When we lived here, we used to come here all the time - it was our home away from home. Sadly, this isn't the same Press Box it once was. The old owner sold it a few years back and it has been nothing but downhill ever since. The staff are very friendly and seem to get the job done, but you can see the look on their faces. The Press Box - AMAZING DEAL! When I think of a great breakfast, I think of cheap food and a decent helping of it. That's exactly what you get at the Press Box. Ready for it? $3 BREAKFAST! No joke. 2 hearty eggs, 4 pieces of thick toast (white, wheat, or sourdough), decent helping of crispy hash browns, and your choice of bacon or sausage (link or patty). I'm telling you folks, this is the best deal around town, and frankly anywhere! Coffee is it's own separate thing, $2 but with free refills. All together you get filled up and energized for the day for a solid $5. I find the service to be fast and friendly. It has the vibe of a small town bar that serves the locals. These authentic places are places of gold, and I love it! The place has tons of TV screens so you get can caught up on all the sports news for your morning to start off just right. All in all I love this place for breakfast, which is why I try to go as much as I can. If I was just looking at this place for breakfast, I'd give it 5 stars, but I've also been for dinner, which I find the menu to be kind of overpriced unless you go on Sundays for their 50% off pizzas starting at 6pm. Came in town for a concert at the college and stumbled upon this amazing sports bar! Visited it 3 times in 2 days and each meal was perfect! The atmosphere and service was exactly what you would expect from a sports bar! Thank you Todd for making us feel like Montana was home! read more

I have had their Pizza and it is great. The "Philly" today was dry, not much meat and the onions were not cooked enough to make them brown. Need to steam the rolls. Hope the cook sees this to improve what is normally a great eating spot. read more

I have made this my 'local' place the past year or so. Decent food and always good service. Lauren, Rayna and the rest of the staff have always taken care of me and addressed any issues. We love coming here for breakfast special. However the kitchen keeps having trouble with our orders. We ask for extra crispy hashbrowns nothing crazy. It comes out with under done hashbrowns which just end up mushy and not appetizing. But the laziest thing they do is they only toast one side of the bread you order and sometimes that side is barely toasted. Not much fun eating raw bread. We understand this is a $6 breakfast bit that should not mean its executed without any effort. I have been to cooking for a long time. It's not hard to send out good food. Hope this helps. read more

11/17/18. It was very interesting to watch the owner pinch the liquor bottle stand knocking the bottles over. Then, about 30 minutes later he grabbed a plate of food from a table and slammed it to the floor causing food and ranch dressing to fly all over. The kicker! 20 mins later her goes behind the bar and slams a pint glass to the ground causing glass to go flying everywhere. All in the mean time he was pacing the bar like a psycho. read more

I've gone to the Press Box over the years but not so much in the last decade. The food and service plus atmosphere has really declined. Recently it's kitchen was shut down by the health department for several violations. In a recent Missoulian article about the shut down and compliance for the violations, one of the owner complained about "the timing of the shut down". The ego and ignorance of this owner clearly shows the compliance will only be temporary and customers who want to avoid getting sick should avoid this place because I know will. If the owner doesn't like the timing of health department violations then maybe he should do a better job of running the place. He clearly doesn't get what the primary source of the problem was. read more

I have been to the Press Box many times. I have always had good service and food. It can get very busy during ppv fights or Griz games and service workers can only do so much. Memorial Day weekend in town going thru Missoula recommended by our hotel manager as a good spot to have breakfast. Yes it is a sports bar and the decor is man caveish but we had a awesome breakfast for 2 that was fresh cooked tasted awesome and served quickly for under 19.00 A great waitress too. Worst experience I've ever had! Went there for lunch during a softball tournament. Player never got his food for 45 minutes. After asking multiple times where the players food was the waitress kept saying it was the kitchens fault, when we saw her put the order in, after asking him 20 min after not receiving. After getting him his food the waitress said disgusted, "we will take 50 percent off". She brought out each players tickets for our half of the table. 18 percent gratuity added in! The other half of the table, (different waiter) had no gratuity added in his tickets. I asked if I could get the gratuity taken off so I, as a customer, could have the right to put what I want to give her. She takes it away, then brings it back and says "I'M NOT TAKING IT OFF". Are you kidding me! No where does it say on the door or in the menu that I have to tip 18 percent! NEVER GOING BACK! What kind of place does this?!?! Ridiculous! read more

Went to watch UFC fight and have to late dinner. Food was terrible. Prices were high and atmosphere was typical sports bar, loud and dirty. If you want to have a drink and watch a game it's perfect for that but if you are hungry go somewhere else. read more

My husband and I were visiting Missoula and looking for a local place to watch the Broncos/Seahawks game. Press Box was within walking distance of our hotel and the concierge told us they had newly trained staff. That made us wonder, but we gave it a go. The wait staff were very accommodating and attentive so that training must be working. The food is pretty typical of sports bar fare so nothing mind-blowing. I went in for the McGregor/Mayweather fight. Got there very early to grab a table. Had a couple of beers and ordered a french dip. I tried to eat a few bites but it was so salty I couldn't do it. The manager said he would discount it 50% since i ate half of it. I was willing to pay full price and just order something else but he was such a douche that gave back my $20 wristband for the fight and said take it out of that. The overall look is "sports bar", but the large screens are right in front at the bar. So great seating for about 7 lucky mates. The rest of the screens are fuzzy slightly and the screen alignment is just off. The manager is always chatting with the regulars even when it is totally packed. The regulars are treated like gods it seems, while sports fans are just there to foot the bill. The waitresses seem like they have four jobs, plus this one. They are unhappy for sure. The manager stops talking with the old guys at the corner of the bar, just long enough to flirt with them. The bartenders are the type you must summon by waiving for a second round, they chat with the manager while you look lost. It's frustrating to walk four empty pitchers to the bar, beg, then get beer for your mates....it's that kinda place. As the parking lot has thinned they have added a big electronic sign about cheap breakfast. The food is just ok, have tried 7 items and all a loss really. This place is a grizz bar so don't come here on a saturday and try to watch real divisioin 1 Football. Tried to watch 2 Alabama at 10 Arkansas and all of the tv's had montana playing some team that had a track around there field. First off, I will say that I am a waitress and am very aware of the harsh demands of working a busy shift. That being said, the customer service at the press box is the worst I have encountered. The waitress acted as though she was superior to the entire table. Even when called out on her mistakes, she did not attempt to correct them. Instead she shamed us. Press Box used to be a favorite but now food quality finally moved to cheap standard food service distributor offerings--pre made and frozen to be microwaved later food. Riding on there reputation for sports and TV'S and they are fantastic. Unfortunately that is about it, after that low quality bar food at high prices, overpriced drinks served in plastic cups, no drink or food specials on big game days. Mediocre service with friendly wait staff. Too many bars in Missoula out do the press box for a return visit from me.
