It was so good we called HRI when our home needed a new roof. Owner, Barry Perdue picked up when we called about getting an estimate. He made appointment to come to our home. He was on time and he delivered the detailed estimate as promised. The estimate was reasonable and offered us several choices. There was no upselling or pushing us into something we didn't want. We did experience that with another company last year. I finally had to tell them to stop calling us. The crew came out the morning of the scheduled tear off and got to work. They were hard working, efficient and respectful of us and our property. They showed up every morning at the same time. Everything was done as expected because we were informed about the process. They actually finished a half day early. Our roof looks great and our front and back yards look great because they clean up as they go. If not for the new roof I wouldn't know they had been here. They did our neighbor's roof too, and it also looks great. Barry Perdue has assembled a great crew and runs a reliable and reputable company. He cares about his product and his reputation. Barry is friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and on top of his jobs and schedule. He will update you as necessary. His fees are reasonable. Jose was in charge of the jobsite at our home. He was absolutely professional, as was the entire crew, and he was the last to leave our home yesterday upon completion. We recommend Hollister Roofing to anyone that needs a roof. We couldn't be happier about the look of the finished roof and the process. So relived it's done and happy it was done by a reputable company like Hollister Roofing. I had recently called Barry (the owner) because we had a leak around our chimney during the recent…read morerain storm. Our roof is just under 7 years old, and I found the original contract and invoice and thought maybe he could do the repair. A 7 year old roof should not be leaking if things were done correctly. The first initial phone call with Barry wasn't very friendly on his part, just seemed as though he had an attitude right off the bat. Barry calls me and advises me that he is on his way to my house. I promptly leave work and meet him there, I work two mins from home. Before I had gotten there he was already on my roof. I get out of my car about to introduce myself and he walks to the edge of the roof and says "send me those pictures you were talking about", I said okay Ill send them now. Now if Barry was any kind of professional, he would have waited for me to get home before going up on my roof. He is now walking around and shouts down " who put this tarp up here and put all these holes in your roof??" I said my Dad put the tarp up because he rain was leaking into our house. There were no holes in the roof. The nails were too short. He shouts down again, "well where is the leak you are talking about!?" I replied with "under the tarp" - "well I'm not going to look under there!" I said well would you like me to move the tarp for you? He replied with I don't even have any tools! Then huffs and puffs and said find, I'll look. He tells me he sees where the problem is. Back tracking a bit I had another roofer take a look as well, and there was a shingle that was placed incorrectly and the caulking was not done. He comes down from the roof and I asked if he could fix it. He said "well no I'm not gonna fix if it I didn't do anything wrong. If I did then I would fix it, I didn't do you can take me to court." He mentioned that the previous owner didn't like to spend a lot of money and didn't want to replace the flashing. He left and I reviewed the original invoice and contract and called Barry to let him know of this, he quickly said "oh does it say that?" If I messed it up I'll fix it, can you email that to me. So I did. No response, and with the rains coming again I was trying to get this repaired as quickly as possible. I sent a simple text message asking if he had gotten my email and asked if he could respond. Still nothing, I asked him to reply by the end of the day/ next business day. Here was his response- "OK I was going to maybe work with you but now since you're so pushy I'm gonna stick with my original thing my contract in between Mr. Goldsmith and I has nothing to do with you it's been seven years you guys put 50 nail holes around the work and that's it call my attorney BILL TIFFANY" I didn't appreciate Barry's ability to communicate or conduct business, he is completely rude and unprofessional. From the initial phone call to the gutter cleaning, Jesse and his team were on time, efficient, and thorough. While he was up on the roof, Jesse showed us where he found a few cracked tiles and explained that they weren't posing any issues yet, but we should get them repaired/replaced at some point. Since we had extra tiles lying around, he came back the following week to work on the roof. Additionally, when we asked if there was anything we could do about a few of our gutters being extra loud during the rain, he offered to come back to install some sponges that might dampen the sound of the rain hitting the gutters without blocking water flow. We decided to try his solution, and after a few days of rain, so far so good! I highly recommend Jesse and his team for any of your gutter needs!

David and Gilbert were there every step of the project. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and David still made the time to travel almost every day to make sure our project was running smoothly. My wife and I are first time homeowners and I feel like David did a great job addressing all our concerns including all the heavily rotted wood that needed replacing. This summer (summer 2026), we had a tree branch fall on our ADU roof and caused some shingle and underlayment damage. Top Tier provided a decent quote to come out to repair the damage. Gilbert's estimate was 3 times the cost of the first estimate but Gilbert identified several areas of concern that the first roofers did not indicate. For example Gilbert indicated I needed a saddle around my chimney something that the original roofer never installed. Plus several other areas of concern. It took awhile to schedule everything by Gilbert kept me informed through out the process. The repair team was excellent and also kept me informed throughout the day. The repair person (Hob), took extensive pictures and showed me the before and after of each section repaired. The owner Jay was very trustworthy and the project manager Elijah always followed through with what he said would be delivered. The workers showed up early each day as promised and did a wonderful job. I also loved the progress picture updates after each day of work. AAR had the best contract and price after sourcing multiple quotes. We even got the upgraded Solaris shingles by booking by a certain date in October which was awesome because they refract more heat in the summer. We added new gutters on for 4k too. If I had any constructive criticism to offer it would have been to communicate more with the placement on the gutters because we had to have them come back to make a patch and move the gutter to the side because it was better looking on the side of the house rather than a focal point in front. But as promised, they made it right and got the job done with my particular request. Our house looks so much more updated with these Morie Black Landmark shingles, rather than the old terracotta tiles that we had before. I've already referred 3 people to their company and my parents got their roof done by them a month later! It was a bummer they wouldn't honor a referral discount since they said we would have needed a sign out on our lawn to get a discount. They were very professional throughout the entire installation process and super willing to work with us, including coordinating around an ongoing solar installation and helping us out with finding the right paint for a new beam among ~10 paint options we had in storage (even after I gave them the wrong one initially!). Just really committed to customer service throughout the whole process. Really pleased.
