Two years ago Premier installed a 24kW Generac standby generator at our home. Today, I learned that ALL of the circuit breakers they installed in the two transfer switch panels were non-compliant with the manufacturers specifications. The breakers appear to be the GE breakers that were in the prior main electrical panels, and they just reused them. I only discovered this because we were having a 90 AMP breaker that feeds a sub-panel trip randomly over the last several weeks. It seems the GE breakers that are commonly used in home electrical systems do not fit properly into the Generac transfer switch panels as they do not seat properly on the bus bar and they fail to establish a tight, uniform mechanical connection. A thermal camera assessment showed the 90 AMP breaker to be very hot. Premier did send a tech out to replace the breakers with spec approved breakers today, but my conversation with the GM was underwhelming. There was no hint of contrition in his voice. It was as if he was doing me a favor by making it right like it should have been from day 1. They directly violated Generac's explicit installation guidelines. read more

Long review, but worth the read. I do not recommend this company. In my experience, they do not do what they say they will do, they do not respect people's time or money, and most concerning of all, I still do not know if the $52,000 generator I purchased even works or is safe. The sales process was actually very good in the beginning. Everyone was friendly, informative, and easy to work with. Up until installation, I had no major concerns. This was not a small purchase either. Even after discounts, this whole-home generator project cost over $52,000, so I expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, and attention to detail. The problems started when I began getting conflicting and incorrect information. I would research things on my own, call to verify, and politely ask for confirmation. Each time, I was told the information I found was wrong, so I trusted them as the "experts." That trust became a problem on installation day. The concrete pad looked undersized to me, so I specifically asked multiple times if it was correct. Three different people confirmed it was. Then, on installation day, they realized it was in fact the wrong size. Instead of stopping the project, they started the install anyway and told me it would take two days. It did not. They had to pour more concrete, let it cure, and come back later, which delayed completion by nearly two weeks. When they finally "finished," no one clearly communicated that the project was complete, explained how the system worked, or even confirmed it was operational. I was left wondering if they were still coming back. From day one, I asked if they handled all electrical and gas inspections, and I was told yes. About a month after installation, the city contacted me to say the work had never been inspected. I called the company and was told, "Sorry, we'll get that inspection done." That is unacceptable. If the city had never called me, the gas line may have never been inspected, which is a serious safety issue. There were also multiple quality and damage issues during installation: * Two items under my house were broken and had to be repaired * Protective shielding on wiring was cut in multiple places * Landscape lighting was run over and damaged * Overall, there was very little attention to detail To make matters worse, they said they would come back to show me how everything worked and go over inspections. I blocked off time from work for the appointment. When they were already late, I texted and was told they were "5 minutes away." After waiting another 20-25 minutes, I texted again and was then told they would be "a little later." I had already rearranged meetings for this appointment, and they still could not show up on time. Now here I am, nearly two months after I was originally told this project would be completed, and I still do not know if this generator even works. I have never been properly shown how to operate it, never been given confidence it is safe, and I have had to ask every question myself because communication has been so poor. After being told they handled inspections, I now have to pay out of pocket for my own independent gas and electrical inspections just to make sure everything was done correctly. At this point, I basically have a $52,000 metal box sitting in my backyard and no confidence that it is safe or functional. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. The sales team was great, but the installation, communication, follow-through, and safety concerns were unacceptable. read more

With the exception of one person, this company is horrendous to work with. It took them six months of me nagging them to actually install my system. They have a huge, complex bureaucracy that makes any interaction with them difficult or impossible. If you are lucky enough to work with Ben in Crossville, you will have a very good experience. This IS the worst generator company in the entire US in my opinion. NO customer service to speak of. No return calls when you're told that someone will call. The installation has been a total nightmare from so-called experts. KUB (Knoxville Electric Company) failed premier installation on multiple points. I had to contact premier rep on multiple issues, without successfully fixing the issues. The electric company shut off power to home due to premier's generator installation. I will have to hire electrician to fix premier's faulty installation. Received call from premier's manager only after I threatened to disconnect generator and leave on the driveway. No help from Manager either. Lack of customer service, lousy installation, installation crew left after installation without notifying homeowners, leaving without turning power back "on", LOTS of nothing but lip service from this company. Premier Generators will have ONE chance to fix all problems. If I could give this company a minus 100 stars, I would. Not reliable company in my opinion. install went ok. I called about doing the 25 hour service that the owners manual says to do. woman I talked to said wait for 2 yrs to do it. It needs to be done for warranty. change oil and filter and check valves. once it is done it will be good for 2yrs. During recent storm my generator failed on Saturday during a long predicted storm and displayed an error code and was off-line. Called and only had voice mail with no emergency response. When I did get in touch on Monday they quoted hundreds of dollars in labor costs to even come out despite the generator being under warranty, but said they were sending nobody due to poor road condition although other companies like my local vet has zero issues with the roads. I was able to reset the generator after finding instructions online and cancelled their service call which would have occurred at some unknown future time. I will be looking for another service company that actually provides good customer service. They do not! read more

It's been an absolutely miserable experience with "Premier," from start to finish. I have some concerns with the 22 KW Generac generator itself, but it's this company's abysmal service experience that I'll focus on. I had to call over and over in 2023 to set up installation. It was as if they didn't want to sell me a $14,000 generator. When I expressed some frustration on the phone about having to call repeatedly and not getting calls back, one of the representatives there quickly angered and became rude, even disconnecting the call. A couple months ago, the generator failed due to an "overload." At the time only the dryer and TV were running. A 22 KW generator should handle that easily. I called Premier and set up an appointment with a technician for the next day, for which I had to pay a caretaker to be present. I received a confirmation text the moment Premier set up the appointment, including the name of the technician, but the technician never came. When I called the next day for an explanation, they blamed it on a scheduling technical issue on their end. We reset the appt and the tech looked at the system, declaring it good. I still don't have confidence in the system because it failed in use. Thus, I contacted Premier to seek more answers. Since then, the manager I asked to speak to has never called, despite 4 attempts on my part to reach him. I've even filed a complaint with Generac and I still haven't heard back. Generac informed me today that they tried to contact the dealer and even they haven't heard back in 8 days! Overall, I question the reliability of a $14,000 generator, and the customer disservice at Premier is astounding. Reading the reviews, I see an overall 4.5 average for Premier, but sorting by most recent reviews, I see mostly 1-star reviews. It seems the only person associated with Premier who responds at all is the one who responds to these scathing reviews. If the company put the same effort into customer service as it does trying to protect its reviews and search engine optimization, it might have happy customers. read more

I thought I would at least give my 2 cents in on the this disasters company. I started out in when their were no one in this business as Jeff Woods Construction. At the time, they were the best in the business. It is most unfortunate that they changed to the preset company Premiere Generators. Huge aspirations that only caused their downfall. It was in there infinite wisdom to eliminate the Northwest Georgia region and leaving their entire customer base hanging with no service. So much for customer loyalty! But there is a silver lining to this story. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague. I found a company named White Electrical Services that serves the NWG location. Chad is a hidden gem indeed. Yes a small business but believes in customer service and is extremely knowledgeable what Premiere Generators has forgotton and ignored. We had used this service as Jeff Woods Constitution then they changed the name to Premier Generator and it's gone greedy. They literally screwed me out of $174 pre paid maintenance call. The propane tank was to low to run generator they Saud couldn't do service. We filled the tank they came out said we needed a new standby controller assembly $430 cost. We couldn't afford it so didn't call to set up repair. Now they want $260 service call charge and refuse to credit the $174 we paid in advance to them STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!​ read more

Horrible customer service. First they gave me a date for installation. Electric company came to shut off my power because Premier called in for it. No one from Premier informed me of this. My power was off all day and the generator never was connected with Transfer Switch. When propane company came, several days later, they said the generator was not connected for them to start up the generator. After 3 or 4 calls to Premier finally got some one to say sorry we will send a crew again next week. Technician showed up and was shocked to see transfer switch was not connected and he was only here to show me how to use the generator, but he couldnt because it was not hooked up. He call the office from my house phone and talked to Ben. Ben apologized for the mix up and promised to send the crew out to install transfer switch on 03/04/2025. He also promised that they would not have to shut the power off except for maybe and hour to hook up to meter. Fort Loudon Electric showed up at 9am to cut the power off again and said it was requested by Premier. Premier was not even here yet. I said no I was promised by Ben that they would not shut the power off. I contacted Premier and the lady on the phone tried to blame all this on me. Super poor customer service and very terrible attitude. I will never recommend them to anyone. Some supervisor, Taylor I believe, was supposed to call me back. Its been 36 hours and I haven't heard a word. Let me make one thing clear, the workers that came to my house were excellent. They worked hard, and did a great job. Now that it has been turned over to Premier Generators, they overcharged for the annual service visit which cost $384 just to change the oil and only needed a quart to replace this. I honestly never write complaints like this...ever. My experience with this company so far has been absolutely abysmal. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well. When I was sold on my unit, I was informed of a max turnaround time of 2 weeks. It has now been 1 1/2 months since my unit was installed, and I cannot get anyone out here to fill in the trench that they dig for the gas line, and also walk me through the unit and make it operational. Trying to speak with anyone from this company is impossible. Every time you call you reach a 3rd party answering service where you then have to provide them with all of your info, each and every time, only to rarely hear back from anyone, if ever. When you do hear back, it's always a Friday, right before they close for the weekend. Since this trench has been dug over a month ago, it has rained so much that there isn't even dirt to fill back in. Just a bunch of mud. I've had an appointment scheduled for them to come and finish the job on 2 separate occasions now, both times, no one showed up. That 2nd appointment was today. No call from anyone, no one came. It was the same instance for the first appointment. I don't know what the hell is going on inside the corporate office but I guarantee you if the owner Mr. Woods knew that this was going on, he wouldn't stand for it. No one would. It's not the way to do business, regardless of the industry. I am so tired of this company. They have all of my money for this job and still I have an unusable unit and no clue what to do with it in addition to a mud pit in my backyard. Good luck dealing with this company. read more
