8/22/2022: I was pleasantly surprised in 2018/2019 when Premiere Healthcare, Dr. Palmer was assigned as my chiropractic care provider via VA Mather Hospital. Weekly, I was scheduled visiting Dr. Palmer from 2019 until, winter 2021 which is a long, long time, indeed, receiving chiropractic treatments. Amazingly, each scheduled visit receiving chiropractic care from Dr. Palmer, I received chiropractic treatments for my severe, left knee injury and pain management which offered temporary, pain relief lasting one week until, my next scheduled visit. To date, I'm praying VA Mather Hospital will assign future chiropractic appointments with Dr. Palmer soon. read more

Visited Premier Healthcare on December 28, 2020 for an assessment for my mom's peripheral neuropathy. She saw Dr. Mooney. My first impression was somewhat shocking. Facility has no requirement for staff or patients to wear masks. There's no sign on the door in respect to CDC COVID-19 guidelines, no symptom screening/questionnaire nor temperature taking or limit to how many people can be in the very small waiting area. I asked the front receptionist why she doesn't wear a mask. Her response was "I'm not required to". I observed a patient who came in without a mask and wasn't asked to put one on. Compared to my experience with other healthcare facilities and businesses, who are diligent in adhering to at least the basic CDC guidelines of washing of hands, social distancing and mask wearing, Premier Healthcare by all accounts is ignoring this. I asked the Dr. why? And he proceeded to make claim to his research and science that somehow validated his position of not wearing a mask, not requiring his staff to wear a mask, nor clients. I was very uncomfortable returning to get the results of my mom's initial assessment, but did so on 12/30/20 in hopes to garner some knowledge and recommended treatment I would seek elsewhere. Again, but this time during our 2nd visit, the small waiting room had at least 8 patients packed in waiting, some with masks, some without. I observed again, none of the staff or other doctors wearing masks. After Dr. Mooney reported his findings at the tune of $4,200 for 20 visits 3xs a week, and showing us the equipment and procedures he was recommending, I observed a raised table with a sheet that looked as though it hadn't been washed in who knows when, and equipment that in my view, didn't look as though it gets wiped down, although they make this claim on their website. I questioned many of the things he said, and it wasn't until I mentioned I'd previously managed a wellness center he took that as "no wonder you're asking so many questions." First, I'm responsible for my mom's care. And 2nd, who wouldn't seek to understand in depth what someone is proposing for $4200! This is common sense. I would not recommend this place to anyone for the very fact that a place who claims to prides itself on the health and well-being of their patients ignores the seriousness of a raging pandemic by not adhering to CDC guidelines, although they state so on their website, and who continues to put their patients and the community at risk with the arrogance of thinking they know best based on the science they've read they're exempt from complying. Jeesh! Premier Health, get with the times we live in! And no wonder the numbers are soaring. See posted photos taken 12/28/20. Worst place ive gone to. I needed help on a saturday, and they told me to come in, already they were worried because they closed in an hour but told me its no problem if i can make it in 10 minutes and I did. Once i made it they told me that because I was a new patient I couldnt get help. They said they dont do new patients on a saturday, and after assuring them i had insurance and payment they told me 50 minutes wasnt enough time for paperwork and they were closing soon. Been going down hill in care since i started going there. In winter months I hurt so bad i usually don't get into questions but today i did have questions and was shut down 3 times and then on the way OUT THE DOOR said 'ill get your refill'. They scheduled me for 2 days AFTER my refill date so i had to go in early morning on a fill in to receive my meds on time. Not a happy camper. read more

I saw John M. Mooney DC on 11/30/2017. I was in acute pain and found that my chiropractor had gone out of business. After checking a few others who could not give me an appointment that day Premier Healthcare told me to come right in. The prices they quoted were some of the highest I've heard of around Placerville at $70 for the exam plus $70 for treatment as explained on the phone. After running up the $70 for the exam he said he would take x rays for $70 and schedule another appointment to treat me after he looked at and "marked" them. He expressed shock that other doctors have adjusted me without x-rays. I protested and he agreed to adjust me that day. I paid $210. I experienced brief relief from the acute pain. On 12/4/2017 I went to Back To Health Chiropractic once again in acute pain where Mark Schwartzmeyer examined me, adjusted me, gave me ultrasound therapy, and charged me $50. Today is 12/7/2017 and I still feel much better aside from the bruising that is getting better each day now that I have received an effective adjustment. read more

I have been going to Dr Mooney for over 20 years. I have recommended him to many friends who still use his services. Dr. M keeps up with new things, and the office has expanded services from just chiropractic to full service medical including massage therapy, laser allergy treatment and weight loss services among other things...When I have a problem, I always check Dr. M to see if he has a suggestion about nutrition or exercise that can alleviate it. Quite often he knows things my GP (who recommended Dr. M) is now aware of. read more
