If there were a shrine to depression and uselessness, I think this place could be it. The building…read morelayout is a bit of a mess, though is navigable once you find the directory. You walk into a staircase and are faced by staff placards where you would expect direction signs would be. After a few seconds to orient ourselves and find the appropriate signage, we found the door we needed to go in on the ground floor. The staggered double-door configuration, the heavy security doors, the narrow window panels, the wired safety glass, the stark florescent lighting, and brutal off-white painted cinder block construction, the cheap tiled floors, the basic furnishings, the spartan decorations (mostly just black text on white signs), the lack of air conditioning, and the tight row of admissions desks made this place feel like a penitentiary. The "care" my fiancee received probably wasn't much better than what I assume one gets in a prison, as well. After a bit of a wait, we were led to a tiny windowless room that was barely big enough for three people (I had to stand most of the time). The assistant asked a number of questions - all of which would have been plainly answered with a simple glance in her medical records, which they were granted access to. After answering the litany of questions, the doctor arrived and started asking many of the same questions. At one point she looked at her medical records, but closed it, and kept asking more questions. We were forced to pull up her record on our phones, but it was difficult because their wifi had no internet connection and we couldn't get a 4G signal in the windowless room. Frankly, I don't think the doctor was trying to learn of my fiancee's medical condition; I seemed like she was just interrogating her. I got the impression they didn't want to treat her chronic pain, they just wanted to blithely say "lose some weight" and send us away, as if we were drug seekers or simply wasting their time. Nothing useful was accomplished in the uncomfortably-hot hour and half we wasted there. We had to self-treat the persistent cough that my fiancee had for weeks, since they refused to offer any help. We had to go elsewhere in order to get a refill prescription for an asthma inhaler, renewal for a parking placard, and my fiancee's social anxiety was flared up by the lack of any consideration by the medical "professionals" here for a whole month after this ordeal. We've gotten better medical care from the Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotics Center at Bed Bath & Beyond, than from this place. Guaranteed, we won't ever even consider coming back here. Even if there were no other options covered by insurance, we'd still stay FAR away from here.

So my day started on a bad note, I had some serious tooth pain. I've been down this road before…read more.. I could tell it was infected. I needed some antibiotics ASAP! But, as it goes, I had a busy day. We all want to put ourselves first, but we can't always. So after my day was done I was desperate to see someone and get a prescription. Naturally, most places were closed already. Thankfully, this new place was open, and with the added bonus of a "save your spot" option. I filled out everything online while I headed over. The building is still under some construction, looks like it used to be a bank so they're removing the drive through part, but it's not affecting the business at all. I was greeted and brought in quickly, no wait. I explained my situation and they checked me out. The doctor or nurse or whatever title they have was great! She was friendly, kind, and quickly agreed that I needed some antibiotics as well as something for pain. She also recommended some over the counter options to help me sleep while I waited to get dental care. She put through my prescriptions to my preferred pharmacy right away. I'm really glad this spot was here when I needed them. I'd definitely return for any issue that didn't warrant a trip to the E.R.

I am glad I did. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was done with care and compassion. I was given an excellent explanation of what had happened and that I may need surgery and why. I was given a list of doctors in the area to evaluate my broken bone to see if surgery was necessary. I would highly recommend using this Urgent Care.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this urgent care facility. Despite being instructed…read moreby the call center to go to 9977 Woods Drive Skokie and arrive during their supposed open hours, the receptionist could not have been more rude and dismissive, claiming they stopped accepting patients at 3:30 PM. This contradicted the information I received from the call center when I asked to be sure they were open, causing unnecessary confusion and risk to my health. The receptionist (with short gray/yellow/purple hair named Stephanie at Woods Drive at 7:20 pm 12/11/2023) refused to acknowledge any responsibility, even calling the police when I expressed my frustration as she told me I HAD to speak nicely to her before she would see if there was anyone that could help me. The need for coordination between the facility and the call center is alarming, raising concerns about North Shore University Healthcare Systems' overall competence. The fact that urgent care was allegedly not accepting patients since 3:30 pm, the doors were still open at 7 PM, and patients were still being seen. When I asked the call center if I needed an appointment, he said no, it was Urgent Care, just go there. This experience has left me with a profound lack of confidence in the medical group and its recent mergers. I cannot recommend their services based on this and other recent situations. this is painfully unfortunate. Yet, they keep buying more hospitals. I also sincerely hope North Shore University Healthcare takes Stephanie's lack of responsibility seriously. Her dismissive and uncompassionate behavior, especially in a healthcare setting, raises serious concerns about her ability to handle the responsibilities of her role. Her lack of accountability and respect for the job, combined with the potential implications for someone's health and welfare, is alarming. I strongly recommend that the healthcare system reevaluate her suitability for such a crucial position before her actions cause more severe consequences for patients in need. This incident has underscored the importance of having staff who prioritize compassion and responsibility in healthcare settings.
