Where to begin. Is it the stinky halls? Is it the dog poop in the halls? Is it the broken glass by the pool from the weekend parties? It it the smell on garbage night where the halls smell so bad you can't walk down them? I don't know where to begin, but I do know where it ends.... Move out day - The lease says a walkthrough with the Greystar team is part of the move out. Where was Greystar when I moved out? Nowhere! Could I give my keys to anyone? NO! Did anyone do a walkthrough?! NO! Well how did you get the keys back you might ask? Well, I had to bug them a few days in a row after moving out. Two years later I get an email saying I owe them money! Why? Because of "standard fee for a carpet cleaning" $75 which is NOT NOTED IN THE CONTRACT I SIGNED. I asked them where in the contract it says "carpet cleaning" and they ignored my email, then sent me another request for payment for carpet cleaning that I never agreed to. Also, I took pictures before moving out with PERFECT carpet. They choose to not show up on our move out date, then say we stained the carpet, then say they had to charge us the standard fee when none exists in any contract. To the person from Greystar who may reply. Guess what? I have already emailed your team, don't reply to me here, you have my email, your response should be "we got back to him and removed the charge". read more

I used to really enjoy living here. The location is fantastic and the parking is great, however every month the fire alarm goes off. It's really annoying how they don't fix the problems, but yet hide or miscommunicate if there's an issue. The fire alarm going off once a year or once every 6 months to test, no problem. But it seems to be happening more and more frequently, which is a huge inconvenience. The lack of communication from the office to its residents needs to be addressed and worked on. There are often 'improvements' being done, but no communication from the office. Recently work was being done in the parking structure and we were away fro a few days. I come back to caution tape being all over my car and concrete/gravel dust all over it. If there was an email or they would have called me, I could have moved my car but no. They just worked around it. Which is fine, but seeing caution tape on my vehicle was not how I wanted to come home from a weekend away. The turnover on the staff is very high. You won't see people there for more than a few years. I suggest not living here as the lack of communication between residents and Greystar staff is awful read more

UPDATED: Since writing my yelp review after moving out, Greystar decided to respond 9 months later with some robo response and THEN proceeded to email my roommate asking for money AGAIN. In my initial correspondence with Greystar, the point of contact assured me that he was not "harassing" us by trying to charge us $7000 that we did not owe and told us he would get back to us to confirm that we were right, which he never did. We haven't heard anything from greystar until now They want $99 in utilities plus interest. Ashley and I paid everything we were asked to through their own rent management system. If they failed to put this charge up before the move out, that is on them. PLUS the only reason we owe interest is because no one ever got back to us after the initial conversation. We would pay, though, except now we completely do not trust them as they have tried to convince us that we owe them $7000 that we did not owe. They haven't told us the dates of the "utilities" we "owe" them - how are we supposed to know that these are not the utilities for the months of the rent they tried to charge us that we didn't owe. Since greystar seems to think it can resolve this issue by trying to squeeze more money out of us, I've attached all the receipts. Greystar is a perfect example of why people hate their landlords - feigned incompetence in the name of higher profits. Do yourself a favor and live anywhere else. read more

I love Pressler Apartments. My partner and I were astounded by the value when we toured. We couldn't believe the price for the quality and proximity to downtown! We have a 2nd floor unit, right above retail, so we have concrete floors and an oversized balcony. We love the built in shelving along our hallway and in our restroom. The tile backsplash and custom accent lighting throughout adds a luxury feel. The unit is flooded with natural light from the south-facing wall with five floor-to-ceiling windows, but can be shut out well with the natural wood venetian blinds. Best of all, we love how small the community is! The mid-rise energy is friendly and courteous, and the management team knows and cares for the community well. The pool, gym, and lounge are modest in size, but I've never seen more than two residents using any amenity at any time. The new Fetch mail courier system is *fantastic* I get a text and email when my package is delivered within the 2 hour window of my choosing. LOVE. I'm not sure if our units are really well soundproofed, or if our neighbors are really quiet. I never hear anything from other units except the whir of a vacuum on occasion. I will note that, like anything else in the west downtown area, you will hear the train horn go by. Same story in the Seaholm luxury high-rise where our friend lives. No complaints, and lots of love for this place! read more

Ummmmm, they somehow removed my review previously, which I didn't think they were allowed to do. They lure you in because it's close to downtown with free parking, then the disappointments start piling up. When we first moved in, what should have been an outlet by the desk was just capped wires sticking out from the wall. When maintenance "fixed" it the first time, it was loose and sparked when I tried to plug something in. The fire alarm went off once a month for six months straight. It started getting downright dangerous as people started ignoring it. They never gave us a straight answer as to why it kept going off. I started getting panic attacks. The train kept me up all night night after night throughout my year there. There were always maintenance issues in our unit, AC broke down, light fixture broke, pipe cracked under the sink, dishwasher broke. Nothing was ever fixed the first time either. Every issue required multiple visits. When we brought these issues up to management they didn't believe us and refused to allow us to quietly exit our lease early. They said we're could pay a transfer fee and move to a more expensive unit across the hall. Yeah, no. We left as soon as we could. read more

Update, I've been at the Pressler for almost two years now and it's still a great place to live. Everything runs great and there aren't really any issues to my knowledge. If something breaks, the leasing office staff gets right on it. One of the things I originally liked though about living here was working with the staff, particularly the assistant manager, Alicia. She was really helpful, so I was sad to see that she moved out. However, Kellie has taken her place since then. The new assistant manager, Kellie, has been absolutely incredible. She's always in a good mood, will drop anything she's doing to help out and seems to know everyone by name. Whenever I come down to pick up a package or ask a question, I get a little bummed out if she's not working. Having such a reliable staff helps to make Pressler Apartments one of the best places I've ever lived and Keelie is a big part of that. read more

Pros: - Location - Pool - Free parking Cons: - Moved in and the dishwasher was broken; it took over a month to fix. Replacement dishwasher was cheap compared to the previous one - Roommate's car was damaged by a hit-and-run in the resident parking garage; Pressler/Graystar management didn't make any attempt to help and said they purposefully have very few surveillance cameras because "it's a liability". They also claimed the camera facing the parking garage gate was broken (and probably still is). We had the make and model of the car that did the damage but Pressler/Graystar management couldn't be bothered to look it up in their computer system either. - Doors and gates are broken or stuck open for weeks (the garage gate is stuck open as I write this). Pressler/Graystar management acted annoyed when I complained: "We do not offer security, but limited accessibility. Please keep this in mind." - The place is filthy. Pressler/Graystar management even asked residents to rat on each other for a $100 rent credit to control the amount of pet excrement around the property. - Do you like air conditioning? Ours has been broken for 2+ weeks. It is broken right now and I'm sweating all over this keyboard. They generously provided a backup AC (that was also broken!). We still do not have a working AC. My neighbor had her AC go out for 2+ months but the mobile units actually worked. - The rooftop that they like to advertise on tours and on the website has never been open since we've lived here (nearly 9 months). - Your mail might get stolen as happened to me (other residents have had this issue too) - The hallways smell like either garbage, weed, or a mix of both. Also, you'll be charged $30/month for the freedom to leave trash in the hallways 5 days a week. - Management is incredibly slow to respond to emails (if they respond at all). They are great at making promises and feigning empathy. I'm sure they'll have some nice response to this review but it won't fix my AC. That's about it. We've talked to residents who have been here for a number of years and they used to love it. Unfortunately, as other reviews have noted, Greystar took over and it has been going downhill ever since. We thought we'd have peace of mind renting here but we were wrong. You can do better - look elsewhere. We wish we did. read more

For those looking for a building to bring your pets to urinate and defecate in the hallways, this is the place for you! Looking to let your kids urinate by the pool? Pressler is the place! Love the aroma of smelly garbage? Residents leave their trash out for long weekends- free sniffs!! No security guards at the pool over the weekend = massive parties. Invite your friends...no wait, invite 50 friends! Do yourself a favor and shop around- Pressler has some of the highest prices around Austin. With so many new buildings opening downtown, my advice is to shop around! Oh, and beware- the AC units are located on the roof of the 6th floor. So, I'm returning the favor to my fellow yelpers! I found Pressler apartments online, and signed my lease sight unseen before moving from California... Reviews helped me determine what questions to ask and where I wanted to live before I had a chance to get here and investigate myself. I have lived at Pressler for 4 months now, and it's great minus a couple things. There are more pros than cons to living at Pressler, but here are both- Pros- ~Great location ~nice updated apartments ~friendly residents/friendly office staff ~gated garage with free parking (generally on your floor level) ~nice outdoor pool area with bbq's, fun but not rowdy. ~nice gym ~dog park right up the street ~generally feel safe and maintenance issues have always been resolved quickly. I only have a couple gripes, they're easily remedied, but since they haven't been... here they are... Cons- ~My apartment windows face West fifth street, the train horn is LOUD... It sometimes is so loud it tears me from my sleep and sounds like the train is coming in my bedroom. I have semi-gotten used to it, but my guests have not... my mother stayed a couple nights and found it unbearable. I have heard from residents who live on the interior, or face other directions that it ins't as bad, but others facing my way share my experience. Supposedly next year they're installing a stop light/sign so they won't have to sound the horn, fingers crossed. ~Trash valet service comes with your apartment, additional $30 per month. Great, if you're in to that sort of thing... I'm not, my legs aren't broken and I don't always want to put my trash out in the two hours they suggest each evening. I want to update my review - the Pressler staff has all been so wonderful since I've moved in. Timothy, Sarah, and Crystal are always so helpful and go out of their ways to make my life a little easier! They really just deserve recognition for being so friendly, professional and helpful ALL the time. I will renew here as long as I'm renting! Crystal Truehart at the Pressler has helped make my transition to the Pressler very easy. There has recently been a change in management companies at the complex (that occurred right before I singed my lease) and Crystal has smoothed over all the hiccups that occur during that transitional phase, constantly responding to emails with my questions. Crystal also went above and beyond to help me out on my moving day when I encountered some hiccups on my own! Glad to have Crystal around to keep the place running smoothly! read more

This used to be a Gables property but has been taken over by "Greystar" -- which owns several properties around the nation. It's a great building above a taco place on West 6th. If I remember correctly it is LEED certified. I worked with Crystal and found a unit within a couple of days for a great price. When we first met her, she was working by herself on a busy Sunday afternoon during the move-in season. She was super efficient and was very apologetic about the wait (even though it was understandable). She showed us some good options and kept us informed via email and phone of other updates. At the time of writing I haven't even moved in and I'm already pleased with the service and apartment. Looking forward to getting settled soon. read more

Having lived here for a year, I highly recommend Pressler. - The location is great: It's close to downtown and Whole Foods but far enough to feel like it's in a neighborhood. - The building is nice: The apartments are spacious and well laid out, the gym is one of the best rental building gyms, and the pool is great and almost never crowded. - The price is fair (for 2015 Austin): It's significantly nicer than a lot of the other buildings in similar price ranges and distances from downtown, and there's a fair discount for it being a 5-6 year old building (built 2009) vs. brand new. (I don't think price should be taken into account in a Yelp review, as prices can be easily compared across buildings without reviewers' subjective judgment). - The people are great: Management (Greystar) is responsive, attentive, and generally aware of issues. I have lived in Pressler for about 5 months now after moving from the 2nd Street District. Overall, I have had a great experience living here. The location is fantastic. I love walking to Whole Foods, Amy's, and restuarants in the Clarksville neighborhood. It's a cheap lyft ride or just a walk back to the downtown bars and concert venues. In terms of the actual apartment complex, I am so happy with how spacious our apartment is, especially the cabinets and large kitchen island. The appliances are new and in great condition. Every apartment I have seen in the complex has a great layout! The amenities in the building are great. The pool area is always clean and has plenty of seating, umbrellas, tables, and grills. The gym is excellent, with up to date equipment, water, and TVs. I also appreciate how well the mail and package delivery is managed for the residents. I have experienced some issues here with normal wear and tear when moving into the apartment, and some complaints regarding our noisy neighbors. Alicia (Assistant Manager) and the management of the building have been fantastic and efficient in handling everything. I am happy with Pressler and would recommend this property to anyone! read more

At this time, we have been in Pressler for about two months now and are happy with our place. After living in the 2nd Street District for three years, I am particularly happy with the significant reduction in ambient noise from bars, restaurants, vehicles, sirens, etc. The West Austin neighborhood is much more quiet and still has a number of places within walking distance, including Whole Foods (and Amy's Ice Cream). Additionally, we are able to get in and out of our place without getting caught in the pre- and post-work traffic that backs up in the center of Downtown. An obvious difference that I have noticed between Pressler and AMLI Downtown (my previous residence) is that the residents in Pressler say hello to each other in the hallways and parking garage. For whatever reason, there were a lot of unreturned hallway greetings in the AMLI. This is certainly not a huge deal, but does make the building feel a bit more homey (not to be confused with homie). As expected when moving into any place that someone else has lived before, there was a bit of visible/functional wear and tear upon moving in - Alicia (Assistant Manager) has been fantastic in getting these minor items repaired/replaced as necessary and in a timely fashion. She has been there to help us from the start with all of those odds and ends that need to be taken care of when moving into a new building and her help has been much appreciated. The gym is nice and clean; the pool looks awesome though we have not been down there yet; we are excited to try the 3rd Floor sundeck with wifi; the concrete hallways, in particular, are dirty (near filthy) with road grime being tracked in from the parking garage. Lastly, I love AT&T U-verse. Everyone has had awful cable providers, I am sure, and I am very happy to have AT&T in this building. Good apartments & staff, but I hated the train. I lived here for 18 months, and wanted to break down the pros and cons of my experience. PROS: Pretty nice apartments and good staff. Sterling was always very helpful in the office. Maintenance was always prompt with fixing any issues, which were few. Location - You're about a mile and a half walk from the very center of downtown. The east side is obviously further. Whole Foods in walking distance, FreshPlus nearby, and a Randalls a couple miles west. Zilker is just across the walking bridge under Mopac. Tacos & Tequila directly underneath your apartment, making it easy to wake up at 10am on Saturday/Sunday and get brunch without waiting in line. Other restaurants nearby. Pet friendly - dog treats next to the elevator, free poop bags near each entrance, a few different spots right outside of the building where your dog can go to the bathroom. There is a good dog park about .3 miles North of the complex. The liquor store Wiggys is dog friendly and nearby. CONS: The main reason why I moved away: THE TRAIN HORN. Pressler is located about 100 yards from the train tracks, so if you face South (West 5th Street) you will hear the train. The train itself isn't usually too loud, but there is a crossing less than a mile away, meaning that they blow the train horn obnoxiously loud every time a freight comes by. I don't know the exact schedule, but this can happen a lot. In my apartment, it was super, super loud. I remember a period where it would happen at 11pm, 1130, midnight, and even later. The horns are of various length and volume,. I've talked to some other residents about the train, and they say the train horn doesn't bother them. Maybe my apartment was just in a weird location that amplifies the horn sound, but if I would have heard the train when originally touring the apartment it's tough to say whether or not I would have moved in. I value quiet apartments. Valet trash is required and cost 25 or 30 bucks. I hate valet trash. Some of the dog-owning residents are lazy and gross. I never saw poop in the hallway, as pictured in one of the other reviews, but there was a period (Fall of 2015) where multiple people on my floor were letting their dogs pee in the parking garage area on my floor. This went on for too long, and the building eventually sent an email about it. I don't know if the culprits moved out, got yelled at by the building, or just started acting like adults and walking their dogs. I don't fault the Pressler team for this because this was obviously due to bad residents. Other facts: There are 2 callboxes that you can buzz guests up to; food delivery people always struggle to get in. Fire Alarms - there were 2, maybe 3 fire alarms in the 18 months I lived there. Not bad. Guest parking - there is some guest parking underneath. Pool - unlike some complexes I've been to in Austin, this pool does get some sun. Not all day, but still better than some other complexes I've been to. Internet - AT&T U-Verse and Time Warner, I believe. AT&T was fine. Lyft/Uber/Fasten - usually takes them 5-10 minutes to get there. Overall, I'd recommend living here if you're A. In one of the apartments that isn't lit up by the train horn, or B. Unbothered by the train horns. I think the prices went up a little bit as I was moving out, but I'd still say it's a great place to live downtown for the price. read more

I was going to leave well-enough alone with this place until recently so I'm giving everyone fair warning about the Good/Bad about my experiences with Pressler Apartments. 1. Do not rent an apartment facing 5th St. The train noise will drive you crazy. You will not 'get used to it'. Earplugs will not help The view sucks. 2. Do not rent an apartment that is not 'indoors'. The wind in the winter time will cause you to freeze in the winter which will cause your electric bill to go sky-high. 3. Do not rent an apartment with cement floors. I know it's cool to have cement floors but they're also cold in the winter which will make you turn up the heat which will make your electric bill go sky-high. 4. As soon as you move in glue all of the cute little metal handles together because they will become unscrewed and fall in the disposal and down the sink. 5. Buy sanitary napkins and cover the smoke alarms as they will go off frequently and drive you insane. This happens at least once a month. Dogs don't like it either. 6. Do not ever, ever, ever, ever smoke in your apartment. Or on your balcony. Unless it's pot or K2 'cause that's like OK right? You will be fined, warned, tortured, blamed for the near-death of the people above and below you. You will be charged a zillion dollars when you leave because they will have to paint and deodorize the place and it will cost thousands of dollars but don't ask for receipts because, you know, like, wow, that's just too much trouble for the semi-pro management to manage. 7. Don't think the parking garage is 'safe' because the gates are frequently broken and left open. People can also climb over the rails. Once they get in they can enter the building and do what they want - like break into your apartment should you accidentally leave your apartment unlocked. The building is NOT safe. 8. The building is now a 'second-generation' property. This means the wooden trim on the balcony and the door jambs and windows is warped. It will never ever be fixed. The AC will leak out. Take pictures of it when you move in so you can't be blamed for 'damaging' it when you leave. 9. Avoid apartments with teeny-weeny stacked washer/dryers. They waste electricity and break frequently. 10. Do not expect the semi-pro management to understand the computer software they use. It's flawed. They can't input information correctly. It loses information that should have been input correctly. You will be blamed for information that is on the printed lease that they can't find in 'the system'. For instance, they will send you emails complaining that they can't contact you. 11. Don't believe them when they do a walk-through when you leave after you've spent $300 cleaning the place up squeeky-clean and it's smells as swell as puppy-breath and they tell you it's great no-problem nice-to-know-you sorry we can't renew your lease because we can gouge some new sucker for $400 more a month nothing personal you're too old to live down here anyway and it's just bidness hehheheheheh.... 12. When they threaten to take you to collections after you've been gone for 4 months because they can't contact you (though they do the threatening via email) and want to bleed you for $500 more because it came up their system somehow or corporate threatened someone in the office and you have to spend a lot of time and a lot of money sending certified letters to the Texas Attorney General and everyone else you can complain to make sure they spend at least $500 in man-hours justifying their incompetence. Otherwise, the pool is nice, the workout room is nice, the elevator smells good, the office-staff is generally helpful and the neighborhood is great. Just be prepared to be cast aside if they can't raise your rent enough to make them happy when your lease is up. Stick with Gables - they're a lot more professional. read more

I've been at Pressler for 5 years now and had my car broken into 3 times. Once, it was the actual Hired nightly security guard. Just recently my car was stolen from the gated garage. I did get it back, but they're are so many homeless Around bc of the train and the woods provide camps for them at night. The high rent is a joke for the lack of security here. Supposedly, there is a nightly security company but they are never seen around. It's great living 5 blocks from DT but no restaurants can stay open for long here bc no business for them in this area. For what they charge in rent, this is and older property now. Pay a few hundred more and maybe get better security down the street. Not to even mention then train all night long. read more

Greystar is full of incompetent employees and practices. First, they rented me a unit at 5th Street Commons which the last resident had ruined by using her 700square foot apartment as an ad hoc shelter for 6 dogs with a condition that causes all their hair to fall out. After several denials and doctors bills due to my allergies, and cleaning bills out of pocket and the purchase of 4 air filters, they denied that this happened. However after the proven exposure to what that girl left behind and several resident accounts on the condition of that apartment they agreed to move me to Pressler. I lived in Pressler for 1.5 years and at that time I secured a storage unit. Someone on staff threw out or stole thousands of dollars of my stored items away. Thier response? Well after avoiding me for a month I got: Not our fault! How do we even know anything was in there! It's on you. Kellie Kiersman the Assistant Manager is extremely manipulative. She sent an email to my former employer knowing I was in another state at a new job to recant everything she had initially admitted to. After several emails and documentation to every overpaid executive at Greystar, I was literally ignored. So my assessment? They build shiny new properties cheaply but hire idiots in the leasing office and pay them so little money they can't even afford to live in the said property. Kellie is a testament to that. To add insult to injury she sent me a $400 bill for a key fob and a parking sticker!!! You lose/steal 6 times that amount of my belongings and you want to charge me 400 bucks because your employer does not have a drop box for keys. If there was a way to give negative stars I would. Kellie stay at Greystar. You deserve to work there and they deserve to employ you. read more

We lived there for a year and three months. The staff is really nice. We had to change apartment due to train horn sound at night towards Fifth Street. That's the only reason we don't give five stars. But in the second location we didn't have a problem whatsoever. Very pleased with the property and the management. It's located in a great neighborhood that puts you very close to downtown without having to be fully immersed in the noise or traffic of downtown. The amenities and grounds are kept clean and the building is up-to-date. I've lived in the building for about a year and a half, and have seen the Pressler go through a management change that appears to have gone smoothly. As for the price, it's right in line with market rates for comparable new buildings in Austin (this property was built in 2009). I don't know all of the neighbors, but the ones on my floor are cool grown-ups. UPDATE: It's 2018 and I'm still here! Have updated from four to five stars. read more

My husband and I have lived at the Pressler for over a year now and overall we've been happy with our experience. The location is great and the building is in good condition. Whenever we have had maintenance issues, the team has been quick to respond and even work late into the evening (with our permission, of course) to fix the problem. One of the best things about the building is the front office staff. Tim and his team have always been extremely helpful, friendly and willing to be flexible when we've needed it. I've really felt like they try to do whatever they can to make our lives easier. The only things I wish could be changed are: - the train horn! We purposely picked a unit on the interior of the building and can still hear it at all hours of the night. Luckily a large box fan manages to drown the noise out enough for me to sleep through it. - like another reviewer mentioned, I think the valet trash service should be optional. Our unit is not far from the trash room and I could easily walk down there and bring it myself. read more

I haven't witnessed either incident but I have received emails from management stating neither is okay. They provide a trash can for the valet trash. I imagine the train noise is an annoying inconvenience; however, Pressler management asked for support from all residents to sign the petition and attend the city hall meeting on constructing a safe pass so that the trains are no longer required to toot their own horn. Management is great! So is the wine deck (they call it a sunset deck), pool, towel service in the gym, covered garage parking, resident events, package delivery service, and free coffee bar. read more

Just moved in and found the staff (Alicia, Sterling) to be extremely helpful - complex is quiet and full of professionals. It works perfect for an in town place during the work week and saves me 2 hours of commute time each day! Love the gym, parking and location! Todd read more

[update 2018: If you need any demonstration on the below post see that it took the staff almost two years to respond back to this post w no concrete information, a great example of the service you can expect at Pressler.] DO NOT LIVE HERE. You will hear every noise your upstairs neighbors makes, every sound your side neighbor makes and likely the air conditioning vent above your bedroom. The location is great but the staff are very slow to fix issues and there are severe sound issues in the building. (Think bowling alley above your head constantly.) It's a real lemon of a place. I had to move out for two weeks because an air duct broke above my apartment and they could not figure out what had happened. During the issues the staff here was very unpleasant and tried to act like I was making it up. After acknowledging the issue, the staff moved slowly and did not figure out the cause until by accident. I decided to write this review right now since not more than a month later again, I am being woken up at 4:30 am to persistent hammering above my bedroom from another neighbor issue. Not to mention that they will likely never respond to your email even if you try to improve the situation. Save yourself the sleep, I can't wait to move out. read more

I have been waiting until I move out to post this review, but I honestly couldn't wait any longer. I have lived in this apartment complex for almost four years, through both managements. I didn't have any issues with the Gables management and was happy with Greystar when they first took over, but the service over the past year has gone downhill. This is an expensive apartment complex (think upwards of 1700 for a one bedroom), so you would expect to live somewhere worthy of that high budget. YES the location is fantastic, and there are no issues with the amenities within the apartment, but that's where it stops. The hallways - especially the concrete part outside - are constantly full of trash that people have spilled while making their way to the trash room. The trash room itself is full of old food, real trash on the floor - as opposed to the chute. Maintenance requests used to take one day -- my last one took over a week. I could live with all of the above if it weren't for the pool. IF YOU ARE MOVING INTO THIS BUILDING, DO NOT LIVE IN AN APARTMENT FACING THE POOL. YOU WILL REGRET IT. There is constantly, constantly late night pool noise. Management says that the hours end at "dusk", but I am awakened by the drunk screaming and idiocy outside anywhere from midnight-4am every single weekend. There is no monitoring of loud speakers and music, which echos throughout the pool area- and the windows do absolutely nothing. I'm not against people hanging out at the pool, but this place is turning into a glorified frat house, forcing people who literally spend thousands of dollars to live here to put up with the behavior of those who have no idea what it means to be a good neighbor. I have had to call Austin security on the pool, and I'd imagine my frustrations are echoed by others forced to deal with this. I've sent in notes to the apartment complex over the past few years, but have yet to see any changes. I know they penalize residents for leaving things outside their front doors - that same sort of penalty should exist when you break the pool rules and keep others, including many who work from home, from peace. The people who work here are very nice, but this is a serious issue and until it can be handled, I would recommend you find an apartment on the outside of the building - or at another complex. read more

We have lived here for three years. Recently ownership changed and Greystar Mgmt took over. Tim and his team have done an awesome job. The building is clean and very well managed. Tim always takes the time to listen to input and act accordingly. Location is awesome. We are moving out of the city. But we highly recommend this property. read more

We have lived at Pressler for 2 years. I have personally lived in apartments for 15 years and this is by far one of the best apartment communities in Austin. Perfect location but overall great staff. As a happy resident for over 2 years, I'm glad to see that most of the reviews have been positive. Sure Thomas the train makes a little noise but if you want to live on the Westside of downtown than you are likely hear him to some degree no matter what. Casing point, I have a friend that just purchased a condo on the 21st floor of Seaholm and you can still hear the train (Thomas). Positive's about Pressler, you can park on your floor and don't have to ride an elevator every day, unit finish outs are modern, gym is nice, pool is good size, location is fantastic, walk ability (nearby restaurant, bars, parks, etc.) are plentiful, neighbors are respectful, property events/socials are frequent and last but certainly not least, the staff's amazing. Negative about Pressler, it's located in Downtown Austin were everyone in the world seems to wants to live thus limiting the supply/availability. You don't have to be an economics major to figure out what happens next. You have to pay to play. With that said, if you are looking for a nice place to live please look at San Antonio, Houston or Dallas. If you must live in Austin than hands down the Pressler is the best price per pound apartments to live at downtown. I also hear 5th Street Commons (sister property down the street) is nice. read more
