You know, life. I can happily say that my PT, Greg Beach, tailored a perfect treatment plan - heat, exercise, massage/stretching, ultrasound, ice, etc.- to help me make a complete recovery each time. Greg is an expert PT, and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I've witnessed him and his team work on many people with a variety of issues, and no matter the problem, he immediately knows the best way to go about helping. The thing about PT is that you have to be diligent and willing to work to get better. It is about recovering, strengthening and maintaining healthier habits. Greg wants every patient to continue improving, and if needed, will assign an at-home routine to compliment your office treatment. He makes sure every patient walks out of his care educated and better than they were before their injury or accident. Sure, going to physical therapy isn't how most people want to spend their afternoon or evening after a long day at school or work, but Greg and company, as well as the other patients, really create an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easier to look forward to. Then he explained the details of why I was feeling this way and even showed me how my shoulders were slightly unlevel due to the way my body was reacting to the pain/disc. He was very patient and answered all my questions. I started physical therapy once a week and after only a few weeks the pain started to go away. I always felt like a number not a person, not the entire person being treated, but just a limb. No accomadations as far as scheduling issues as well. Being a mother you cant always be available when your therapist may or may not be in. Many times i had to wait long stretches (no pun intended) between appointments b/c my "therapist" was off or booked. Also the environment of these type of places is tense vs. relaxed. Jamie Glick, and his facility and staff are what business and help are all about. Jamie himself has the most soothing and relaxing voice, as do his other employees. It's almost like going in for a massage, rather than P.T. They take your entire self and lifestyle into consideration while caring for you. No painful, difficult activities. In other establishments, one usually never meets the owner. Jamie is hands on, at all times. He is polite, caring, and the most accomodating P.T. I have ever known. Have a scheduling problem? Not a problem for Glick P.T. They always manage to work it out without being stuffed into a busy schedule, so to speak. Two and one half years ago, I was rear ended in a car accident, and that worsened a pre-existing…read moreherniated disc, so I went to Dr. Farrago after hearing him advertise his DRX9000 (spinal decompression) machine on the radio. After a few weeks of sessions multiple times a week, I could sleep at night without being interrupted with severe back pain. After several months of treatment, I no longer needed the DRX. I go there once a week now for readjustments by either Dr. Farrago and Dr. Biase. Both doctors taught me some back strengthening exercises to work on at home or at the health club, and doing them keeps the back pain at manageable levels. The friendly and outgoing medical receptionist, Martha, sends me weekly texts, reminding me to schedule an appointment. Danielle and the other office staff are also terrific, assisting the doctors with the readjustments by applying heat to my neck and back. I highly recommend Great South Bay Chiropractic.
