Then I received the bid the next day. After we went into contract his team showed up and started the work. It was started on Monday and pouring concrete on Saturday. They were great to work with and respected our house. What I especially appreciated was the care they took to ensure nothing around the house was damaged. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend SK Concrete to anyone for their big or small project.

It is a flagstone patio in which he poured a concrete slab, let it set, then came back and set large pieces of flagstone on top in mortar while considering and making the drainage perfect. Not an easy task and needed an absolute professional and forward and smart thinker about the end project. Art Tarantino saw it all immediately and delivered in spades. I did get several other bids, he was the high end of the other bids, and had a longer wait time, but we are so glad we waited and went with him. His bid was true and we paid the exact estimate (no massive up charge at the end due to....you know the game). Can't recommend Tarantino Masonry enough, it's worth the wait!

I was given an excellent variety of bricks/blocks to choose for the wall, and the one I chose was competently installed. I was pleased to note the block I chose would be sourced from RCP in Chula Vista, where I have been a regular customer. The two workers agreed to relocate the existing pavers for my reuse as part of the original job. I really appreciated that. Although I was in no hurry, the job was completed quite expeditiously with the exception of the iron gate, the installation of which was subcontracted (and reviewed separately). The final results please me immensely. A&F solved a major problem, and I recommend the company to all.

He also measured the existing bricks on another tree box in my yard so that he could find bricks to match. On both days of the project, Luis and his coworker showed up on time and did excellent, careful work. I love how they cut the brick into little triangles to make the corners look good. The tree box looks amazing and is a big upgrade from what I had before. The price was exactly as quoted, and Luis gave me a receipt showing the material costs. I highly recommend Luis and Concrete Creations SD and would be happy to work with them again!

In fact, his proposal included everything needed to properly prepare and establish a healthy lawn, while other estimates we received were significantly more expensive and included less. Michael recommended St. Augustine grass because we have a large dog, and within a week, his team was ready to start the project. He explained the entire process ahead of time and gave me detailed guidance about the watering schedule, mowing schedule, and recommended equipment for maintaining the new lawn. The crew was amazing--efficient, professional, polite, and extremely hardworking. Carlos, the crew lead, was especially impressive. He is calm, knowledgeable, and very detail-oriented. He listened carefully to every concern I had and made sure everything was addressed properly. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and they even installed a fence that we provided to protect the new lawn from foot traffic and our dog while it gets established. The finished lawn looks absolutely beautiful. The new sprinkler system is quiet, efficient, and works perfectly. They used new, quality materials and clearly did not cut corners anywhere in the project. Some things I wish I knew then that I know now might help others when planning their yards. Yes, Smart Landscape does a lovely job. Here's what would have made my upkeep a lot easier. 1. Extra protection ground cover to eliminate weeds. Some yards get no weeds because a super heavy cover has been used. I've spent countless hours pulling weeds since yards were done. 2. Go over what plants are going to be used. If I'd done that, I would've saved money and work to remove those that had needles that made it difficult/dangerous to remove. 3. If the designer had visited front yard, he would have seen the slight slope and the DG pathway would not have been a logical design choice. Rain washes it away and I'll have to eventually figure out a way to close up that space. 4. At that time, I didn't meet with the designer. I should have. Although it's a lovely design, I would have pointed out a change or two I'd have preferred. 5. Gray DG is not readily available and it has been difficult to keep the pathway refreshed. Someone said that he was going to provide it, but never did. Overall, I am glad I hired Smart Landscape. UPDATE: I needed to come back to add another star after carefully considering how wonderful Danny and his team are to work with. I had met with no fewer than nine landscape companies before Smart Landscape and they were nightmares for various reasons. Danny is wonderful to work with and makes sure the customer is happy.

Aaron was our sales contact, and he answered all my questions before I signed which made us feel good about using them and had some good suggestions. Their model of doing whatever we need and mixing with what other contractors we use is great; we for example purchased a quartzite slab for the kitchen and Rock N Block did the rest. The prices were very reasonable as well, and looking at the end product I think it was a great deal. The rest of the team, Alexis and Jose, did a great job keeping us updated and keeping our property clean. I'm not sure who the guys were that did the counter build, I think it was someone and his two adult kids, but they did an incredible job and it seemed like they took the time to do quality work. The rest of the project ran into some difficulty with the electrical hookup and gas move, but Jose still got the work done on time and worked well with our countertop fabricator to coordinate what they needed and when to install Overall went really well and would recommend them for any sort of hardscape project.

My husband and I have had an eyesore for a front yard for years and finally had enough. The gopher holes, overgrown shrubs, and unevenness left the entire area completely unusable. After a lot of research, I called Sunny Builders Group. I was surprised the receptionist, (a live human!), answered. She was so helpful and answered all my initial questions. Once I met Sharon and Keme at our consultation I knew I was hiring the right company because they were knowledgeable, worked with my budget and showed up on time! Sharon and Keme were honest, friendly, patient, and committed to delivering an awesome result. They were flexible and very responsive with calls, texts, photos, and videos. I have not received this level of service in my life. Our job included demolition, installing turf, fixing erosion problems, installing drip system, and landscaping. Sharon introduced me to the construction workers who would be performing the work, and I always knew who the lead worker was. Big shout out to builders Timothy, Alex, Margarito, Robert, Juan and two others (I apologize I failed to gather their names). Every worker was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely polite. Dozens of neighbors comment on the friendliness and approachability of the workers during the job. On top of that, a section of the turf has been burned due to window reflection--something that was never disclosed or even mentioned as a potential issue during the project. When I reached out to the company to come take a look, I was told it wasn't covered under warranty and they refused to even come out to assess it. For the amount of money we invested, that level of customer service is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience overall. I would not recommend this company, especially considering their lack of accountability after taking such a large payment.

When Adaya (who sold us the job) had to go out of town, the transition to Roni was completely seamless while Adaya still stayed in the loop remotely. It proved how stellar the whole team really is. Furthermore, the contractor under-reported our $24,331 contract to the City of Imperial Beach on the permit valuation as only $3,786.75 (an 84% discrepancy). We have fulfilled 100% of our financial obligations to close out the contract, but an active investigation has been requested with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB Complaint #S F 2025016199) regarding their permit reporting and management practices. He checked in with me daily to explain what work was being done, answer questions, and offer suggestions for design improvements and additional repairs. We ended up taking several of his recommendations and are very happy with the results. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the quality of work, communication, and how efficiently the project was completed. The only concern I had was with some exposed rebar in the hot tub that, in my opinion, should have been replaced rather than patched over. NADB assured me that this would not cause any issues and explained that this approach helped keep costs down. While I was initially hesitant, I appreciated their transparency and honesty.
