First of all, the staff at Madison Live is very helpful and friendly. This show was crowded and they had plenty of bartenders. Lots of draft options, as well as bottles, and the prices weren't horrible. There's no slant to the floor, so if you're at a packed show, you may want to get up front before the headliner, as it can be difficult to see from the back unless you're a taller individual. The sound quality is good. Terror had no barricade, which is awesome for a 2026 hardcore show. Also, I don't know who all assists in getting together the opening bands for a show like this, but they were good. I expected some lame openers and was pleasantly surprised when this wasn't the case (check out Pure Heel from NY, for sure, and also Retribution and Rules of Engagement). Security was also very cool and conducted themselves the way the best bouncers do: you're unaware they are even there until they are needed. There's an upstairs area as well, a roof spot where they also have bands play sometimes. Go up there for a more spacious, less crowded bathroom than the one downstairs. You can also have a smoke outside, between bands, if you like. I hope there's another good hardcore show playing at Madison Live the next time I'm in town, 'cause I'd love to visit this place again!

I was already thru the gate, but the dude working decided to not let my man in...WTF. So a supervisor saw the shit hitting the fan...and stepped in to help. She was very nice, we explained what happened and after a few minutes she let us in. She immediately took the young man aside and gave him a talking to, hopefully he didn't let the power go to his head, again. Regardless, we had a great time. We spent some dough on drinks and food of course. Everything was good, even if it's overpriced.

The outside bar ran out of tequila. The venue itself was nice. However, if you are general admission and want to see the show, you need to arrive early. I'm 5'2" and had to stand on my tippee toes because the stage is not very high. I wish there could be a screen or something on the side, but that's just a preference. Overall, I enjoyed the show, felt safe, and had no trouble getting out.

The staff is nice and supportive, they dont belittle and aren't rude. They make you feel safe. The place is clean and I like how theres GA floor, GA balcony and seating options all with great views. They serve Deweys pizza at the concession which is a nice step up from the usual larosas at other venues. They also have pretzels, chips and hot dogs. Prices for food are what you expect at a concert venue.

Went to Halloween Horror 2. This was the coolest experience ever when it comes to ghosts. It was my…read morefirst ghost investigation, and I couldn't have asked for more! In the "creepy room" one of the ladies had an ovilus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ovilus) and the words we saw were "Demon. Burn. Trap. Human. Run." And then we left! You would have left too! One of the downstairs rooms some of us smelled strong perfume, I followed it into the hallway and started smelling people and it wasn't anyone then it dissipated. Then later I heard a story about that happening before and that there might be a woman who is haunting the house. After that I went into the doorway of the room across the hall and saw a 2 1/2 ft shadow against the other door, when I looked again it was gone. I told some people and we tried to recreate it and couldn't. There wasn't anyone else in the room, and the light was such that it couldn't have created a shadow that distinctly. Then later I heard stories about Pukwudgie's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pukwudgie) who are small creatures, that might be haunting that location, and that other people have seen them there as well. Later in the night, way after midnight, we were down in the basement, and we had lots of equipment going, and I believe we conversed with the spirit of a dog, a child, and a recently passed friend of some people that were there. There was lots of unexplainable phenomena happening that you would have just had to be there to believe it. I think there were 2 people video taping it as well, not sure where to find those tho (sorry). I also got to meet two paranormal investigators; Marley Gibson and Patrick Burns. And we got to watch Ghost Adventures episode about Sedamsville, while we were in the Attic, with all the people they showcased in the room with us. Talk about a once in a lifetime experience. We found a nearby parking lot that was only a short walk away, which made things even more convenient. The stadium was clean, with plenty of well-maintained restrooms throughout. The seats were about as comfortable as you'd expect for stadium seating. The drink prices were comparable to other stadiums I've visited. I didn't try any of the food, but I did have a Blue Hawaiian Lime Margarita, and it was absolutely delicious. The Cincinnati Music Festival is an event I look forward to every year. As long as they continue bringing great artists to perform, I'll keep coming back!

The music is generally top-notch, though you can certainly run into a "new age" sound every once-in-a-while (and I supposed that's good if you're into that sort of thing). The hard part is finding out when there is a show. There's no website or mailing list, as far as I know, and the only way to learn of a show is to stop by the building and look for a flyer. Flyers for shows are usually out 3-4 weeks beforehand so you have time to plan. The only other downside is that it is somewhat pricey , at $20 a ticket (pay at the door), but they provide food and beverage. If you been looking for an intimate space that hosts underground jazz musicians from across the country, keep an eye out on Calhoun St. for a flyer and stop by The Loft Society. You won't be disappointed.
