In seeking home care for our 81 year old mom for a couple of weeks after a long hospital visit & rehab, we were referred to Craig Cares by more than one persons/organizations. My first call to them was with James who instantly made me feel they were the company we wanted and they were willing to get us care within 2 days. Tiffany, the case manager, is both very professional and also very caring and personal. She came the first day with the first caregiver to make sure we were all set. Their policies are generous and they are incredibly flexible and willing to pivot when needed. Our goal was to get my mom to independence. We had 2 very different caregivers and both were wonderful. My husband & I have used Craig Cares for over a year for our home health care needs. We have used 5 of their health care professionals (primarily 2) and all were well trained, compassionate and caring. My husband had Cancer treatment and was working with P.T. to gain strength. He uses a wheelchair and walker. The ladies were friendly and helped with household chores that I could not do because of my Rotator Cuff surgery. My arm was in a brace 24/7 for over 6 weeks and could not use my arm to lift anything nor drive. They drove us to some Dr Appointments and me to grocery store. They shopped with me and put groceries away. Also, they helped with some meal prep. and cooking which was so appreciated. The staff at the office were so helpful and if a caregiver had to call out sick they asked if I needed a replacement. I want to mention Brian, in particular, as he helped me many times if any changes were needed to our schedule. He was quick to get back to me and understood that in our situation we were dealing with multiple appointments and I needed help pushing my husband in wheelchair. We have engaged with Craig Cares for two+ years in the caregiving for our mom who's in her 80's and had a rough go of it medically. They have been extremely flexible in the scheduling of staff to take care of mom at different facilities and varying the staff to meet her needs (and challenges), In March 2020 with the onset of COVID-19 when we took her out of her facility and started sharing her between the local family and Craig Cares was right there assisting and helping her and us through the new life challenges. I am super impressed with Craig Cares! I reached out to them at the end of October 2020 to help with my 88 year-old mom who has Alzheimers (and is still at home with my dad who is frail and on dialysis). Andrea, the client coordinator, was extremely helpful and walked me through the whole process. By the second week of November, my mom was being cared for by Miss Nicole who is kind, upbeat, professional and very patient with my mom (who has become very stubborn). Since the rapid rise of Covid-19 during the month of November, my dad became fearful of getting in-home care and suspended the service until the new year. I have been so appreciative to the whole team who has been so responsive and flexible during this pandemic. I know it must not be easy to have schedules starting and stopping and starting again. I provide the schedule for my mom's caregiving needs a month in advance. Twice I've not had a caregiver show up as scheduled. Today I had scheduled someone for 3:00 and was to meet up with friends at 3:30. At 3:15 I started inquiring about the caregiver. I was told they were working on it. At 3:31 I received a call saying someone would be there. I asked for an ETA since friends were now waiting on me, I was told it would be no later than 4:00, but she would get an ETA and call me back. No call back. And when I attempted to call the agency back at the number from which they had been calling me, it went to voicemail. The caregiver finally arrived at 4:15. The lack of calling me back was truly unprofessional. Not a lot of consistency with the caregivers. The last three days I've had three different caregivers, which means my time in going over everything (yet again) before I leave. It's also tough on my mom, who has severe dementia. Consistency/predictability is good for her. But at the end of the day, it was the lack of follow up with a simple phone call that was important to me. And they have had time to reach out to me today during normal business hours to apologize for the inconvenience and yet I've heard nothing. read more

The name says it all- Craig Cares! My initial impression of Craig Cares was excellent. I was lucky enough to get to speak with Sue who answered the phone. She was so pleasant, very knowledgeable about the company and asked me all the right questions. Unfortunately, I was in search of a company that would assist my MS stricken mom with care until I could get her California benefits up and running. Sue understood exactly what I was looking for and requested that I schedule a free assessment with Craig the owner. This was to be my first time ever needing something like this. After meeting with Craig who is so personable, understanding, and CARING I knew that this company was superior to the other 10 companies that never returned my calls/emails, didn't have literature, very unprofessional and down right scary! Craig even sent out one of his internal employees- Angela to train me on ostomy care and turning my mom. Angela is so pleasant and she rolled up her sleeves and immediately got to work with training me on the proper way to turn my mom and how to handle her ostomy. I never realized how expensive in-home care could be and I believe that Craig Cares has the most affordable rates around. You are not only getting a caring staff, but a company that really goes above and beyond. This is the type of company that you would want on your side when you are going through something as stressful as finding someone to care for your loved ones when you are not able to. The hope is, you never NEED to use the services of a company like Craig Cares. My Mom and her husband needed Craig Cares service for a couple months while her hubby recovered from a broken arm. They worked 4 hrs a day for over 2 months, and were tremendous! Never did you have to say to the care giver "don't you have work to do?" Because they were ALWAYS busy doing something. All of what they did was to help with the situation, light cooking, cleaning, etc. When the situation became a critical need of 24 hrs/day, Craig Cares responded with a team of people in addition to the ones already working. This allowed my family to properly take the time to figure things out. I'll admit, the 24 hr care CAN get pricey, but in a short term emergency, it was well worth it. That and the fact that Craig Cares was able to help with NO questions asked about availabilty of their staff. I can't say enough about the care givers! They were all excellent and I know my Mom and her husband are in better shape now than back in February because of it. So if you have the need, and are in the Sacramento, CA area. You should call Craig Cares! They will not only help out in a trying time, they will provide you with the "respite" break you need to get things done that you've been ignoring while caring for your family member(s). For many months we had personnel from Craig Cares take care of my mother, who has Parkinson's. The personnel they sent did a fine job more times than not. They were very helpful and responsive. The cost of taking care of the elderly is expensive and Craig Cares is expensive. Nonetheless, we were pleased with their services and responsiveness. Companies such as those involved in elderly care have a real challenge because of the needs they must try and meet. While I would have gladly recommended Craig Cares to others, I cannot in good faith. We were late in making a payment and while I cannot criticize them for referring the matter out to collection, when I called to pay the bill directly the person I spoke to was indifferent and dismissive. When I called and spoke to Ms. Christan(Kristan) Silveira, who informed me that she was part owner, her attitude was not much different than her employee, who she defended as following the procedures. When one has paid thousands of dollars per month for many months, you would hope that the ability to communicate would be better than the experience I had. I would not recommend this company to those in need if you are seeking a constructive relationship. I will pay my bill directly which is what I proposed to do last week but instead got "attitude". This is not what anyone needs when dealing with the situation so many are confronted with today. At no time did we ever attempt to avoid our responsibility to pay our bills. read more

My husband and I turned to Craig Cares when we were unable to find male caregivers at other agencies. We started with just 4 hours once a week but when faced with an emergency need for 24 hour coverage, we found it with Craig Cares! Within 5 hours of requesting help, they had assigned great caregivers to cover our need. I was amazed and very grateful for their swift response. I've used Craig Cares for several years, to provide a caregiver for my mom, who has Parkinson's Disease. I couldn't be more impressed. Craig Cares matched us with an amazing caregiver, who has been not just a caregiver for my mom, but a friend to our family. Our caregiver started when mom was still living in her home, and she has stayed with mom now that she is in an assisted living facility, and she has even accompanied mom through several hospitalizations. I live about 90 miles away from mom and don't know what I'd do without Craig Cares. Our caregiver gets mom to and from her medical appointments, and even handles the technology for video calls. The whole organization is wonderful - their billing system is clear and convenient, and their staff have arranged for substitute caregivers whenever it is necessary. Before we tried Craig Cares, we had had several wonderful carers who unfortunately had to move out of state for further studies, family reasons, etc. This was our first attempt to let an agency find a carer for us instead of ourselves. Craig Cares staff are evidently well trained in sounding polite and making all the promises you want to hear--don't believe them!! I could not believe how thoroughly they lie through their teeth, and after just two days of interaction with Craig Cares and their carers, I knew to flee from their so-called 'services.' The problem after that was that they kept sending us bills for payment, insisting on being paid for overtime for actual medical errors that their carer had done on my mom. If anything, Craig Cares should be paying us for personal injury and their false advertisement and breach of oral contract. I've been too nice in trying to peacefully resolve the conflict, while Craig Cares staff have continued to promise to adjust the bill but don't (read: three times!!) and their co-owner even failed to show up for a scheduled appointment with me to resolve the matter. I am necessarily contacting third-party intervention now. Dealing with Craig Cares has been unbelievably stressful, and anyone who wants to spare themselves hours of frustration trying to deal with the most dishonest company I have ever experienced would be wise to stay far away! Don't send your loved one to this company--you cannot trust Craig Cares to care about anything except a wad of cash while they sweet talk you into thinking otherwise. Buyer/Hirer beware, and take a good, hard look at this company and how they do business before you might foolishly ask for their 'services.' read more

I needed last minute care for my husband who was terminal. Lucky for me, my daughter found Craig Cares. They went above and beyond to find caregivers for my husband even though it was a weekend. We had three different young women to our home and all three treated my husband with kindness and compassion. Along with that they were able to tell him no (he couldn't get out of bed - safety issue) in a way that was kind yet firm. The woman who answered had a gravelly voice, television on loud in the background,and could not answer even one of my questions. Believe it or not she could not even tell me the costs or how I could get services.
