After receiving our deposit, the company significantly increased the price of the project to an amount we could no longer afford. We tried to discuss the situation in person at their office, hoping to find a solution, but instead we were treated disrespectfully. The owner raised his voice, yelled at us, and made the situation even more stressful. The document we signed was not a formal construction contract, yet we were left without our deposit and without the project moving forward. We filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC), but unfortunately we did not receive the help we expected. We also hired attorneys, which has only resulted in additional expenses while trying to resolve this matter. Our experience has been frustrating, financially draining, and extremely disappointing. I encourage anyone considering this company to carefully review all paperwork, make sure you have a detailed written contract, and fully understand the terms before paying a large deposit.

There was a big hail storm here (biggest I've seen in my life, and a lot of houses were having their roofs re-done because of it) so it wasn't unwarranted. The insurance wasn't budging, but it wasn't for lack of trying. I was on the call with all parties, and the owner of Paramount really put the screws to them over a couple things they said; like a good defense attorney. If that didn't work, nothing would have. We tried, and I appreciated the effort. Anyway, Paramount came out to give me an estimate the same day I called, He advised that if anyone in his company had done a couple of the things the original builder did on my roof, they would no longer be with the company. And I believe it. I had to patch one spot where the original builder punched holes, etc., and the stuff he pointed out was something I had noticed, as a layman, that just didn't look good at the ridge. Paramount has the best reviews of any builder around here, and they were recommended by my neighbor, who has lived in SoMD for about fifty years and knows everybody. The quote was also reasonable. I checked a lot of prices and I'm not searching around when I do crack my wallet open and get the roof done. I'm going with Paramount.

Here's my experience: Our contract specified the following: - Prep and paint the basement (walls, trim, doors), including the common area, bathroom, and bedroom. - Prep and paint the stairwell and complete upper level, excluding closet interiors (ceiling, walls, trim). - Perform minor drywall repairs as needed in all areas to be painted. However, drywall repairs were incomplete before painting began. During my walkthrough, I noticed areas that still required repair; some were fixed, others were not. Where repairs were made, the difference in paint coats is noticeable. Most of my home appears to have received only one coat of paint, and some of the trim wasn't painted at all, despite my repeated requests to both the worker and the owner. Paint was splattered throughout my home, including on furniture and kitchen appliances. The trim, ceiling, and floor were covered with paint splatters. The workers also left trash behind, such as drink cups and wrappers. Although the job was supposed to take five days, on the fifth day, a single worker arrived at 8 a.m. and stayed until 9 p.m. without any breaks, trying to finish. After I sent the owner photos of the issues, he and the worker along with one other person returned on Monday. That worker yelled at me in my own home, blaming me for the poor paint job. Although the owner attempted to make things right, the overall lack of care and professionalism from this company was unacceptable. I still have unresolved issues, but after the owner tried to justify the problems, I decided to just pay him and move on.
