Was denied care for having an Attorney, at the East Norriton Office, they did not tell me this when scheduling appointment, and I lost time from work by going to this appointment. I asked to speak to the Office Manager who conveniently wasen't there, and who would not get on the phone with me. I broke my leg the Friday before Christmas, late afternoon, in a blowing snowstorm. I called Rothman, Presby, Penn, Jefferson ... and nobody would take me, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise - because this practice is the BEST medical provider I have EVER experienced. Dr. Zamarin's office without hesitation said "Come right over, don't worry about the money". Upon arriving I was seen immediately by the surgeon, not a PA or NP. After examining me he explained everything in detail, showed me everything he was doing on his computer screen, explained the X-rays and specifics of the injury in detail, and set me up for surgery. He would have done it right on the spot if much of the hospital staff had not already been let go early due to the severe weather. Surgery went fine, the Taylor Hospital staff were efficient, attentive, and kind, and since then, this doctor and his staff have been nothing short of wonderful. "Patient-focused care every step of the way" is not just an advertising slogan - followup appointments were on time, EVERY time. Doctor Z explained everything clearly, answered all my questions thoughtfully and fully, never rushed me, gave me clear instructions and timelines for each goal towards rehabbing the leg, ankle, and foot, and had me walking in only 10 weeks after a complex fracture. Communication between the doctor and his office staff is also always clear; the staff got everything right every time, were unfailingly kind, professional and efficient - even responding to my employer's numerous demands for information THE SAME DAY they received the requests. I cannot say enough about this medical practice; this is old-fashioned, compassionate, attentive and truly supportive medical care the likes of which patients rarely receive these days. My whole experience was much more bearable since I was able to relax, knowing they really had my back the whole way. Thanks for everything Dr Z and staff! read more

I went there today to treat my fractured ankle. I have to say these people went above and beyond. My primary physician refused to give a referral as I did not go to see them first. I am on crutches and there is still snow and ice on the ground. They went out of their way to make sure I was able to be seen and diagnosed that day. After losing it on the phone with my primary physician (I am not usually like that, but I have had a trying week outside of a fractured leg), they picked up on that, could tell I was at the end of my rope, and they did anything to make sure I got to see a doctor. After a time on the phone, and offering them anything they needed to get me seen, I was able to see a doctor. A doctor mind you that was in surgery all day, happened to still be working, heard of my situation and made sure he saw me. He casted my leg, scheduled surgery to put screws in my ankle, and I couldn't thank him enough (he's doing my surgery as well). After getting casted, and scheduling surgery I met with the admitting nurse who said to me that she could tell how upset I was by all this and wanted to make sure I was treated that day. Everyone who works there was helpful, intelligent and cared. I am glad to be going there for surgery on Thursday. Needless to say, I am changing my primary care after this incident, and hope to speak to their manager after being told something to the effect of "if you knew about health insurance you would know this". That may be the case, but I am a man with a broken leg, limited travel options and time, and needed this looked at today before it healed incorrectly requiring more surgery. I recently went to PO and saw Dr Malumed for pain in my leg while running. I reported no injury but they insisted on an X-ray before seeing a nurse or a doctor. Guess what, the X-ray showed no fracture. Not surprising since I didn't sustain any injury but they were happy to bill me and my insurance for the radiological exam. I saw the doctor for all of a couple minutes. He maybe looked me in the eye a couple times. All over just seemed very disinterested and acted like he would rather be somewhere else. He pawned me off on to therapy which didn't help. On my follow up visit he literally said well I don't know what's causing it. Could be this. Could be that. I can offer you surgery but other then that I don't know what to tell you. Now keep in mind this guy is supposed to be the top doc here and PO is THE orthopedist for some of our Philly sports teams. I expected more than a brief exam and a I don't know what's wrong. No real interest in getting to the bottom of things or running test or anything. And very quick to bring up surgery as an option. This place is a big assembly line if patients where the name of the game is to get as many in as possible, spend as little time as possible with each person, send them on their way and make sure you bill insurance for as much as you can. My suggestion is to do your research and find a better doctor and practice that actually cares about their patients and really has an interest in seeing them get better. read more
