Quality/Quantity - Princess Cruise, in my opinion, is a medium priced carrier. We have been lucky with some good values this year, 2023. We have logged a hundred days at sea just this year with just this brand. But you would already know that if you are following. Food is good, you can have even better food if you are willing to pay extra. Ports are good, for the most part. See all reviews for the best ports and the just okay ports. Entertainment is just okay; we feel their competitors do a better job. Even some of their parent and "sister" companies do a better job. Activities have been good with the exception of one ship. But it was not the ship or rather it was the culture of the "captain" probably cutting costs? This one ship gave out point tickets rather than actual prizes. We participate in most everything, otherwise we can get very bored. And the more sea days we have, the longer the cruise can feel. But you know you are getting older when you actually start enjoying sea days, LOL. Atmosphere - Depends where you travel to, see all my previous Yelps. We take exceptionally long cruises, so typically very few kids are on board. Service - Our experience is that longer cruises have better service and smaller ships have better service. Due to our status, we were invited to the Captain's Happy Hour (discounted drinks if you do not have the package) daily. And also, to the Captain's Party (with free drinks). Price - Again, a medium priced brand. It also depends on where you go, if you have been before ($$ shore excursions), etc. And most importantly, how much you drink and if you have the drink package or NOT. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1965 and for being the second largest cruise line (by revenue). 15 ships. 1974 - Princess was a subsidiary of P&O (Carnival currently owns them also). 1980's - Gained popularity because of the show "Love Boat," if you know the show, you are of the same generation as me, LOL. 2003 - Parent company is now Carnival.

The small unit has a queen or king size bed, a mini kitchen, no oven, microwave etc. It has a full size bathroom, and it accessible. I found this place while searching for bed and breakfast establishments. **Note to readers** Make sure to check for only registered lodgings, Hawaii is having issues with unregistered establishments. Checking for availability was a simple e-mail inquiry, though I could have called as well. Response was prompt and concise. Reserved room through e-mail and called to give them the credit card info. There are two units, both sectioned off from the house with private bathrooms, one with more space and a kitchen. We chose the smaller unit which was cheaper, only $75 a night for the end of January. The place is two blocks from the beach and there are two beach access points nearby. I was nervous, given the low price and my unfamiliarity with Kailua. All my fears were gone the minute I saw the place. A large bed, a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, microwave and toaster oven. Even a television with cable and room for our stuff. While not top of the line, the room was everything I expected. Barbara and her husband were gracious hosts. We had immediate answers to any questions and a nice patio with a pool at our disposal. Bottom line: if you want a nice, simple starting point for your daily excursions, check into Auntie Barbara's now. For the price and amenities offered it can't be beat. It missed four stars for only one reason: parking. The house is set back from the road down a narrow driveway flanked by a concrete wall and a fence. Parking next to the house and getting back out is a nightmare. Thankfully we were able to utilize street parking and walked down the driveway to our unit after the first day.

They were nice enough to respond to all of my concerns, via email. I was worried about Hurricanes because they had a scare or two in Hawaii about 2 weeks or so before my trip. I believe that I got a decent deal on the Hotel. They had a rate available that was not available, directly, through the Hotel at the time.
