I like to make my own pizza with a garlic Parmesan base and I add tomatoes, feta cheese and red onion. It comes out absolutely delicious every time I've gotten it. I've also gotten the baked meatball sub, which is exactly how you want a baked sub to be it's perfectly crunchy bread with melted cheese and really great sauce on the meatballs. I've also gotten a small Mediterranean salad and I added chicken and the thing was huge. It took up the entire container and was a really good deal for all the food that you got. i've ordered a head on their website or using the Clover app and it's really easy. They never have any issues and everything's usually ready on time. I don't usually show up before the estimated time so I haven't had any problems with things being late. I've also gone in and ordered and just kind of sat and waited for me to go. This is the most traditional pizza shop type of place you've ever been to. It smells amazing when you walk in the door and all of the staff are really really friendly and have been quick to offer a drink while I wait or give me suggestions if I'm not sure what I want to eat. Hand to God, the fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. Even my husband who's indifferent to a FGT declared them the best and worthy of a trip back out to eat them again. That was high praise from a typical carnivore. The Po Boy was massive. I couldn't eat more than half. The "side" of FGT was enough for a meal. The chicken a Philly meat was minced so finely that every bite was a perfect blend of meat, cheese, and bread. While not a typical "restaurant", there is a charming covered outdoor patio with several picnic tables at which to dine, and kids toys to keep the young ones busy while you eat. Honestly, the only thing missing is a big fat recliner to take a nap in after you hit your carb coma. We were too full for a dessert, but the cake selection was beautiful and offered by the slice. The family owned ambiance is evident by the number of "regulars" that popped in while we were there. His sauce is not a thick tomato based one like most and the meat is not overly rubbed or seasoned but has a good smoke flavor to it. His sauce is the consistency of maple syrup with the color of golden honey. It is sweet and flavorful, which I love. I have never seen bbq sauce like this. We braved a Tallahassee afternoon monsoon today and got soaking wet getting our order and it was worth it. We ordered the DT BBQ Bundle #1, which included 1.5 slabs smoked ribs (I counted 20 bones); 5 smoked chicken leg quarters with thighs and drumsticks separated, and five smoked sausage links, as well as four large sides. We chose baked beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw and potato salad. The sides are great and round out a full meal. The smoked sausages are some of the best I have had anywhere. There is more than enough food for five to ten adults. We will be using this for meals for several days. At less than $50, this is the best meal deal in town, bar none! The menu includes ribs, chicken or sausage dinners, pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, desserts, and more sides than we named above. Drive-Thru BBQ is at the corner of 7th Avenue and Thomasville Road in Mid-Town. They are open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 8(or until they sell out).
