I have PPO coverage and didn't know what that meant. Nothing further was explained. I picked this dentist out of the list from my insurance plan. I went for my cleaning and x-rays which was a very positive experience. I had a great cleaning and I discussed getting a few cavities filled. Upon checking out, the woman at the front desk said I owed a $95 copayment. My insurance coverage says I owe $0 for cleanings and x-rays which I told her. She said but we are a premium dentist. I replied, if when making the appointment it was explained that "premium" means I would have out of pocket expense for things that were to be zero cost to me that I would have never chose this dentist. There were plenty other dentist to chose from. Today I talked to Dr. Savon about how it was not communicated to me upon making the initial appointment but he still wanted the full $95 payment and hung up on me. It was very upsetting and saddens me that I was treated without any regard to try to make an exception due to a front desk error. They have refused to release my x-rays to another office as well. I later found out this happen to someone else I know with a total different insurance carrier. This person had to pay a much larger out of pocket upon checking out. Be careful when using this dentist if you are shopping for a new one!

The consult and X-rays were performed and since then the front desk manager Danielle Warker is refusing to abide to the contract. This manager is rude and hung up on me. So then I went in person with the contract and she told me to leave the office. She told me the contract was just for dental cleanings which is not true since the VA handles the cleanings.

We had always been happy with the service, in large part because the dental hygienists had been very good. We had not had much interaction with the dentists themselves until recently. Unfortunately, these interactions have involved a surprising uptick in the number of recommendations for medical treatments and referrals to their colleagues, across the board, with very limited rationale or justification in each case. As a first time patient, a 3am toothache had me calling around for some emergency dental TLC. The '24 hour emergency dentists' in my area still have not called me back three hours later AFTER i am home from seeing Dr. Samson. I called for my appointment and they told me to come right in. Come right in it was, as I walked in, they took my name and the lovely Susan took me immediately into a treatment room. She reviewed what my symptoms were, some basic medical history, and then we were taking digital xrays! So neat! No waiting, retake as many as you need, blow them up for more detail. 21st century medicine indeed! With the problem identified as a large cavity she reviewed my options noting that a root canal may be in order. The Doctor came in and introduced himself, talked with me a bit about the situation, looked over the information Susan had gathered and numbed me up. No excessive poking and prodding was done. It was pretty much just cleaning things out, putting some medication on the tooth, and a temporary filling to get me through to either the root canal or an extraction. No pressure either way. The Doctor was pleasant and professional through my visit,. as was Susan and all the staff. As I checked out, the woman behind the counter reviewed payment options, including an in house payment plan where they bill my credit card monthly in installments. Again, how flexible! I made my next appointment and headed off to decide does it stay or does it go, but either way I will be coming here for all my dental care moving forward.

Two months ago, my wife made an appointment for herself at Corsi, after we newly moved into the…read morearea. At the time of scheduling, she had them verify that they took our insurance, Philadelphia Federation of Teachers through United Concordia. They said yes. She then asked them if they accepted children....yup, starting at 3 years old. "Same insurance?" Yup. So far, so good. About a week later, my wife found a different dentist that had something sooner, so she booked with them and called Corsi to see if *I* could take her appointment slot. (Again, we are new to the area, so we both need new dentists.) "Same insurance?" Again, "yup." Again, no problem. Fast forward to TODAY (6/22), when I get, AS MY FIRST COMMUNICATION FROM CORSI EVER, a text message asking me to confirm my appointment next week. I reply and confirm at 9am. At 12:08 pm, and I get a voicemail that I have been removed from their calendar, because they do not accept my insurance; an insurance that they THREE TIMES said they accepted, and that was verified with our provider. They also said to me, and I quote, "...we've been trying to call you, and you do not respond to any of our phone calls." Again, I had NEVER received a call from them, and the only thing I DID receive from them, a text to confirm, I responded to immediately, 3 hours before this phone call. I call the office, and get a woman that wasn't rude, but certainly wasn't pleasant, and she explains that whomever told us that they took our insurance was wrong, and to come in would be $99. Fair enough, but the accusation that I was deliberately ignoring their phone calls, and the fact that you dropped me a week away from my appointment, after telling me TWO MONTHS AGO that you took my insurance, just left a bad taste in my mouth. A mouth that will now have to wait another 2 months to find another dentist. We've heard rumors that dental offices are not keen on accepting clients with our, admittedly not great, dental insurance, and this interaction smacks of someone with better insurance asking for an appointment, and me and my less desirable insurance getting the bump. While it's certainly possible to incorrectly think you take a certain insurance, it's a lot harder to understand when that information is checked, and passes muster, THRICE. Also, saying "we've been trying to reach you," is fine, saying "you don't return our calls" is not. I have NEVER received a CALL from Corsi, let alone a voicemail asking me to call back. I even thought that maybe they were calling my WIFE, since she was the original appointment, but she said she has no calls or voicemails either.
