It was easy enough to make an appointment online, and there was a plethora of appointments available. I picked 9 am, hoping wait time wouldn't be too long. We were the first ones there, and we got checked in right away. The waiting room was clean and there was even a charging station! The nurse called us in less than 5 minutes, and because it was connected to Cone health network, all prior information was available to them, as well as the summary after-visit on My Charts. Both the nurse and the PA, listened to our concerns and I thought the care and check up was efficient and thorough. Lickety split, I had 3 RXs sent to the local pharmacy, and we were out in no time. One thing to keep in mind, even though you do make an appointment online, it will depend on what other emergencies come through, and typical approach of triage would dictate if someone comes in with a more serious issue, they might be seen before you. My advice always be prepared with an iPad, earbuds and a bottle of water! It will make wait times more palatable. Also recommend bringing in a mask.

Today while parking, I noticed a sign for a farmers market in front of the building. There appeared to be individuals selling honey, fruit, vegetables, and other items on the side of the building. Today my appointment was scheduled on the 3rd floor at the Surgical Specialties Clinic. This floor appears to still have some ongoing construction on one end. Thankfully the elevator made this a convenient and painless trip to my appointment. It was easy to find where I needed to go. This was a very calm and spacious floor during my visit. I even had a nice view while waiting. The VA now has a check-in online option for your appointments. They will text you with a link to do so. If you're not signed up for text notifications, you may ask the staff for assistance to set this up. I still chose to check in with the desk as well. This option could be useful if you're in a rush or simply want to use your device to check in quickly. The reception staff, nurses, and doctors were pleasant and willing to address any questions or concerns I had. I've had past experiences in other clinics here that weren't as pleasant but I have seen progress during my most recent visits with this. There was a bit of a delay with being called to the back for my appointment, which is something that is usually a gamble. Hopefully, this is something that can become better over time as well. If anything that was my only issue today.

Specifically told the doctor whose name is Oxford Williams that I didn't want him to take Steroid medication. Gave the address of the pharmacy then he left to put it in the system. Came in with 3 paper printout prescriptions. He explained that their system is down and couldn't do it. He then asked me again which medicine I did not want. He took one prescription out. Turns out he took the most important medicine. Probably by MISTAKE!!! But that SINGLE mistake could cause someone's life!!! You can tell that many of the staff are passionate in their roles and genuinely care about their patients, visitors and guests. They do their best to make sure everyone is comfortable; at least the ones I came into contact with. If you are looking for care and don't want to feel anxious and overstimulated, please give this hospital a try. It may be relatively small, but it does deliver in the services it provides without the heavy traffic of Baptist and Forsyth Medical Center. I'm not knocking Forsyth and Baptist as they are also great hospitals but if you are looking for one that feels more like home and peaceful, this is the route to take.

They provided anything I needed, including personal care items, specific dietary needs, and even entertainment. It was a scary time for me, and I could feel that the nursing staff were doing all they could to alleviate any anxiety I had. Even the dietary department mad me feel like a queen. There was limited number of things I could eat, but they made sure those items were fresh and delicious. I am so grateful for everyone involved in my care there. I have written on their cards to shout out each individual who I remembered, but I wanted to share my experience here has well. Something good is going on in Kernersville at this Hospital.
