the Yoshi, Mario and Princess Peach shots I made later that night! read more

I like this booze joint. There's a pretty good selection of liquor and wine. The beer selection is a little less worthy of writing home about, but it'll still do in a pinch. Not many gluten-free or seasonal offerings, and it would be nice if there was a mix-and-match 6 pack option. Unfortunately, the wine is quite a bit more expensive than Kroger or Specs. I imagine many of the same wines are even cheaper at the new Wal-Mart across the street, but you have to sell your soul to go in there, so it may not be worth it. I'd like to see a weekly wine special or two that would bring the price down a couple bucks. The owner is SUPER friendly and helpful, and the staff all seem happy and ready to help. I got an interesting lecture on the difference between brandy and Cognac during my last expedition... Because of the friendly workers and the convenience factor of it being right on my way home from work, I'll definitely continue to frequent this place! read more

I read about a interesting gin and wanted to try it. No liquor store in Houston had it. I searched the internet and ran across Premier W&S. I gave them a call and the owner said he did not have that gin but would check his distributor. In an hour he said that he would have that in by Thursday, this was Tuesday. I dropped by Friday and he had it. The shop is great and the service is better. I will definitely shop there again. read more

When I don't want to fight the insane in the membrane crowds at Spec's in Midtown, I stop in Premier on Yale. I've been here several times, and every single time I'm greeted with a friendly HELLO. The people who work here are super cool, always making drink suggestions, or recommendations and asking you how your day was. I like that. It's the small things like that that make me come back. They have a stellar selection of hard to find wine, and lots and lots of alcohol. If flavored vodka is your thing, then you will love this place. They have all the mixers including the Skinny Girl line (I love the grapefruit and peach margaritas) and some solid whiskey choices. Also, a wide variety of beer. Small, locally owned shop that you might miss if you blink driving down Yale. It may look small, but you can find anything you need. Shouts to their awesome craft beer collection! I was able to find the elusive pumpkinator when it was sold out at pretty much every place that sold beer. This place is good in a pinch, but they were a little pricey. I bought a bottle of Educated Guess Cabernet (fairly descent cab under $20). At Premier it was 19.99, at Specs on Memorial, it was $14.96. However, the staff was friendly and the owner was very helpful.
