A shared platter was certainly enough as, in the middle, was a beautifully baked camembert with croutes. So soft and smooth. A terrine of smoked ham and chicken with wonderful chutneys. Chicken strips, crudites and humous. Certainly enough for a lunch. I'm glad I went back and will do so again if in the area.

We weren't planning to spend my time in the hotel room, by design (!!) and that's probably why it worked well for us. The room wasn't great. Badly needs a renovation to be honest. Bed wasn't very comfortable (pillows were awful) and the bathroom was extremely rough around the edges. But it was clean and convenient!! Heater worked well, shower was hot, kettle worked, plenty of plugs to charge devices... good pub on property... free parking.. good access. Job done.

The Grove knows how to treat you and makes every penny worth spending there. Staff are really welcoming, friendly and great to chat to. They take the time to really get to know you personally. Thanks to Luke the barman he made my stay perfect, but all the staff there do a really good job of making you feel the most important person. Food was fantastic. The ambiance was superb and the wild decoration and art in all the rooms and grounds were a unusual touch to perfection.

Staff were attentive to dietary requirements. For the afternoon tea they require a deposit during booking. (Advice is to book your afternoon tea well ahead of time, with your set dietary requirements so they can accommodate for this beforehand). We went during Christmas, so the afternoon tea was composed for the season. This consisted of seasonal sandwiches, seasonal cakes and treats. Very generous portions for the price, and lovely desserts. As for the sandwiches, they were not up to scratch unfortunately. Very basic tasting, and dry. This is why I am giving a 3 star rating, as I would probably only return for the location / ambiance / dessert aspect of the afternoon tea. Parking is in abundance. Do check it out!
