I live at Arbor Terrace in Middletown, New Jersey. FOX Rehabilitation is the in-house occupational and physical therapy company here. I have been in P/T and O/T many times in my life and this has been my best experience. They never take it easy on you but rather meet you where you are and establish goals to get you to the next level. I am far stronger and mobile than I was when arrived. Truly a delightful group of therapists to work with. I've witnessed them build one on one relationships with each patient and all resulting in positive results- emotionally and physically. I love my trainer. I hate this company. They're nasty. I started using them after a brain injury from a fall. I forgot my password. I called to get it? Know what? I was told "You're an adult and adults have to take responsibility for their actions. Call in a few weeks and MAYBE we'll give it to you. " I was also supposed to have TWO trainers for different aspects of my recovery. They didn't have a second one available when I began early in January. Know what ? AS of mid February, apparently they still don't. I'm guessing since no one called or sent an email. Look for someone else. read more

I have spoken to at least 8 different people and every one has promised an update and phone call the following day. Never once has anybody called back. Local PT organization ended therapy with my wife and arranged for Fox to continue home PT. Two days later Fox calls and emails information and says they will contact us in 2 weeks. Afterno follow up I call them and they say regional manager will call us within 5 business days. After 10 days no call back so I call them. Again they say regional manager will call within 5 business days. After another 10 days I have to call them. They say the same thing. The following week call canter calls to say there's no one available in our area. It took them 7 weeks to say no one is available and we only spoke to the call center. We spoke to 2 different healthcare peoplewho said that they know people in the town next to us receiving vare from Fox. My wife needed home PT. Foc did nothing professionally. Dealing with Fox was a needless waste of time. I don't know if anyone in their call center overseas knows how to use Google Map read more

This is our first experience with Fox Rehab and my husband's therapist was beyond amazing! Her name is Becky McGill and if you need someone that is motivational, skilled especially with high needs and always coming up with new and innovative challenges.... SHE is the one! I can go on and on in gratitude for how she works with her clients. My husband has been extremely disabled (from a cerebral hemorrhage) for almost 10 years. The last year, he had a major decline both physically and mentally. After just a few months working with Becky he is doing things that he hasn't been able to do in over 10 years! Our time is ending with Becky very soon as we will be leaving this area for 6 months, but look forward to next year when we are back to be working with her again. this review is about a regional manager not PTs. the NY regional has harassed me, defamed me and will not stop. I have hundreds of egrigious texts from her and have repeatedly told her to stop texting me but she won't. I fired her but she won't stop. on top of that I can't find anyone at Fox to make her stop. tonight she started to email me and an assisted living center staff defaming me yet again. any ideas to make it stop? I won't do business with them again. on top of that they over billed me and won't issue a refund. I didn't know until I called on another issue about PT that I never approved or asked about starting again. Seems like They basically billed Medicare, supplemental insurance and me. This is a national organization that has had issues with Medicare. They have quality therapists but the management is marginal. They dropped service for my wife who has a degenerative neurological condition with rational being "Company Policy." No opportunity for appeal and totally against doctors orders. I've had a run of crappy medical professionals lately. I was cautiously optimistic with what I'd get with FOX. They were able to get me on the schedule relatively quickly, and were very easy to work with. Their Regional Director, Sunshine was also always available and helpful. I had the absolute BEST physical therapist. Being weak and unsure with serious limitations (some I could not overcome due to the lack of pain management). Josh worked with me where I was. He helped me to regain some of the strength I lost due to hospital negligence. I would highly recommend Fox based on my interaction with Sunshine and Josh. read more

Their therapists are fantastic, they built a great relationship with my father and helped him maintain a good quality of life - 5 stars for them! The negative is their accounting and customer service, roughly 2 years ago we caught an overcharge of several hundred dollars - they charged for the same service multiple times - and it took almost 9 months to get the credit back. I wrote it off as a one time error but they are at it again. Dad passed away and we received new bills from Fox, review showed that the services were already paid. Every time I submit proof of payment, they send another bill with the same services and an additional one. By the statement and payment amounts, it looks like they have also sent duplicate bills to Medicare. Their customer service sounds like it's in a call center, probably outsourced to "save money", and they do nothing to help - 6 months into this round and the bills are getting larger with no resolution in sight. read more

My mom passed away. And after she did, the family got a bill from FOX. The bill part is understandable. I called FOX and asked if they would consider giving us a compassion discount. I thought since they are in the business to be compassionate, they would consider reducing the bill in light of the fact that mom is now gone. There answer was a hard NO. They said its not SOP. Standard operating procedure. Maybe I shouldn't have expected a discount. But a small discount would have gone a long way in making us feel better, if only for just a minute. read more

**UPDATE** Received a call this morning from the local finance team in NJ and they apologized for the misinformation, saying they don't know why the rep in India told me what he told me. Since I paid by CC, they can refund it back to the card with the normal 5-10 biz day wait. Updated the rating to a 4. Original Post: Hard to select an appropriate star rating because the therapists we had were wonderful, BUT I can't get past the outsourcing and their SOPs. We had Ashley and Allison for PT and OT, and they were both so good to my parents in every way. Understanding and gentle and helpful and friendly. And for that reason I would recommend. They kept us updated on the paperwork, kept in contact if they had to cancel or change the schedule, were understanding when we had to cancel due to illness or other. Just really couldn't have asked for any better care. BUT I made a payment on the patient portal and the payment was duplicated somehow either from my end or their end. Whatever, that happens. But this was over 2 months ago. I just discovered the issue now when reviewing my cc payments and bills, which included a new bill asking for payment for recent services. The new invoice amount was less than the overpayment, so it should have already been covered by the overpayment and the account should have shown a credit. Instead, they were asking for more money. If I wasn't reviewing my CC statements at the same time, I would have paid this invoice as I know it was outstanding. I had to call India who is now acknowledging the overpayment and told me they will refund the difference via check, and that it will take ONE TO TWO MONTHS because of their "official process" it has to go through. Bad bad SOP on resolving the overcollection. I'm convinced if I hadn't noticed the error they would have kept it. Time will tell if I'll see the refund. read more

Absolutely the worst Patient Portal I have ever seen. Payments don't show up in a timely manner if at all. Balances are always incorrect. I have to keep accurate records of payments and sessions to keep from over paying on the account. They call regularly for more payments even though I'm way ahead in the billing process. The therapists however are wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. read more

Disha, my mother's at-home physical therapist from Fox Rehabilitation, is an amazing practitioner. She has had many physical therapists over the years owing to severe orthopedic issues and Disha is the creme de la creme. My mom just had a total knee replacement and is gearing up for another and she could not be in finer hands. Disha tailors the at-home sessions so expertly, analyzing every last aspect of my mom's particular orthopedic situation and her goals and finding the perfect sequence of exercises and giving easily understandable and implemented instructions for my mom for sessions my mom can do on her own. She's very hands-on and she takes so much time. Disha's compassionate and easy-going but also pushes my mom just the right amount. My mom, who is not exactly the most motivated of clients, looks forward to her sessions with Disha, works hard with relative cheer, and has made very noticeable improvements while under her incredible care. PTs are as important as surgeons when it comes to the success of a joint replacement procedure (she had an AMAZING surgeon as well, Dr. Michael Cross at HSS) and we are very fortunate and grateful that Fox Rehab sent us this gem of a practitioner. I should note that can't speak to the [seemingly legitimately concerning] billing issues that some others complain of in their reviews as we haven't received bills yet (and will update accordingly should we run into the same issue) but the level of care is excellent in my mom's case. I should mention that while the address on Yelp is in NJ, my mom lives in Queens and I believe Fox services the entire city. read more

Very poor communication. Several calls regarding my mother starting speech therapy have gone unanswered. They assigned a therapist, but we have yet to have a date and time for an evaluation. Have called several times to get a call back from the therapist, which have never happened. I have had to resort to leaving messages for supervisors that will most likely go unanswered. If you care for your loved ones, avoid these people at all costs, because they sure don't care about your loved ones like you do. My mother is regressing by the day due to an unexpected hiccup with another agency, I was promised services, and had to fight tooth and nail for them, in addition to their "fax not working" to delay it. Once I threatened to go elsewhere, they suddenly found her paperwork. That should have been the red flag that made me search elsewhere. read more

I called Fox rehab for physical therapy to get services for my mom and was asked to submit doctor's referral document. I did and called three times to schedule an appointment and habe been told three times now that someone will call. No one has contacted me. I will find another provider but it was a very disappointing experience. read more

I am so shocked at all these negative reviews for Fox rehab. My brother has used Fox Rehab in Staten Island on two different occasions and I can't tell you how amazing every member of the staff was! In 2022 he was released from a rehab facility after suffering a brain bleed. He was bedridden in a rehab facility for PT and OT, and Covid was still an issue. Most of the time they just had him laying in bed, he did get his hour of PT and OT five times a week, but other than that one hour each day he was left in bed. He also made no effort in asking them to get him out in a wheelchair and out of his room. when his insurance company wanted him out, he was still bedridden and could not even use the bathroom on his own without assistance. we were told he could never live independently and would need assistance with most things and we should research facilities for him. They were so worried we would leave him there, that they sent him home in an ambulance. After being home a month and having to take turns staying by him because he lived alone, someone had recommended fox to us. after I called and gave the beginning information, at first I was told it would be a few weeks to get someone to that area. When I told him what an emergency it was, they got right on the ball and within a few days his first physical therapist Hannah showed up. She was absolutely amazing and eventually had my brother up and walking with assistance. her kindness and friendliness also meant a lot to my family and my brother who enjoyed his PT sessions, and it changed his whole attitude. When Hannah had to leave on maternity, Jason became his physical therapist. Jason also was wonderful and my brother continued to progress with him to the point of walking with a walker and was able to move about his apartment. then he started OT and Desai (I don't know if I'm spelling her name right) Started working with him, having him do things for himself such as making his lunch and doing things around his apartment. we were still worried about him living alone, but she was determined to get him to the point where he can do daily chores by himself. He was getting along absolutely fine but unfortunately a couple of months later he had another serious health issue which landed him back in the hospital and rehab facility. This time he bounced back a little faster because all the tools he was taught by FOX rehab. When he was released this time we called Fox once again and the day after he was released we had already set up an appointment with Mike who was his physical therapist. Mike was at the time training another therapist, I think Vlad was his name,and he also was working with my brother. They were both excellent, and kind and my brother actually looked forward to working with them. Then it was time to start with OT and Julianna came to our house to work with my brother as he continued making amazing strides with her. Unfortunately his insurance company changed And he had to stop his therapy sessions. Thank God he is doing very good on his own, and my brother and my entire family can't tell you how grateful we are to all of his therapists at Fox rehab for everything they did for him. They literally gave him his life back! He actually enjoyed every session he ever had with them! And they were so compassionate and friendly to all of us. I can't say enough about the professionalism and compassion of your team that worked with my brother. It is a feather in your cap to have such great team of people working for you! read more

My dad had an appointment today, but he was not feeling well. He was extremely fatigued. He asked me to cancel the appointment. I sent a text message to the PT, Ana Falcao, to cancel the appointment. She felt he needed to keep the appointment stating cancelling is not going to make him better. I couldn't believe it. That response is void of any compassion and understanding; very rude and insensitive. My father did NOT feel well. You don't push something on an elderly person; whether they are feeling ill or not. I told her the comment was uncalled for and rude and she simply said she feels sorry I feel that way. I reported her to FOX, but was not able to leave any details. I then told Ana I reported her and she again said, she's sorry I feel that way. This has nothing to do with me or my feelings. This is about her inappropriate behavior! There was absolutely no ownership. She deflected her gross faux pas onto how I felt, implying this is my erroneous interpretation. Her text message was loud and clear; not on me. I give this place TWO THUMBS DOWN. They are are unprofessional, have poor communication skills, and zero follow up skills. The therapist my dad had was a nice guy but never arrived on time and often changed the appoints last minute. He left the company and we've been waiting for a month for a replacement. Every time I call I am told someone will get back to me and no one does. I left a message for their regional director, Steve Bridwell March 12th and I'm still waiting for a call back. I just spoke with Jasper (a supervisor) and he hung up on me. Considering the number of rehabilitation organization available, I would absolutely not waste my time with Fox. read more

Fox Rehab recently bought Taylored LLC. The PTs from Taylor have all been fantastic. My mom got a bill from Fox Rehab for co-pays. We hadn't seen a bill in the past. I left a message from the billing page for Taylored LLC but did not receive a return call. I called the general number after researching Fox Rehab online. The recorded voice that answers the telephone sounded like a carnival barker (very loud and unprofessional). Fox needs to change this greeting, it is off-putting. The live representative was very polite but it took 15 minutes to finally get a billing address because I wanted to pay my mom's bill with a check. I did not feel comfortable giving my mom's checking information over the phone to this unknown company. Fox needs to clean up how it manages the merger of its acquisitions and re-record their phone greeting. read more

We didn't get a bill from Fox for the 20% that the Insurance didn't cover ($500+) once we were done with PT. It's a dishonest business practice. People at Fox don't want to take responsibility of this paper work instead finger point at the customer rather than deal with the big wigs insurance companies. It's unfortunate the management allows this dishonesty to be a part of their company aspect. In most cases, the insurance companies pay the provider and you owe little to the provider. In Fox's case, payment is the other way around. Giving you checks to pay the insurance company. The Fox therapists we had over the years were great but might be caught in the crossfire between their job at Fox and the customers. We have decided in the near future PT would be elsewhere rather than deal with monetary messes between Fox and the Insurance company (who by the way are in no fault just Fox). In the meantime, pay attention to your bills, it'll creep up your spine once you get the idea where is everything going and not being explained clearly? read more

Fox Rehab is a total rip-off who takes advantage of elderly people by overbilling the insurance company and providing minimal service. After 4 months my PT literally "fired" me telling me there was nothing she could do for me. There was never any game plan or consistency in the type of treatment. Scheduling was sporadic. Equipment was minimal. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of decent PTs around. read more

A friend of mine that I assist, due to intellectual disabilities, used fox rehab. He was assured that he would owe $15,00 at the most. The bill as of this moment is $5,000 I am unable to get anyone on the phone other than the billing department in a call center in India where they are rude and unprofessional. My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and severe osteoporosis. She has visited the ED on multiple occasions over the last ten years for a multiple age-related issues, most frequent of those being pain and weakness caused by advanced rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis, both bringing her level of activity down to only leaving her bed to the bathroom. During the last few years, she received therapy from at least three Fox therapists for a variety of issues. She first was treated in 2015 by Rachel, an occupational therapist, who not only helped her make a fist for the first time in over a year at the time, but also equipped Mom with a variety of tools and exercises to improve her physical ability and perform simple daily activities in her home, like doing laundry, loading the dishwasher, doing her hair, and getting dressed--simple things that become massive obstacles when you lose the ability to execute them. Later in 2016, she fell and broke her shoulder and upon discharge from the hospital received physical therapy at home from Allison, a Fox physical therapist, who Mom said, "definitely helped me improve, I can do more things. I was able to do two loads of laundry today." This year, 2018, she began complaining about issues related to speech therapy, so she was evaluated by a speech therapist named Jonross, who came to the house and showed us the various ways she could help herself improve. He was compassionate and knowledgable, and he really listened to her. Most recently, Mom fell and broke both her hip and her elbow. During her recovery from surgery, she received physical therapy from Brian, a Fox therapist who not only helped her walk again but encouraged her and helped her believe she could do much more. All of the therapists from Fox were not only highly skilled and professional, but more importantly showed Mom that they genuinely cared about her improving. They gave her confidence when she was afraid to try harder, and the results always surprised her. She didn't think some of her achievements were possible until they helped her realize that ,"yes, this is absolutely possible--and yes, you can really do it." Mom's always felt that medical professionals don't really give her the attention she needs, because she's "just an old lady." All of the Fox therapists she saw had the exact opposite mindset. They treated her with the utmost respect and gave her the attention she deserved, regardless of her age or stage of ability. She very much appreciated that, and it made her feel like she CAN get better, she CAN enjoy her life again. Thank you, Rachel, Allison, Jonross, and Brian. Thank you Fox. read more

Another problem with Fox Rehab is that they apply payments to the earliest dates of service that have been processed in their system, not necessarily to the dates of service that they billed you for. So, if you get a bill, review it and pay it in full, the next bill might say you still owe money for some of those same dates of service. What other company in the world does that? It just creates extra work for you and for them. I know it's just an IT and management problem. Just like how you can't pay by credit card via their website (in this day and age). You can call and use a credit card without any extra fee. read more

I work in the senior living community setting and attempt to find individuals and their loved ones solutions to problems they are faced with. I sought out Fox Rehab for both of my grandmothers for balance and pain management. Both women reported that they enjoyed their therapists and had no difficulties scheduling appointments. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed by the appropriate parties with good timing and care. They Talk the Talk but do not walk the walk. Be very careful before you take a job with this company! Pay is based on units and the full time expectation is 130 per week. Pressure is on to always meet this quota and "dose" every Medicare patient for 60 min, 3xwk for full 90 days. Over utilization encouraged. Unit quota is the bottom line and if you do not meet it then you are scrutinized and often told you have to make up units on weekends or use your PTO. Regional Directors are 90% Men with very little clinical experience and do not know any better. They will tell you they are unique but they are no better than any of the other geriatric companies! read more

Great company to work for! I left my job at an outpatient PT facility to come work for Fox about a year and a half ago and have been happy ever since! I love working in client's homes, the autonomy to treat patients as I see fit and the freedom to make my own schedule. No specific office or person to review but their scheduling process needs to be updated. My Dad had a total knee replacement and was supposed to have home PT and OT. They have a 72 hour waiting/processing period for them to schedule appointments, which I had to follow up with them on via my Dad's orthopedic surgeon's office. After finally receiving a call from them, seven days after the referral, they advised that they were backed up in our area and could not get someone out to the house for four weeks. Totally unacceptable - should have been able to communicate that to me upon referral, not after their 72 hour scheduling period. Lost almost two weeks of rehab because of Fox! read more

Their billing department is in trouble. Bills from Jan,Feb and March still not processed by August. I made a mistake and overpaid $80 on May bill. We are over the high deductible so that all future bills are paid by our coinsurance but they will not refund until they process the bills from five months ago. I am a former employee of Fox Rehabilitation and working there has been very stressful at times. After being a team member of several different teams--- my last team was the insurance team. Everyone thought I knew everything about insurance when I did not. When the former supervisor would ask me a question and I did not know the answer he would ask me why I didn't know because someone else knew the answer right away. I felt like I was compared to other employees/former employees who knew more than me. On the insurance team especially, nobody wanted to help others. If you were assigned authorizations, then everything pertaining to authorizations would be sent to you. When I gave my resignation of 3 weeks I felt that I was being harassed by my supervisor. She would constantly ask me if I was okay still being there for the remainder of my time. Two of my co-workers told the supervisor that I told them to stop sending me emails because I was leaving early. Apparently, this comment was made by me 1 1/2 hours prior to me leaving. I never made such a comment, but when I told my supervisor that I never said that she just went on to ask me if I was okay being there still until my last day. On what was not supposed to be my last day I was asked to assist one of my coworkers while she was training my replacement which I was supposed to do but I got pulled from training without any warning or explanation. When I could not complete the authorizations because of issues I just placed my note in with an explanation as to why I could not complete the authorization and put my follow up date for 11/09 so it would not be overdue. Not only did I get an email from the supervisor asking what happened, but she sent an email to my manager and the subject line stated work not done. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! At the end of the day I was pulled into the manager's office and the manager stated they are accepting my resignation as of today and today would be my last day. I was not even given an opportunity to explain. I do know one thing people cannot read notes! I did the right thing by putting a note in the case as to why I could not complete the authorization. It was not even my work to do I was asked to assist. It isn't my fault that my co-worker left her work undone because she left at 12:30. I am not even going to sweat this because I have a way better job anyway making way more money then Fox pays their employees. Fox expects their employees to go a million miles an hour and complete many different tasks and if you fall behind forget about asking for help. The admissions team works their butts off and they are not compensated for their hard work. The company is not even giving raises this year, but are having a Christmas Party at a bowling alley... figure out that one? You can't afford to pay your employees better, but you can afford to have a company party? Hmmm. Please do not work here. You will bust your butt for this company and will not get compensated like you should. read more

I agree with all the other one-star ratings. Poor billing/business practices, trying to schedule as many appointments as their staff can cram into a week, in an assisted living facility setting. Their staff even scheduled appointments with other residents during their normal lunch periods and made them miss lunch. Originally they received approval for OT and PT for my wife to maintain capabilities and then started adding Speech Therapy that was not yet approved, and at a much higher billing rate. When their operation first began at the facility, they scheduled 39 appointments (between OT, PT, and Speech) with my wife over 50 work days that included Saturdays. If I was the patient, I would think this a bit excessive, and she listened to them and went along with the Plan of Care. But ultimately she decided "enough was enough" and cancelled all future services. During this short period, Fox had logged about $12K in services without us ever getting an accurate bill. And 6 months later, I still did not have an accurate bill from Fox as to what we owe vs what was reimbursed to us from the Primary Insurance and what Medicare had already paid them. They had previously sent interim invoices that double billed me for several of the service days, and when I demanded an accurate account reconciliation, they just recently provided a lengthy one that I still need to go through with a fine tooth comb. The bottom line is there is about $4K that's past due. When Fox initially suggested a plan of care, they indicated that we would have very little out of pocket costs after reviewing insurance plans. Included in that statement, was what appeared to be a threat that they would be notifying the IRS. Go figure! This group is only there for their own pockets and not necessarily whats "best" for the residents. If I go through it carefully enough, I might be able to uncover some type of fraud or at least misrepresentation by FOX. read more
