NORTHWESTERN LAKE FOREST HOSPITAL…read more DOS - 3/5/25 I came to you, (cardiologist), because I didn't feel well. I had terrible shortness of breath - even while sleeping. You admitted me to run some tests, and that is where it all fell apart. I had/have multiple issues. I thought they'd all be addressed, but no. The minute hospitalist, dr nk ,found out I had a blood clot in my heart, SHE THREW ME OUT! No explanations, no listening, no compassion. I never found out the results of my urinalysis. Guess what, now I have the worst UTI that I've ever had. And NO, my NS internist ISNT taking care of me! He doesn't even respond to my calls or messages. I'm taking AZO to try & relieve my pain! I thought (cardiologist) wanted to do more tests! My SOB IS WORSE THAN EVER! No medicine I was taking before gives me any relief now. I am awake all night. I have to try & sleep sitting straight up. NO ONE ADDRESSED MY SOB WHEN I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL ! My throat still feels swollen. Someone had said they'd do a swallow test. NOPE! Dr K threw me out! I have terrible diabetes. I was told "we don't do diabetes consults in here". Wow! "First do no harm". HA! You people did nothing but harm!! I went into your hospital not feeling well. I was hoping you'd address my concerns and I'd leave finally feeling better. I didn't! You failed me. PS - In ER, specialist in midline iv, tried twice to put one in my arm - she FAILED! Then she had the colossal nerve to say she wanted to try a third time in my other arm. I said NO!

They took very good care of me. Had an emergency and they got me into surgery right away.read more

I waited 1 year to get in to see and establish care with Dr. Han-Chang. I arrived on time on the day of my appointment, and they said their computers told them my appointment was a different time (an hour earlier). I said, "That's incorrect. THIS is my appointment time" They then proceeded to blame ME for THEIR mess up!! They claimed that they called me....which they NEVER DID! As irritated as that was, I needed an internist/primary care physician...so I re-scheduled with the other physician, Dr. Howard. I would now need to wait another 6 months or so before that appointment. My Dr. Howard appointment arrived, I fasted (as per my instructions from the office), and AGAIN THEY MESSED UP MY APPOINTMENT. These women had the audacity to blame me AGAIN for their screw up and lied about contacting me! ONE MISTAKE IS FORGIVABLE, BUT TWO IS PURE INCOMPETENCE!!!! ADD THAT TO THE GASLIGHTING AND BLAMING ME FOR THEIR REPEATED MISTAKES IS BEYOND UNPROFESSIONABLE! I insisted that the office manager call me, and a young girl said she would give her the message. I HAVE RECEIVED ZERO CALLS FROM ANY SUPERVISOR OR OFFICE MANAGER, AND RECEIVED ZERO APOLOGIES!! Every woman in this office should be fired so that no patient endures what they put me through!!!!

This year has been quite the year of tour de hospitals. Lake Forest hospital has been by far the…read morebest we've been too. I was recently admitted for a few different things, starting from the ER. While a bit chaotic while they are under renovations for their new wing the nurses and staff made me feel important, and cared for every step of the way. It was a bit scary to see all the hospital beds lined up in the hallways and what not but I was always cared for. The ICU team is incredible! The nurses and doctors stopped by various times throughout the day to assure me they're keeping an eye on things and working on the best form of care to get me home to my little one safely. The nurses made me feel well taken care of. I didn't have my hair brush and one of the nurses braided my hair and talked to me about what was going on so that I wasn't as nervous about things happening. After leaving the hospital I got calls from the staff to make sure I was transitioning at home okay. The cardio team, they are a small but mighty team. I've been here for a few infusions and appointments, the doctors and nurses remember me and my family by name and are always checking in to make sure that the medications and everything is going well. Offering advice and various things to help my transitions. Overall, this is a great hospital! Every department I've experienced so far has been great, and the staff are so friendly.

I told them that previously phlebotomists have had to jab me multiple times to find my vein and I could no longer tolerate that type of pain and trauma. So I was scheduled for Lake Forest Hospital for the procedure because they had an Ultrasound to locate the vein. An appointment was made for Wednesday June 10th. I followed all their medical instructions, I went there and laid down on the table when suddenly I was told that No Ultrasound Nurse was scheduled for my procedure. So another Nurse came to inject the vein without the Ultrasound equipment. Her attempt drew blood but did not properly connect up with the vein in order to move forward with the procedure. The pain of the needle jabbing was just terrible! I could not bear a second blind attempt to find the vein, I was becoming nauseous. Half the battle is having the right tools and Lake Forest Hospital failed to properly schedule the Ultrasound Nurse, even though my appointment was made way back in April. How much lead time do they need? I am definitely not coming back here and the kicker is that the small amount of blood that they drew, they sent it for analysis, even though the procedure could not be done. I guess they need to charge the Insurance Company something...
