I left a bad review a few months ago on google reviews. Because of that review they dropped me and left me without anyway of getting med refills. Would not discuss the reason for the bad review. The review was about the NEW Psychiatrist I got assigned to because my Psychiatrist quit working for this provider. I was blocked from leaving feedback after they did this to me and just found Yelp to leave updated feedback. Please beware if you use this provider, I'd recommend another therapist/psychiatrist. Natalie has been absolutely wonderful. (5 star provider) She's gone above and beyond with/for me while trying to find the right medications for an affordable price. But the office will cancel on you if there is a balance. I've never had a problem with my insurance until the start of 2026 and I've had two appointments canceled. I called to see if they can send my refills while I wait for BCBS to call back after leaving BCBS 2 messages on Friday and Monday morning and was denied. The lady told me I could pay cash though and have my insurance refund me. Natalie is a top notch provider. This office and admin need to do better. It's not ethical to leave people without medication (read other reviews, it's common for them) over a small balance especially when it's not the patients fault or reoccurring. I would leave in a heart beat if I was guaranteed another Natalie. Mental health should NEVER be cut off so suddenly. I guess I'll sulk in my sorrows until my insurance calls back. My daughters virtual appointment was cancelled 3 times due to a $70 bill that I paid. She scheduled another appointment only to get it cancelled again stating about the bill. So I hate to see if someone is in crisis you cancel there appointment due to a $70 bill that was paid. She was kept on hold for 30 minutes by the psychiatrist saying she owes money. I call to complain and get told someone will call me back. Billing calls me back to say its taken care of then says she has another appointment we never booked. We got disconnected I call back and then the guy says no we don't have an appointment. This was the worst service ever and we will not be coming back! I previously deleted my complaint, but after receiving care from another psychiatrist; I see why I have been a patient so long. The new office took the time to explain and show me that my medications from Premier Psychiatry were conflicting; also said my heart could have stopped at how abruptly that I was cut off. I was a patient almost 9 years and I will not go into detail on how I was dismissed once they couldn't bill due to me moving out of state. I am on the right track now, but please...this is a pill pushing office. I had online visits for almost 3 years; 3-4 minute appointments with a fresh refill of a killer drug. This is against the law. Also, another medication is three times the normal dosage! If you want to be doped up, have at it. If you want HELP...don't start here. You will truly suffer!!!!! Edit: I was not given a 30 nor 60 day supply of anything once they informed me AFTER I moved that they could no longer fill. I was CUT OFF and the office sent my calls to voicemail. Very hard to get ahold of the front office faculty or psychiatrist if your looking to refill or have any prescription issues. My medication always seems to be out of stock, so i'm always switching pharmacies and have to call Premier multiple times. I leave voice messages with both front office & psychiatrist's departments with no response on several occasions. At best i get a call back 2 - 3 days later! Giving this place a one star review is generous. No one responds to emails and they give a sad attempt of showing compassion and empathy. Peggy, the office manager acts like she cares, but just gives you the runaround when dealing with any concerns. Dr. Pradeep Thapar is not a truthful medical professional, which would make anyone question their care being in the hands of this man. I highly recommend people to stay far away from this place if you take your mental health seriously. Peggy is terrible. Does not know how to talk to people. I was in tears when we spoke and she raised her voice at me and was talking to me like I am stupid. I was flustered and upset. I was not rude to her. My feelings were not directed at her. She refused to open her hears and listen to my question. She did not help me. She sounded annoyed more than anything because she had to call me back. Jaded. Get better staff. She is literally the one that handles all of this kinda stuff and she is terrible at it. No sympathy, no empathy. I hate that I spent my money here for years. The interaction with her was that bad and I have never left a bad review for anywhere. This is literally the first bad review I have ever made. It's sad because I was actually pretty fond of my doctor. There is a good-sized staff here so I would interview the therapist before committing to seeing them. Do not go to this place it is terrible. The manager PEGGY is the worst and will hang up on you! I truly think she is just a miserable person that lacks empathy so she has to take it out on other people. Def shouldn't be working in a psych office!! Not sure how she is still employed. I don't recommend meeting with any of the staff here because they aren't professional and only care about your money. I met with Matt Fazendin a couple times and each time he came off passive aggressive, judgmental, and rude. When I processed things in therapy he would make me feel bad about the things I've been through. He also said inappropriate things to me during the session that I tried to tell Peggy and she didn't even give me the time of day to express my concern. The only provider that I liked here was William Lyman. The psychiatry meetings would be 2-3 minutes and they would charge over $100. I know it depends on your insurance but their base price is ridiculous. They just want money and to prescribe meds to benefit their business and the big pharm companies. Don't waste your time and money here if you actually want to get better. I suggest you go some place else. read more

At my first visit Dr. Thapar let the IT guy in to fix the computer, didn't talk to me, and diagnosed me in 30 seconds. I've seen him make developmentally delayed clients clean up crumbs off the floor while he yelled them. I've seen him violate client confidentiality multiple times. He over charges then withhold medicine until you pay in full. His front staff is led by the most evil woman I've ever come in contact with who lies about what's legal like she's smart when she's a 70 year old receptionist. Nitin Thapar is helping me manage my bi-polar mood swings. As we get to know each other, get more comfortable with each other I feel more and more assured that he will be able to help. The Orland Park location runs a bit behind at times but the Chicago Ridge location so far is always quite punctual for appointments. I was a bit disappointed to learn that the whole staff does not accept the same insurance so I can't see the therapist. That would have been nice to have both in the same location. Sometimes I can't remember which office I have the appointment hence the bi-polar and it is nice that they will text me that information beforehand. Now I can just look at the text, know what time to be there and which location I'm going to lol. Thumbs Up. read more

I loved going to this office however I was forced to find a different provider after a terrible experience I had with the office manager, Peggy. Due to COVID I was struggling financially and was bullied by this woman because I couldn't pay. I was told I would be refused by the doctor if I couldn't pay immediately. Her rude and sarcastic tone was so demeaning that I cried after the phone call. I've never felt so belittled in my life. Very counterproductive for a psychiatrist's office! I found a new doctor with much more flexible payment options. I will say the doctor I saw at Premier Psychiatry was very kind and helpful but definitely needs to re-evaluate his management!! The receptionist was a complete A**HOLE. She hung up the phone on me because she was upset that I was trying to figure out where my prescription was sent. My prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy twice, and I was simply calling to ensure that it was sent to the right pharmacy this time. I have never experienced such bad service before in my life. If you are thinking about going to this facility, I advise you to be strong-headed as the receptionist is unwilling to cooperate with you 99% of the time. If I could give negative stars in terms of the receptionists for this practice I would. Dr. Nitin Thapar is great in terms of his medical services, but his other staff are completely rude and unwilling to help find you the information that you need. read more

Yes, overall good psychiatrist.. Please LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS... they make you have an appointment every 2 months to check in on your mental health and then refill your medication.... I did not like that I ADVISED IM NERVOUS ABOUT BECOMING ADDICTED TO ANYTHING SINCE I HAVE ADDICTION IN MY FAMILY... they prescribed XANAX which is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE... Surface level interactions with doctor. Antiquated rating scales. No diagnostic report shared and it is 4 months later. No diagnosis was found. All that is easily dismissed, but we made the mistake of doing a follow up with their LCSW, Schofield to address our concerns with organization and following directions. Yikes. Like us, he had no file or report to go on so he went full speed ahead on talking to my 11 yo about getting a prescription without parental consent at age 12, cutting, suicide, anxiety, and depression. We were seeking organization and time management strategies. After the visit I had to answer questions from my kid about why people who have messy rooms and backpacks cut themselves. Why people who don't tune into directions kill themselves. Stay away from this place. read more

Honestly if it weren't for Dr. Nitin and Dr. Oliver I would still be depressed. Dr. Nitin cares about his patients and answers very quickly to patients' messages. He actually listens and doesn't just give you medication and off you go. He cares about the patients' healthy mind and soul. When he gives medication he'll take it step by step and if it's not working he won't force you. He takes very detailed notes. He's a young, professional, caring doctor that I would recommend to all my friends and family. Dr. Oliver, he's my therapist. I've never been to therapy before so I was a little scared at first. Dr. Oliver makes you feel comfortable and very trustworthy. I love talking to him about everything and anything. He lets you vent. I have been a patient of Dr. Pradeep Thapar for at least 5 years. In that time I have been treated for a Major Depressive Disorder that I have suffered with for 30 years and only got worse over that time after many attempts to get on the right med combo. (I react badly to psych. meds) This dr. was the only one that stuck with it until something worked and supported me during many in patient stints and a Alcohol abuse problem that arose (many of us will self medicate to ease the pain of depression.) They even got me genetic testing to test for meds that would work for me instead of having me suffer as one med failed and then another. After reading some of the reviews below I feel the need to mention this: NEVER have I seen his staff act in an inappropriate manner and God knows I gave them enough Lip on the phone for their phone system or waiting to long. Let's face it us that have suffered for so long with our conditions sometimes can get triggered by a glance our way. In any of those occasions the Staff, office manager and especially Nurse Nancy and Dr. Pradeep Thapar have talked me down and found a solution and solace during that bad time. As far as them only wanting to prescribe high priced meds and take your money as mentioned, Nurse Nancy knew I could not afford the Pricy naltrexone shot for alcohol abuse after another release from treatment and was worried I would relapse. She called all her connections to get Naltrexone I could afford for me. Now does that sound like price gougers to you? If you want a REAL doctor that WILL find the right med and treatment, they never give up on you, then call this office and don't look back they will give you hope. I have had a handful of experiences with this practice and not a single one has been positive. I have left voicemails, called multiple times on the same day just to ATTEMPT to get in contact with a receptionist/provider to either schedule an appointment, request a refill, etc. When they do finally answer the phone (very rare) it is often met with attitude. Beware: This practice is more concerned with getting paid than patient care. I am currently feeling very discouraged by this practice. I have just begun my mental healthcare journey. Two years ago, I contracted a virus called H-Pylori through traveling. The virus, left untreated, eventually has severe affects on your GI system (your bodies "second brain"). Therefor, it has had startling effects on my mental health as of late. In my pursuit of happiness, I found the love of my life, opened my own successful business, and finally know enough about our country's healthcare system (after 2 years of very limited care being available to me) to select healthcare coverage to receive proper care to take care of my unresolved health issues. I selected Dr. Nitin Thapar because I was impressed by his credentials. He seemed to be a forward and independent thinker, who had put in a lot of work to achieve his DO. I was so impressed that I waited 3 weeks for an appointment. During that time, I have faced many personal and professional trials, but I held out to ensure I'd be in safe hands. Sadly, BCBSIL is going through many changes of their own this year, and despite speaking with several representatives this week, when I arrived at my appointment today, my coverage was in question. Understandable. So I asked if there was a waiver I could sign to assume responsibility for the full payment if necessary. I was refused. So I called BCBSIL for confirmation and because my most recent payment hadn't posted (my coverage status was ACTIVE and confirmed by the representative to the office manager)...I was told that it was not their fault or problem and that I would have to reschedule. I will not be returning and will hope to find a practice that cares more about their patients than their paychecks... read more

TERRIBLE. Dr N. Thapar & his nurse practitioner LisaMarie Ruffalo almost ruined my entire life. I was on anti depressants & they switched my meds for me bc they weren't working. i got my new meds & have never reached a lower point in my life. After explaining thoroughly that my biggest fear was trying a new med & having it go bad for me. That's exactly what happened but not only, they stopped contacting me. I never heard from them again the day after they changed me to a new antidepressant. I had to get myself off of them bc no one would call me back or respond to my messages/voicemails. This was traumatizing. My life was ruined by them & saved by myself. I wouldn't recommend this office to my worst enemy. read more

This place is the worst. They refused to see me after 4 appointments. I had a "outstanding balance" Even though my insurance covered 90% of my bill. I had just begun my treatment here after a suicide attempt and they just dropped me like I wasn't a real person. The withdrawal from the medication they got me stared on was the worst part. I'm now really discouraged from finding another doctor. Seems kinda pointless if this is how they treat people seeking help. I'm in a worse position now than before. read more

Dr. Thapar is a good doctor but he needs to manage his Orland office better. Literally paying $140 every appointment to sit here and wait for OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF. I've been a patient here for over a year. Dr. Thapar is fantastic. I've never had any problems with my treatment, and he's always understanding and professional. Over the last couple of years I've been able to make huge strides forward with the knowledge and resources from Dr. Thapar and his staff. They're also punctual. I have been seeing Dr.Pardeep Thapar for a year..He has been very good doctor.. recently I became in a very tough situation as I had to remove my husband from my home and it was just to much for me to take..Dr.Thapar recommend time off of work..I had Short Term Dissablity so did not think it will be a problem..They filled out paperwork and sent it in ..I was denied .. Sedgwick insurance basically put the blame on the office and Doctor so I became very upset and enraged with the office..I was acting irrational because I was about to be homeless as to my understanding if a doctor says you can't work it should be considered disability.. Peggy the office Manager instead of ignoring me , worked with doctor and myself to provide any additional information they requested for an appeal.which was still denied.. Sedgwick is the most uncaring insurance I have ever seen ..it's worse then social security..I guess the government recognizing bipolar as a dissablity does not trickel down to the private sector...I will be complaining to the department of insurance on Sedgwick.. especially not taking responsibility for the denial but placing it on a doctor I have trusted for a year which caused me more Anguish..Thank you Peggy And Doctor Thapar .. read more

The suboxone therapy program is fine, short sweet and to the point though If you need counseling alongside the suboxone, which is recommended to basically everyone... then you should find a 3rd party therapist or psychiatrist. If you go through them for the psychiatry just make sure that you DO NOT SEE OLIVER WILLIAMS. This man is an idiot. My first session there he was trying to sell me a bool he wrote and the second session consisted of him putting headphones on me for 25 minutes to listen to some man with a british accent realign my chakras. Then he ended the session early. He didnt even give me the full hour... gladly. Nitin thapar is professional and pleasant though. read more

I have had Dr. Pradeep Thapar as my doctor for 15 years. He has always made sure I have plenty of medication before the next doctor visit. I had gotten sick one time on life support -- and he "nursed me" back to health on the right medication. Right now I am healthier than I have ever been. Dr. Thapar tries using new and state of the art medication for illnesses -- and good standard medication. He is an expert in knowing all the medications on the market. Dr. Thapar is a very personable person --- and is a great Psychiatrist for medicine management. I recommend Dr. Thapar. I'm finally connected and think clearly and my anxiety problems are under control with no substance abuse. read more
