Bar dining area How is it that molten chocolate cake with it moltey chocolatey goodness topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream makes the preceding meal go away... and quickly. Even after finding the crusted, fire of the gods fused on crumb of food on the bottom of my spoon... the chocolate still made me happy. I did try to not lick the speed bump of food on the bottom of my spoon. Harbor town, they specialize in fish so i ordered the sole fillet in a wine sauce. What i get is a rolled up sole fillet smothered in something of a hollandaise sauce... luckily it didn't splash over onto my boiled new potatoes. Bland would have been an undeserving rave review for the flavorless tornado rolls of fish I was served. I had such high hopes too after the mini terrine of seafood chowder - hot- with topped with an over cooked half strip of bacon... pancetta for the gourmands. Overall come for the gym and nicely appointed rooms... tomorrow night I explore the tastes of Portsmouth thank you Yelp for expanding your domination of the Universe.

We were warmly welcomed and our room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, (as are the pub patrons and most of the city's residents!) Each of the 10 rooms is unique and the common areas throughout this historic building are attractively appointed with maritime photos, pictures, artifacts, and books celebrating the city and its shipping industry. The restaurant provides a very hearty breakfast and in the evening, serves delicious English fare.

All the food was really good and the general consensus was that it was above average for the price. We also had starters and I can heartily recommend the goat's cheese parcels. There was a good selection of drinks with a couple or real ales such as Abbot. I guess the drinks were normal hotel prices and pretty reasonable. The restaurant itself was very pleasant and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was piping hot and served in a timely manner. Well worth a visit if you are in Fareham.

The got the plaza room which featured a lounge/business section behind the actual bedroom area. The room was quite lovely though lacked good lighting in this annex which made working at the desk slightly challenging. The breakfast is a complimentary buffet (the best kind of buffet) and the selection is comparable to average Marriott spreads. The gym is humble but has a few machines and weights which will fulfill the light-work-out-seeking gym-goer. Also there is a huge Sainsbury about a 6 minute walk away for your everyday needs/supplies. The whole place has a very laid back attitude, helpful when asked and hands-off otherwise. The price was extremely good and the only things I have to say which are even the least bit negative is that it is a bit in the middle of nowhere and it is a bit mazy as you may have to walk quite a bit around the perimeter if your room is the center back of the building.

It's like walking into Grandmas house- very comfy and cozy, displayed glassware, and wonderful smells!!! We sat at a window seat so we could people watch, and ordered the goat cheese/croutons as an appetizer, tomato soup and slaw for my lunch and hubs had the 'streaky bacon' which was a wonderfully tender ham steak with apples and roasted veggies. It was all very tasty, I had a glass of wine and hubs had a local beer. 46 pounds total. We love their farm to table meals and we'd definitely be back. Service was friendly and efficient.
