Greasy bar food wayyyyy overpriced for what you get. Should have saved my money and gone to 5 guys. The burger was okay but not worth $20 Chicken tenders were bowling ally quality, also $20 Fries were not that good. Only writing this because dinner was $60 for two adults and a toddler and it was sub par. This spot is a great option for a quick bite, watching the game or just meeting up with friends. It has a pub/sports bar feel, but is family friendly. During a trip to town for the Missoula Marathon, my family and I decided to try this spot as my dad was pretty certain he had ate here years ago and wanted to try the pasty again. It was early afternoon, so it wasn't super busy, but there was ample seating and we were promptly greeted and seated. After reviewing the menu, we decided on our food which included the Butte Pasty, Caesar Salad with a side of fries and a burger. My dad confirmed this was indeed the pasty he had fond memories of from years ago, and it was still as delicious as he remembered. The Caesar, fries and burger were all really good as well. Very disappointed. The taps were not working so only bottled beer available. Server didn't know her beers so she couldn't recommend.

Today the food was good, it was a solid good, but it wasn't a great. We ordered a reuben, and oddly,it was flavorless and a bit stringy. It didn't have the usual zip I expect with a reuben. The sweet potato fries were also uninspired. Our server, Crystal, was a wonderful ray of sunshine. read more

The 100 oz beer tower is NOT 100 ounces. They use 14 oz glasses and you don't fill them to the rim so about 12 oz per glass. It's 5.5 glasses. Thats 66 oz. Maaaaaybe 70 if you really fill the glass. It's the equivalent of a pitcher. It's still cheaper than buying 5.5 beers, but why lie? It's nowhere near 100 oz. Legit false advertising. read more

Not my first time visiting. Asked for a burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Lettuce was very sad and barely there, no tomato, a few onions. Was not impressed with the burger. Nothing on the receipt to indicate LTO. Good soccer game.!! read more

Our server, Kate, is what made our most recent trip to Mar Bar incredible! They had a busy evening with a poker tournament going on, and my food came out very cold twice. But Kate was attentive (while working the entire middle section of the restaurant like a PRO during this busy evening), and she apologized, comped my meal, and gave me a discount when I ordered something else to eat. She was genuine, patient, and kind during a busy night where she easily could have gotten by with less effort and attention to our specific table. Great service our servicer was awesome. the menu that we ordered from today was just rolled out. We ordered the jalapeno hopper poppers and these were not frozen they were freshly made. Dined at this place a few weeks ago, but am just now writing the review after talking about it with friends and getting an account. Went there with about 5 friends and was honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The server was nice, but she hardly checked on us. We asked many times for utensils, and even had to remind her 3 times about a drinks that were ordered. She was nice, but still just avoided us. I ordered wings with ranch on the side in a cup. When I got my wings, the cup of ranch spilled all over the wings and chips, it was so much ranch actually (a good deal if it was contained haha), and it was soupy. I usually never complain about mess ups and wont send anything back, but my friends encouraged me to since it was literally ranch soup and gross. I wish I took a photo, it was appalling. A guy from the kitchen was giving us the food, so when he came back to set down another plate, I asked if my dish can be remade, as it was a mess and I ordered the ranch on the side. He was pretty rude and said that the kitchen is backed up and wouldn't recommend that (?). I let him know that if its not possible, that it's fine, but if it can be done, I would appreciate it. He was pretty unfriendly when he heard this and left with no confirmation of it would actually be remade. Anyways, I got my food a while later. Was a very bad experience, my friends and I were kind of shocked at everything, especially with me being told to basically not send something back. I am usually very easy going, but just a bad experience overall. I felt like a burden for being a customer. Also the mac and cheese is bad and has almost no cheese sauce, its kind of just like plain pasta with a whisper of cheese. This place is a bit of a mix. Sort of a sports bar with a bit of Irish added in. Bangers and mash was quite good and a decent size portion. Blackened cod was yummy, but the serving size was pathetic, more like two fish sticks (see photo). For $15 there should really be more fish to the dish! House salad was nicely done. We were there on a Wednesday and, surprise, Wednesday is Bingo night. Fun! We haven't played the game in ages and it was They do a nice job of the Bingo, with a variety of game boards. Decor is cool, but the main drawback is that it is loud. Part of it is the crowd and that's fine, but the music was way too loud and it made it hard to have a conversation. Luckily they turn the music off once Bingo starts or you'd never be able to play! He found us spots to sit, made sure we were immediately waited upon, and even changed the TV channel to our sports game. The "Mar Bar" as it's referred to by locals, definitely knows how to make a delicious burger! All their burgers are made with Angus beef and are always cooked to perfection. I've never had a burger that I didn't like there. I'm a bit of a burger lover, so that's what I tend to order almost everywhere I go. With that being said, I have tried their lobster macaroni and cheese and also their buffalo macaroni and cheese and both were absolutely TO DIE FOR! We tend to only eat here for lunch when there is a less of a crowd, but if you come after 4, be prepared for lots of people. While this is a bar, I would classify it as slightly more upscale than your normal bar, with an Irish pub feel to it. On weekends, you can expect a full house in the evenings but that just adds to the vibe of the place. The service can be so-so depending on who your server is, as with most places. If you are a burger lover like me, please do yourself a favor and try one of their burgers, as they never disappoint. While they do serve salads, I suggest skipping them and going straight to something with some actual substance. Enjoy! read more

My friend and I came here for dinner around 715 pm on Memorial Day. When we sat down our waitress told us that food was taking.about 40 minutes because the kitchen was short staffed. I work in healthcare so totally understand working short staffed so we said ok and stayed. We ordered an appetizer which maybe took 20 minutes or so. We had pretzel bites which were good. We waited and waited on our food. It took over an hour to get our food. We finally asked for it to be packed up to go because we were tired and my friend had to be up at 415 am for a 7 am flight. Our waitress was extremely nice and we know that the amount of time it took to get the food was not her fault. She even took half off our bill without us asking. And we tipped her on the amount prior to the discount. But once we got back to the hotel we were staying at and I got ready to eat my burger was burnt. See the picture. She said her salad was just ok. I did not feel like walking back to the restaurant so took a few bites of the burger and ended up throwing it out. Ended up ordering pizza. Being new locals to the area we found that not many places are open on Sundays. Thomas Meagher was open and hopping!! We were looking for a place with unique menu, no fast food, not just bar food... and an indoor vibe where we could chill and chat for abit. This place crossed off all of those for us. Irish food, full bar, lotsof seating clear to the back. Beer selections were unavailable (Boddingtons or Murphys) and menu outdated on some they no longer offer. But they had Guiness and you can never go wrong with Guiness. I decided to try the Dublin Lemonade, it was tasty, however a little watered-down. Food portions were a huge surprise they were large, and were talking sandwich large enough to fill my husband up, lol! Both of pur sammies, Ruben and Irish Dip, were piled high with meat and toppings, side colcannon mashed potatoes were chunky, slightly warm and delicious. Next time I want to try the cottage pie. I love mashed potatoes. The only good thing I can say is the help was friendly & attentive. They were not busy at all. The menu is very limited so if you looking for anything more than a overpriced sandwich go somewhere else. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a house salad & it came with a side of Coleslaw. The coleslaw came in a paper catchup holder from a fast food place. Less than two bites. My grilled chicken came fried & overdone. The salad looked like they scraped it out of a already made taco. That food & 4 whiskey drinks were $89.00 & change. McDonald's would of been a better choice read more

Excellent sports bar with friendly, very efficient bartenders, and great food! I had wings with 2 sauces: buffalo and Nashville hot - both were delicious, crispy and fabulous! We went for MNF and there are loads of tv's so we could watch the game, and baseball fans could also watch the playoffs. It was packed, so there was great energy and ambience.
