We stopped in the 1st time just for some coffee while inn the area not knowing what we'd find inside. So few months later we returned for lunch. This is cute and cozy spot tucked away in a plaza. You first see the large dessert and sweet treats selection when you walk in. They have an extensive menu between breakfast, lunch and comfort foods with specials as well. First visit to The Mocha House and we ordered Caffe Lattes with Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavored syrup, ($6 each) a Linzer Tart ($3.50) and Hummus with Pita wedges ($5.49). So, I don't often get a flavor in my iced lattes and opted for one pump today...not a good choice for me. Many times the syrup flavors have an odd aftertaste and today was one of those times. They use Torani brand syrup which is pretty much an industry standard. Probably most people would enjoy this, just not me. The Linzer Tart was a little Fl different as it has a shell of chocolate over the top cookie. This was a great tasting cookie. My only critique is that both cookies were thick and my preference would be that each would be half as thick. Great flavor though. The Hummus and Pita Wedges was tasty...we could have used a few more pita wedges, otherwise it was nice flavored and just right size fir an afternoon snack. This cafe has quite a large menu of breakfast, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, more than 10 cakes, pastries, coffees, espresso drinks and teas. There is a good amount of seating, you place your order at the counter and anything not ready to serve right there is delivered to your table. The cafe is decorated in dark colors so it feels a little dark inside. The staff is attentive and friendly. read more

Best breakfast in Boardman because it has something for everyone. The staff is very helpful and mature and patient. They have a huge variety of beverages but I really like the regular black coffee it had a smoky aftertaste and aroma. The desert looks very beautiful on display, you have to keep coming back to try something new each time. Doesn't seem like you can get bored here. There are charging stations for your phone and waitstaff and limited seating because it's busy on weekends but looks like a nice place on weekdays. Thank you for helping feed my kid. read more

We just left Mocha House and ended up at Perkins. Second breakfast. REASON!! Asked for brown sugar 3 times for the oatmeal. NEVER GOT IT I ordered the Mocha House Waffle. DON'T bother Preprocessed waffle, barely warm. Raw Pecans on top. Eggos are better. We decided to walk out. We decided to leave, so $21.00 later we ended up at Perkins I only left one star review so this would post. Oh by the way . . . Wonderful cafe with great food and drinks. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere with very pleasant and attentive staff. I had their pumpkin spice latte with almond milk and their strawberry coconut cake. Both were amazing. There's a food menu as well for burgers and sandwiches as well but we already had lunch so we didn't try the food but saw when they came out to the other patrons and they looked great and very large portions as well. Prices aren't bad at all. Exceptional service. Would highly recommend this place and I'd go back next time I visit. read more

Food is great service is ok as it's deli type ordering. Which brings me to the 3 star review. It's the people the visit here. They all sit down before they order making it hard for people who have already ordered to sit down. This place really needs signed saying please place your order before sitting down, and then enforce it. It's common sense and the flow of people in and out would be faster. read more

First time visiting this restaurant. Initially planned to grab a sandwich but the dessert cases were too strong of a pull. We settled on a slice of pie and a lemon bar with caramel Frappe drinks. The drinks were perfect! Just enough of a coffee flavor that made it not dessertish. The Cherry Cheese pie was a good size portion--didn't finish it. The lemon bar size was what you would expect. Both the pie and the lemon bar were okay. The frappe is the reason for the four stars. The place was busy for lunch with a line to order. The menu board was handwritten in chalk with an overwhelming amount of options. They should have a paper menu for those of us who can't quickly decide fast enough when waiting in the line. You had to be right on top of the boards at the register in order to read them. The service was fast and friendly. More outside seating would have been nice. Always enjoy coming to The Mocha House, good food served quick at a decent price. It has everything you want in a cafe from bake goods to specialty coffees. However, it's a very small place, you have to grab a table when you walk in if you see one then have to order at the counter. So, it's best to have someone save your seat while you order. If you come alone you may need to wait for one. I think this place would do amazing if they found a new location that was bigger and they could decorate in a more modern manner. The carpet in this tiny cafe is filthy and needs to be torn out and something put down that can be cleaned each night. I'm surprised the health dept doesn't enforce it more. read more

The Mocha House is my go-to post exam brunch meal. I love love love the homey breakfast foods it gives me so much comfort. I love the egg & cheese croissant with hashbrowns. It's perfect. Like it should be Service was not good, it was very mediocre, I asked for a vanilla coffee cold brew with a shot of espresso.... Don't do that.. it was caffeinated for sure but they over did it with espresso and I couldn't even taste the vanilla.... I also have a heart issue I cannot consume that much espresso, my boyfriend tried it his heart is racing he doesn't even like coffee and took him by surprise that I didn't want the drink so he tried it... And then commences the heart racing part... I'm very disappointed if you want good food from mocha house please do not go to this one go to the one in Warren, also do not get the pita bread it's mushy and if I wanted it that way I would've went out for some good ole ice cream... The Mocha House is definitely a staple spot for breakfast in Youngstown. I like the local feel and quick service. The breakfast is always good and reasonably priced. I tried the cold chicken walnut croissant sandwich for lunch. It was lack luster to say the least. The croissant looked flat and wasn't flaky. The chicken salad was nice, but really there wasn't any walnuts in it, so to have just a chicken salad croissant would have been better. The iceberg lettuce and small slice of tomato was blah. I go here every time I'm in Youngstown for breakfast and will continue to come, but won't be back for lunch. read more

There were so many options, I almost wanted to hand the lady my credit card and say just let me know when it starts declining. I could honestly stay in here all day. The ladies behind the counter were very kind and welcoming. The Cheesecake and brownie I got were EXQUISITE! I got 3 desserts and only paid 11.25, for huge portions so definitely worth it especially since it is not something I always do! You can buy in portions or whole if you want. It's not the original M.H. in Warren, but it still has the best cheese cake around, which the California cheese cake is my personal fav. The food can be a little pricy but breakfast, lunch, and dinners are not bad. My other favorites are the Mocha House omelet, white chicken chili , and I think it's called the hot Milky Way cappuccino. This is going to be a two-part review. For Boardman, Ohio, this is an awesome coffee shop. There are very few locally-owned places around and this is the only place I actually saw young people in my entire week stay here. They have a HUGE menu, a huge food and pastry selection, and very cheap prices. Apparently they also have live music occasionally, so that's pretty cool. I was told it's a pretty popular hang out when school is in session too. For any other place in the world or any person that knows anything about coffee: they don't know what a french press is and their recipe for a mocha is a shot of espresso and chocolate milk...that's what you're dealing with. All the frappucinos are made with chocolate milk for some reason. So. It's slightly incompetent, uninspired coffee. However, the chai milkshake is AWESOME and the prices are really cheap--but you're definitely getting what you're paying for. read more
