This is my absolute favorite place in Youngstown. I come here often to study! In my opinion, this is the best place to study in the area. It's usually decently quiet and there's plenty of space. Great place to have coffee, tea and a filling and wholesome meal! Went here to have lunch with my grandma and mother and THEY LOVED IT. Prices are worth the quality of food, which is very high:) Recommended this place any day of week, terrific options for vegetarians and meat eaters. I had the standard salad with balsamic and the hummus. My mom loved the vegetable panini and the hummus was great! My only knock off was that the dressing on the salad was overdone. Adorable little coffee shop/cafe on YSU's campus in an old historical looking house. It's usually a long wait in line (that's great that they have good business). But even on not so busy times, food takes forever! And nothing on there menu should take more than 10 minutes to make. The ingredients are fresh and everything is delicious, but the portions are small for the price. I understand that small businesses need to make a profit when they are using good quality ingredients, but unfortunately for me, I'm a broke college student and can't afford to pay over $10 for a small sandwich and a black coffee and still be hungry afterward. He was very vague and snippy when answering my questions and made me feel like I was being a complete inconvenience to his day, even though I only ordered a simple latte. It's good. They have locally roasted coffee, and they do a decent job at serving it up. The real value here is in the food. Excellent food, served quickly in an AMAZING atmosphere. See, this is an old converted house. They renovated and re-finished most of it, and it was done with amazing attention to detail. You can kick back, plug in your computer and get some work done, while munching on some great food. The coffee is done well, and honestly is the ONLY place in the city to get coffee. The service is quick as well, so you can't go wrong here. It can be a bit of a college hang out, but everyone is respectful and most are there to work. read more

Went a bit out of my way to go to a local coffee shop instead of a chain for breakfast on a road trip. It's in an be old house and has a great atmosphere with room for laptop users, people running in and out, or those who are there to chat. They have delightful and quick service and a nice selection of breakfast and lunch options including simple hot food (frittatas and waffles for breakfast). The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the coffee... My latte was fine but not as great as everything else about the place. Nice atmosphere - but our coffees were lukewarm and I asked for an espresso macchiato (double shot, dollop of foam) and got a 'Starbuckian' macchiato. Lots of foam and steamed milk...drowning two shots of espresso. Should've known when they asked if I wanted caramel syrup (said no)...the barista was conversing with a friend across the bar and not focusing on the customer at hand. Benefit of the doubt - I'm sure they're a good shop! But cold coffee and a messed up (fairly explicitly stated) order...no good. This is my new favorite spot in Youngstown. The Victorian house provides a cozy and intimate atmosphere for studying, a date, or just grabbing lunch. The menu is phenomenal and just what I love in a coffee shop; not just biscuits and scones, but delectable and original soups, salads, sandwiches, panini a, frittatas, and frittata sandwiches, and waffles. I had the Mediterranean frittata on a soft flaky croissant with the hugs latte with rice milk (what?! So delicious and tasty). The staff were helpful, friendly, and authentic. From a quick google search I went in at 6:45pm to grab a quick bite thinking they closed at 9, the time listed online. Apparently they close at 7 in the summer because at 6:57 an employee walks to my table to inform me they close at 7. Then another employee sits at a table next to me and says loudly that it was 7:08 and they were officially closed. I've been here a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere and the drinks. I haven't eaten here aside from their yogurt cup with house granola and found it to be very tasty. I always get the frozen strawberry drink with whipped cream and its pretty good. The people who work here are awesome! We went in this week and the young man talking to us and taking our orders was very friendly and sweet. People like him make me want to go back there, because the employees actually treat their customers with respect; they are glad you're there. read more

Pressed is one of my favorite weekly splurges during the semester. It's quite pricy for their food but the menu is great and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. I love their paninis (Ciao is my favorite one) and their Asian Salad with chicken!! It seems everyone is into Sinful Salted Caramel Coffee - I haven't tried it yet but it looks good. They forgot the chips with my meal yesterday, but they more than made up for it by covering my meal today and even tossing in dessert for free. Plus, the place is classier than before. It's wonderful to have a local coffee shop by the university. It's often crowded so I recommend calling your ahead if you want something quick. I hope they stay around here forever.
