After five years of procrastinating, I finally decided to do something about the landscape lighting situation. 25 years old, the lights that work are an ugly yellow, and most of the lighting fixtures were completely corroded (aluminum on the coast is not ideal, to say the least). After taking a look at Yelp reviews, I reached out to four companies, and Gus with PLL was by far the most professional of the four. He came out, I described the look I was going for - and he proposed a brand of lighting that was made of brass (so wouldn't corrode), with 5k lumens (so, white!) - with a combination of landscape lighting and highlighting. Called Gus to improve our outdoor landscape lighting. We have a large yard with slopes and had way too many dark places. Gus installed spotlights on key palm and specimen trees, walking path lights, lights along the top of wrought iron fences, and other areas to make the backyard really "pop". Gus Klammer/Premier Landscape Lighting was called by me in a panic after an electrical line from a well light with a concrete surround illuminating an outdoor sculpture was cut by another electrician and found to be dead. He was unable to find the main line or junction and told me that I would need to engage a wire finding service followed by an electrician specializing in landscape lighting in order to restore power to the well light. Instead, I Googled and found Gus Klammer/Premier Landscape Lighting on YELP. I read his five star reviews and was buoyed with confidence that he might be just the person to figure this out without thousands of dollars of damage to concrete & landscaping. Gus answered the phone immediately. I explained my problem and he arranged to come out the next morning. A couple of hours later, my issue was solved with no damage to hardscape or landscape. My sculpture is back to its original illuminated state. He also checked my other sculpture lights to ensure that they were in good working order and addressed the illumination of a tree that was no longer ideal due to the growth of the tree and its canopy. He arrived on time with all of the necessary tools and supplies, competently addressed the issue quickly including trenching that was necessary to restore power to the fixture. One of the reasons why I called Gus was because of his great reviews, and when I called he personally answered the call. He explained about his company and wanted me to visit a site where he purchased his fixtures. All his products have a ten year warranty. He came out to our house within days and offered his creative expertise and gave us a very professional bid. Gus did a great job on our project. Gus installed quality products that resist the costal elements. He had great ideas for what we were asking for our lighting project and the needs of our house. Gus also allowed a great deal of flexibility by giving us the chance to see what things looked like in the evening before committing to any of the fixtures or the brightness at any one spot (he would easily move anything we requested). Gus is very reliable and professional!! He shows up on time and does great work. Gus fixed and re-wired our outdoor light fixtures, waterfall pump, and outdoor speakers. He converted our halogen bulbs to LED bulbs, other low voltage electricians had told me that I would need to replace all my light fixtures if I wanted LED, but Gus explained that is not necessary and he can put LED bulbs into our existing fixtures. A few of the light fixtures were broken and he replaced them with nice durable new fixtures that look similar to our existing light fixtures. He said to call him anytime to replace any LED bulb, and that he guarantees the LED bulbs for 5 years. Gus is the best low voltage electrician in the Carlsbad/Encinitas area! We used his services with our first home and he designed everything and helped create beautiful lighting throughout our yard. At our first home we wanted to create a tropical oasis with a edible garden. Gus deigned and built a giant pergola and fence around our yard that made it very private and allowed us to grow several varieties of grapes, trumpet vines, giant jasmine, bougainvillea and passion fruit vines. Around the fence and pergola yard we planted kentia palms, king palms, bamboo, black bamboo, hibiscus, plumeria's, banana plants, mango, citrus and apple trees. All of these plants thrived and Gus helped create our tropical oasis, and set up our drip system and light everything to highlight the natural beauty of the garden that was nice to relax and entertain in. Premier Landscape Lighting now focuses just on lighting design and installation. Because of Gus's vast knowledge in landscaping design as a whole it allows him to understand the whole picture and how to illuminate your garden to enhance its beauty to the fullest. When we moved we knew we needed Premier Landscaping Lighting again to help illuminate our tropical oasis. At our new house the lighting was partially done but rusted out and so it was complicated but Gus worked diligently to figure out solutions to the lighting problems and upgraded our lighting to LED to be more energy efficient.
