I don't typically review non-restaurants on Yelp, but this is a warning to people considering this gym- get your cardio by running the other way! From the sign up, being haggled & pressured into signing three year contracts & paying $45 a month while other people are getting $30 one year contracts, it's unsettling to feel like you're simply being preyed on by salesmen, as opposed to joining somewhere interested in your health & fitness. They lure you in with offers of trials, then only giving them to you after you sign a contract, which is hardly a trial. Nor will you know of the extra annual fee they'll charge you for "upkeep"... Without any actual upkeep. The tour you'll get seems fine enough, but they never take you close enough to show you that half the cardio equipment is outdated or out of order. You won't be taken far enough to see the filth (pictures posted) of the locker rooms that get only the most basic of cleanings. If you come in Dec/Jan, you'll see new padding put on equipment, but they only do that for the New Years rush. The rest of the year, things are left run down & often falling apart. And don't bother taking to management or employees about anything. They're busy selling, hitting on the nearest young girl, or simply not knowing. Outdated equipment, things rigged to stay together instead of being properly maintained, and a general filth that flies in the face of "health." For a health & fitness club... This gym is neither healthy or fit. I would have left multiple times in the last three years if they would have let me out of my contract. Don't pay premium gym prices for a run down hole of a gym. The worst gym in America! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Not only do they have crappy customer service, but the gym is disgustingly dirty. The men's locker room always has a urinal that is "out of order", bathroom stalls that are broke, the sauna is dirty, the whirlpool is always broken, and broken treadmills. **WARNING. THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE NICE.** Okay, let me start off by saying that I purchased this membership when I was a mere 18 years old. I thought that I could do something like this to better myself. Wrong. I wanted to do a two week trial to try it out. They make you sign a 3 YEAR CONTRACT if you even want to step foot in that place. The things that were said to me then were very deceiving and make you think that you're getting a decent deal and that you could cancel when you want. I was very young and dumb. Well needless to say, I got roped into a contract and didn't read the fine print before signing my life away. In the contract I had, it stated you could cancel it in the first week, if you move more than 30 miles away from a premier fitness, or if you are medically unable to workout per a doctor. I tried to cancel in the first week and by the time I heard back from anyone it was past the week. They told me that I was in the contract and could not cancel unless I had a reason that I stated above. Total BS. Once again, young dumb me didn't do anything about it. I should have fought it till the end! I paid $45 a month for three years. Every July you get charged an additional $19. (Two separate charges I might add. So you pay additional taxes) Years go on.. Three years approximately.. I go in to the gym cancel. They give me a phone number to call. I call it, a guy who sounded like he was talking into a pillow answers and tells me that I have to sign a form at a gym. I gave up that day because I was so PO'd, and I had already drove home. Today, I go in to cancel. The GM was with a poor woman who was about to get roped into the same crap as I. He didn't acknowledge me for a good 10 minutes. Finally he came over and was a poop head. Yep, I said poop head. That's as nice as I'll be. He scribbled down a phone number and handed it to me and walked away! I literally had to say "wait, I have some questions". He came back over and I asked if there was something that I needed to sign. Since the last time I tried to cancel I was told I needed to and it was a big deal. He told me no and once again walked away. Whatever. I called this number and I swear the same guy answered the phone! It was like he was on a cell phone laying in his bed. He gives me an email address that was incorrect. He told me to email this gal saying I wanted to cancel, and that's all I had to do. By the way the CORRECT email address is lorena@fortiusfin.com You know, in case anyone needs it ;) Now, let's hope it gets cancelled for next month! I will be contacting my bank to freeze any more transactions to this place. I have my proof of cancellation by my email. I may also send a certified letter just to cover myself. This place needs shut down. It's ridiculous. I know that I am not the only one who has had a TERRIBLE experience with this place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. IT IS DIRTY. WARNING!! This is hands down the worst gym in Clark county.... I don't even know where to start, super friendly when you come in the door but that is where it ENDS... so to start off my experience I signed up and tried to pay for a year of membership with out having a walk through. This was only because I went there as a kid, and thought it was the same. I tried to pay for a full year and was told I cannot do that because it's a month by month membership so I agreed. First couple weeks I over looked the dirtiness and lack of effort put in from the staff. Then it all started to turn bad dirty equipment, basketball court, sauna, tanning. The longer I was at the gym people around me all started stating the same problem. Then I started getting people telling me they gotten ringworms from this gym and older people telling me they got covid because it the only place they go. So I was just going to go to another gym and just cancel my membership with out making a post like this!!! Then when I called they told me I signed up for a 3 YEAR CONTRACT and the only way out was to pay the balance. They are scandals. Please don't be fooled like my husband and I were when we joined this gym, we wanted to try out the 30 day free trial even though they were advertising they said it was a 2 week free trial so went ahead and wanted to try this place out, they make you sign a contract even to try it out for 2 weeks, well they tell you the contract is for 1 year, wrong! It's 3 years, and they say it's simple to cancel, wrong again! We moved 30 miles away back in May 2015, been charged 2 more times, I sent in 2 proofs of relocation to new address twice! I waited over 10 days each time and still they will not allowed to cancel our membership, went to the Better Business Bureau, they lost their accreditation due to 112 complaints, most unresolved. Don't even bother with this place, and the child care is just ok, I had my 4 year old and at the time my 9 month old baby, they were allowing a 9 year old to walk around carrying my baby! Without my permission, It's not ok for little kids to walk around carrying a baby! They could've dropped her and caused injuries! Don't waste your time, because even if you try and cancel before the trial has ended they will find a way to keep you as a member! You will not be able to cancel! The only reason I give this place 3 stars is because of the instructors and very few of the staff. Most of the staff including the manager and trainer will ignore you or are too busy staring at their cell phone to even know you are there. The personal trainer is a joke and waste of money. The personal training area has some good equipment in it that is open to the members but the trainer does not take any pride in his work area and it looks like someone's garage gym most of the time. You would think with this being his livelihood he would take better care of his environment and have some pride in what they do. Not to mention if you do work our near the trainers they will laughingly share their opinion of you with their trainee and mock you for doing what you do even though he has no clue! Make no mistake though, not all of the crew is lost! There is an older man who does just about everything for that place while the younger team members sit around again on their phones. But other than him and a select few others the staff is lost. The class instructors though are awesome! The classes are upbeat and fun and I would recommend them to anyone. Probably only thing keeping this gym alive besides racket ball. The contract and cost are a bit of a joke though, you have to be there 3 years before getting a truly decent price. I think the gym could use some serious updating and needs to get with the times when it comes to the type of fitness they offer! Gym seems to be stuck in the late 90's when it comes to equipment and style. I continue to work out there due to the classes, the free tanning, and the daycare which is ok. Too many kids per instructor though. Think Ohio has a law about that somewhere!?! Anyways all in all I guess it depends on what you are after on whether this gym is right for you or not. If you want awesome instructors for some fun classes and there to do your own thing than go for it. If you are looking for new, up to date, or friendly staff try Globogym "Planet Fitness" I hear they give you pizza to help you reach your fitness goals! (enter sarcasm) read more

It's a great club. Love that there's free childcare and classes. Really private and free atmosphere. It's awesome!

We signed a contract 3 years ago stating that at the end of our contract it would go to $10/person/month. When I was charged $15/person. I called the 800 number like I was told to and after a week they said the manager at my branch said the contract says $15. Well then I called Adam the manager at my gym and he said that is what it said when I got upset and threatened to cancel he said he would see what he could do and call me back tomorrow. Well I didn't hear from him for 4 days, I called and left messages and never heard back till I said I would cancel if I didn't hear from him within an hour. Miraculously he called me and said even though it said $15, he would honor it, well billing never got that message!! So this time when I called my husband took the phone and told Adam to listen that we have a written contract and if he wouldn't honor that then we would contact the BBB and post about it on social media. He cancelled our membership saying my husband yelled profanities at him in the gym, 1st they were on the phone and 2nd he didn't yell or use profanities. Have talked to Adam general manager at Springfield and he got argumentative and said "Clay" at corporate said contract should be $15 and we will not be allowed to come back to gym and cancelled our contract with no just reason. When I asked for number for corporate Adam would not give it to me, I had to call other Premier fitness to get number. Adam is the 3rd or 4th manager at this gym since we have been there and has POOR customer service.  We have been members for 3 years and had no problems till now don't understand why they won't fulfill contractual obligation and terminate our contract when we are just trying to have them do the moral and just thing. I have never had to fight so hard and call and write so many managers to have something like this taken care of and it is ridiculous.  Gym is left unstaffed and open overnight till about 5 A.M. And the cleaning lady that comes in then said she found bongs, crack pipes, and used needles in the locker room.  "Manager" Adam cancelled our membership because he said my husband used profanities with him and this is a family facility. Yeah right with needles and bongs. Crappy business and customer service!!! Please stay away from this business!! read more

Run away. Run far far away from this hell hole. First, for $30/ month I would expect them to at least be able to replace broken lights and maybe vacuum once a year. This place is disgusting. Spiders and other bugs are everywhere. Don't believe me? When they take you on a tour, look in every corner and you'll see a nice little spider-family bunkering down for the long run. Second, I am a college student. I am poor. I signed up for this as a summer work out over the summer. I was told that he could cancel this in a few months for me when I leave because he respects higher education. Respect my butt. I have almost been through a whole school year and still cannot get my membership cancelled. I work extra hours at school just to get the extra $30 bucks to pay for it. They lied to me about being able to get out of my contract. Third, they lied to me about how long I was signing up for. I signed up for a 1 year thinking I would be able to get out, but really he signed me up for THREE YEARS. I am 20 years old and going to college. Do I look like my rue21 paycheck was that good to pay $1000 total for a gym membership I can't use 3/4 of the year? I hope anyone reading this will learn from my terrible mistake. These people couldn't care less about your health. All they care about is the money filling their pockets. They will take advantage of anyone that comes within a mile of that cursed building.
