This is the best movie theater ever! Jose the manager is so nice and helpful. Highly recommend this movie theater specially over Tinseltown!

There were a couple of people that arrived after the movie had started and began arguing loudly with these other people while standing in front of my seat in the next row. They seemed to be arguing about whose seat belonged to who. All this was taking place while the movie was playing so I totally missed that part of the movie. I feel like this is something that could've been handled better by staff if they ever were around but of course they were no where to be seen. As for concessions, the popcorn tasted stale and nasty. The seats were uncomfortable and torn and they did not recline. Also, they didn't have the AC turned on enough because it was pretty hot. In addition to all of that, the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in forever. This theater sucked! read more

Very, very messy seats they clearly did not clean before . They wouldn't even give me a cup of water. They said that they don't do it here. My seat was very, very dirty. They treated me like garbage they closed the concession stand early these people really do not care about their jobs and they treat the place like trash zero out of 10 it's honestly not even worth returning for the imax experience just go to another theater read more

Somehow gets worse every time I go. Unfortunately it is the only IMAX theater in town, and that's the only reason to go. I won't darken their doorstep for anything else. Theater #12 has a massive smear/stain in the middle of the screen that's incredibly distracting. Concessions guy said that my $14 in gift cards was used up by a water and a large drink and threw them away. Half of the self serve popcorn dispensers don't even work, meaning that the queue for the working machines gets very long. Not to mention the whole place looks disgusting and the seats are always dirty from whatever the last user spilled on them... Clearly is in need of new management or a remodel of some kind. Customer service here is horrible-- particularly concessions. If any manager here is reading this, here's why we BRING OUR OWN FOOD AND DRINKS (aka: you're missing out on at least $60 from us every time we come): 1) You advertise coffee. Your staff ALWAYS has to "check to see if they can serve coffee" when we ask for it. They leave for a second, come back and say they can't do it. FYI-- we just ask for black coffee... nothing fancy. 2) Depending on who you talk to depends on what you're able to add to your meal. Example: we like to add bacon to our burger. Usually they tell you they can't add it, then we go to someone else and they're able to. Example 2: you've never gotten our order right. Literally, ever. You either give us the wrong sauce for the wings, forget a condiment, or just forget an item altogether. I guess I should be thanking you for saving us money. read more

We came into The Scene before our movie and seriously regretted it. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was literally watching videos on her phone in front of us the entire time. She didn't greet us or say a word for five minutes--just looked up occasionally like we were an inconvenience. When she finally acknowledged us, it was a half-hearted "Y'all ready?" like we were interrupting her break. I ordered the chicken strips, and my friend got the pepperoni pizza. My food came out first, hers five minutes later. The guy who brought it tossed a plastic bag of silverware, pepper, and sauce on top of her pizza. It was actually gross. The pizza came on a cardboard box like the kind you have on the bottom of store bought oven pizzas--not a plate. For $11. When my friend asked for a plate, the bartender handed her a plastic to-go box like that was good enough. They also forgot my ketchup, and when I asked for some, instead of getting it from the kitchen, the bartender opened a drawer behind the bar and pulled out a few ketchup packets, saying something about keeping a stash so she doesn't have to walk all the way to the back. Just lazy. The whole vibe was careless and unprofessional. The food looked and tasted like frozen junk. If this is what they're proud of, they can keep it. Won't be back. read more

As a customer and former employee, this place is disgusting and horrible, from the way they treat their workers to how they clean the place, the theaters never receive deep cleans, just really a rag in water over the top of the table and wiping down the seat if even that, they don't give scheduled or timely breaks to their crew lead and even some employees because "they're too busy" or because the management simply won't help until it's lines out the door, if you just shine a flashlight behind a row or 2 or even between the seats, you'll see what I mean when I say they don't clean their theaters, I simply wouldn't ever go here again or support the business, this place is disgusting, it's surprising they have been in business this long... read more

The bearded gentleman (and I use that word loosely) in the tight grey vest, white shirt, and tie, at the concession counter provided me with what was almost impressively the worst customer service I've received at a movie theater, I think ever. Word of advice, if your next customer is walking up to your counter, you don't have to say, "hELlOooO i'M rEaDY" to me like I'm an idiot. Furthermore, when I tell you I want a small popcorn and a large Coke, and you tell me I get it myself, and I say "ok got it" you don't have to treat me like an idiot and say "you do it yourself I'm not doing it for you." again as if you hadn't already told me. Overall, almost impressed that management empowers their staff to dress so professionally while simultaneously allowing them to provide some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The best employee here was myself, serving my own popcorn and coke from the fountain. 0/10, would not recommend to anyone. It looks like there's 5 cinemas in Lubbock, please go to the other 4, and then wait for the movie to come out on streaming to watch at home, before considering coming to this theater. We don't go to the movies very often, but my daughter and I decided to go on a Mother's/Daughter day. We went to the 4:30 showing of Deadpool and Wolverine. We were in line at 3:45 to buy popcorn, having previously purchased our tickets. The Assistant Director Logan Ballard was the one in charge of our line. He openly let any black person who wanted to --and there were roughly 30-40 of them--cut in front of the Hispanic/Asian/white customers and served them exclusively. We barely made our 4:30 movie due to his actions. All he had to do was be fair and serve the next person in line. He was rude and disrespectful to everyone else. Don't waste your time on this theater. If the Assistant Director chooses to behave this way with customer service, there's no telling how bad the rest of the employees will conduct. themselves. The was the worst movie popcorn I've ever had. Had big, nonchewable hulls in it and does not taste freshly popped. The syrup from the fountain is weak. I guess that's how they keep the cost down to keep it free refills....but I didn't want a refill of either. Save your $15 for something else!! I also tried a drink from the bar. Love the refillable popcorn and drinks, you cannot get that at any other theater in Lubbock. The d-box seats are a nice way to watch a scary movie! Also it's connected to the mall so after you watch a movie you can shop. read more

The women's restroom and my husband said men's was same way, was absolutely horrible! Not only things left in toilets but sinks broken too. It needed more than just cleaning. It needed maintenance for sure. My husband said Men's had urine all over the floor. Upper management needs to be notified and I'm having trouble locating the correct people. Genuinely, one of the worst movie theaters I've ever been to. I went to two different bathrooms, almost each sink had something broken like the soap dispenser or water wouldn't pour. The floors and toilet areas were gross. The towel dispensers were all broken and then one of the hand dryers had a small pool of water that I accidentally touched that smelled disgusting so I had to re-wash my hands. We went in and sat down, the speakers were so off balanced that we asked to be moved. Luckily the worker was really nice about it. Then, 3 of the 4 drinks we tried were out of syrup. So we had to keep going back and trying a new one. I tripped on the steps while staring at the ground and jammed my wrist and spilled my drink all over. I literally could not see the steps. Super rude manager or he walks around like a manager. He wears a black suit and is very unprofessional for the position that he holds. Theater wasn't clean at all while tons of employees walk around doing nothing. Tinselstown is a lot better choice. read more

We had a good time watching talk to me. I give 4 stars because the concession areas are messy and I like the seats at cinemark better. Overall the seats are comfortable I like the treys to set my snacks down but not as much space like the other theaters in town. read more

The cinema itself was a-ok. But we tried the food we could order from their restaurant and have brought to the theater (not the concession). The staff were nice. We ordered grilled chicken sandwich. They first brought the wrong sandwich (fried chicken). They put an order in then to correct it. No prob there, again, staff were great. But... the sandwich was disgusting. I rarely write reviews. I prob should. But this sandwich was so bad I had to write... why? The chicken breast was gigantic like three inches thick... and dry... just tasted like the most hormone fed thing ever. Could barely get mouth around it. Couldn't even eat half of a half. Made us feel gross eating it, and for hours after. Won't eat there again. Actually has a Starbucks inside...which is pretty cool! Pretty much standard theater stuff here. Nice, leather seats, great sound and picture, and very clean! One minor gripe...I'm 6'2", and the distance between the rows is on the small side. I felt pretty cramped up in the seats. I was fine, but it wasn't a packed house, either. Had it been full, I would have been a bit claustrophobic...:) Glowing sinks in the restroom are a nice touch (see pictures). Overall, a great theater! read more

I absolutely LOVE this theater! The staff are doing their absolute best to cater to any needs, especially in this time of trying to figure out how to get back to a "normalcy". Popcorn & sodas went by quickly with their self serve stations, and it was super easy to find my seat. The restaurant attached to this theater is delicious. I recommend their bbq and Buffalo wings! Their drinks are fun, unique themed to fit with movies, and are very good. read more

Went to see Nobody in Theater 2. The sound quality was HORRENDOUS! No base, no depth, when music was playing all other sounds were distorted. It was not a movie theater sound system AT ALL. My 2001 24inch Vizio TV has better sound quality than what we experienced. I brought up the issue with management and I was the one that recommended getting my money back. For what we paid for tickets and refreshments our experience was LOWER than 1 star. read more

This is a great theater! I love the reclining seats and great selection for movies and refreshments. My friends and I use to all ways go to Alamo draft house to watch a movie but I think this is our new favorite theater. Sidenote- make sure you grad refreshments before the movie because they close them down at like 10pm read more

My wife and I just got back from seeing Thor in IMAX 3D. The movie was awesome in all regards. But the theater must be under some sort of stress. We tried to use a kiosk to get our tickets that we paid for online. It didn't work. An employee had to make it happen at another kiosk. Then we went to the concessions to get our usual Two Drink and Large Popcorn combo. They now sell you empty containers and the popcorn and drinks are self service. The line wasn't any faster and the self service popcorn is substandard. Instead of scooping from the top, you pull a bottom lever and you get all the crumbs that have settled. We normally get Icee's instead of soda. They didn't have the lids for large icee drinks. This was NOT the high quality snacks that we are willing to pay for. Same price, less service, lower quality. I've always loved this theater for the cafe, the starbucks, and the bar. Basically it brought back the touch of class that going to the movies had when I was a kid in the 70's. I hope this was just an experiment that they will get rid of soon. read more

Everywhere I checked for movie time said 2pm. So we arrive and actual ticket says movie is at 2:20. Ugh - fine. But we are already there. Get stuff at snack bar and go to theater. Non stop, repetitive commercials until 2:20. Then the little set you phone to silent announcement comes on. Great - but wait ! Now we are going subjected to a full 15 minutes of previews! Come on! Do you really expect people who have paid money to happily sit thru over 30 minutes of junk? It literally takes the pleasure out of going to a movie. DBox is expensive especially considering sound is terrible and seats are broken. Sound scratchy during loud events in movie. My seat sat crooked. My husband's seat didn't go all the way down and the seat cushion slid out. Ridiculous considering $20/person. Went to bar three times. No one around.
