I had an appt with Dr Sharkey and he was two and half hours late to that appt. All I got was oh sorry and we think you would be a better for with a different doctor!! So basically my time is not as valuable as the doctors!!! Unbelievable!!! Worst service ever!!! Don't recommend!!! read more

For an Achilles issue I was in and out in 1.5 hrs. Lest you not think that incredible, the visit included: - Doing the new patient paperwork - Xrays - Pre-Physician review of my health history with a healthcare provider who prepped this for the Doctor. - Visit with Dr. Ahmad, who in my opinion asked all the right questions. The diagnosis and care were clearly explained. Then came my many questions and concerns which were professionally answered in layman's terms with the perfect amount of humanity. - Professional fitting for the boot I have to wear with a very kind,caring and knowledgeable techie ( Forgot her name). RI is a well oiled machine at this location. From the front desk, to the techies, to the physicians. They all know their roles and it truly is a Team effort here. 1.5 hrs! I am still stunned by this and forever spoiled. Absolute perfection! 01/21/16 Update: Rothman Institute Physical Therapy Department Post diagnosis I entered the PT department and had an equally great experience. Mickey was my PT technician and I could not have asked for anyone better. She is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, firm- yet caring. She really knows her stuff ! Very Disappointed in Rothman Institute located in Media Pa. Especially Dr. Rihn I drove 2 hours for a consultation only to have 4 x-rays that were never discussed with me, Then had my recent MRI discredited by Dr.Rihn. who was in the office with me for less then 15 minutes. Blew me off saying my problem is arthritis and I should see a neurologist, I guess Dr.Rihn forgot The Spine has nerves which can and are impacted by a bad spine and facets. Totally worthless trip. I guess Dr.Rihn blew off because I was not a surgery candidate and currently on pain medicine. I only wanted him to explain all of my issues with my back. He did not give me the time of day. I urge others to avoid Rothman and this doctor. read more

My husband had a minor surgical procedure at Rothman's Surgi-Center on the 4th Floor and he was well cared for - but there was a long wait (we arrived at 8 AM and he was prepped right away but not seen by the doctor until close to 11:30 AM. Eek.) We got outta there just after 1 PM. Follow-up care and administrative staff seemed good also. read more

Dr Eric Smith did my left knee replacement 11/14/18, he corrected my rt knee partial replacement that was done by another dr. When I knew I had to do lt knee he was the one I trusted to do it . I had some issues with my knee and often talked to his Pa Derek and Amy concerning problems , they got back to me fast , they responded to the patient portal with answers to my questions . I did the survey at the Limerick Surgical Center it was a good experience. I am experiencing Back issues , Dr smith recommended an Mri we discussed the results I am going to see the back dr on Tuesday ( not related to the surgery ). I would recommend Dr Smith again. He is happy with the results of the surgery and so am I. Both of my parents had their knees replaced by Dr Good with Rothman , Keeping it in the family . Considering current conditions one would think a phone call, text message or email canceling your appointment would be in line? After a 45 minute drive, got told my appointment was cancelled last night. I have no record of such cancellation so obviously it never happened. Thanks for bringing me out in this environment for nothing! I received an "I'm sorry"! Although I am sure no one will pay for my 1.5 hours wasted time, the wear and tear on my vehicle and the time I will have to take for a rescheduled appointment. read more

My husband went to Rothman thinking he had sciatica. Wrong. The doctors there after taking x-rays saw he needed a new hip. Dr. Sharkey did the surgery and he is the best. What a beautiful job he did. Everyone on his care team, especially Kim, are outstanding. Everytime we have a question and contacted Kim, she immediately gets back to us. Everyone at Rothman that we have come in contact with are wonderful, pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Rothman, Media to anyone who needs their help. read more

I was receiving physical therapy (PT) for a reattached bicep tendon. I had been going their for ~3 1/2 months and had made progress in flexibility and strength but was still having pain issues. After a checkup appointment with my surgeon and a new PT script, I made another PT appointment. I called and left messages daily but no one returned my call for 1 week and then the first appointment was 1 week out. This caused me to delay my checkup appointment with my surgeon. Due to his availability, it was delayed ~1 month. When I went to my PT appointment, my physical therapist (Dot) said "What are you doing here?" and then lectured me the full 1-hour appointment on the real purpose of physical therapy (apparently it is not for people with arm pain following reattachment surgery). She told me that I was forcing her to lie on a medical form to say that my PT was medically necessary. She inferred that I went to my surgeon and asked/demanded to return to PT (which was not true). I left extremely upset and embarrassed to sit in the PT office with other patients coming in with her lecturing me. I will NEVER return to the Media PT office of the Rothman Institute and will NEVER have Dot be my physical therapist again! read more

Will not return to this place. Had an appointment for which I arrived 15 minutes early. When it was more than 45 minutes after my appointment time, I approached the desk to see what the problem was and was informed this doctor was running behind schedule. I told them I'd have to reschedule since I had an evening appointment to get to. They told me they were just getting the room ready for me and that the doctor had said he really needed to see me that day, rather than my rescheduling. Ultimately, it was another 20 minute wait once in that exam room before the doctor came in. He was rude and he even had changed out of his white coat and was in a hurry to leave. He insisted on prescribing a walking boot and cobbled together some inserts since they didn't have the right ones on hand. He was also dismissive rather than listening when I mentioned some job requirements that I couldn't meet with the treatment he was prescribing. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from an orthopedic doctor not associated with this practice and found out that the treatment prescribed was not necessary. Additionally, routinely, Rothman billed for co-pays that had already been paid at the visit and once they even billed my insurance company for something that had been returned to them (and I had gotten a letter from them stating there would be nothing billed). Luckily, I was able to alert my insurance company and let them battle that one out with Rothman. read more

I had carpel tunnel surgery, that got infected, breaking my arm and having a steel plate and 9 screws put in, all in the matter of 2 months. Now, to have to deal with my stenosis is more than I can take. The times I have to call The Rothman Institute to get an answer about my epidural not working, was so stressful. 4 days in a row, of calling and leaving messages??? I left them to the PA, Lesly, she claims she never received any??? and his assistant that does the paper work while he gives the epidural. never got her name. Who said she called back and left me a message. I got one of them yesterday and it said nothing!!! So I drove back there after being there for PT that very morning, to get some info in person. Because I knew they were there on Thurs. It was worth it because NOW I have lumbar caudal epidural, scheduled for next week. It took Mon to Wed of walking around with my cell phone, like it was part of my body waiting for a call, to have to confront them in person to get some answers. The whole call and leave a message should be fixed for some doctors. I will say Dr. Getz and his nurse Lauren are great. You call and leave a message and with in a hour or two she returns your call. read more

So glad I went to the Rothman Institute to have knee surgery on my meniscus. I saw Dr. Brahmabhatt. He was very professional, informative, and eager to get me into surgery quickly so that I could begin the 4-6 week recovery as soon as possible. I was just a number. Dr. Sharkey was great - I would love to have him do my surgery but the staff is SO terrible and I will go elsewhere. No organization, can't get anyone on hte phone as everything goes to VM. I have waited for over 30 minutes on multiple days to try to reach a real person for questions or pre-op issues without succuess. The office manager set up pre-op appointments but the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing and anesthesia never called as scheduled, the pre-admission testing unit didn't know I was coming and cancelled me. This was a HUGE waste of a lot of time. The Philly Rothman tradition apparently continues in Media - you are nothing but a number here and will waste a lot of time because patients do not come first. read more

To whom it may concern, I've been a patient of Rothman Institute in media,pa, I've had great luck,and treatments from dr Jeffrey Gehret, dr Pedro b,and treatment from dr mehallo.but this time I went to make my appointment with dr Gehret due to months of pain in my left butt cheek, not being able to stand long,can't sit at all, can't lift per my family doctor all without extremely painful in my low back and butt into behind knee on left side rothman sets me up with not a surgeon who treated me prior but a nurse practitioner, without even asking me ,what kind off work I do? Never put in my disability paperwork I paid 20 dollars to fill out, that my neck and shoulders were also giving me pain, I needed a surgeon,not a practitioner. My family doctor told me I can't lift ,stand,or sit long,took me out of work 3/15/18 to go get the proper help I need, .
