The big unit is very spaces, with a parking stool. If you want to park in the parking stool you need to go done the drive way which is narrow, or you can park on the road, which is really safe! The small unit has a queen or king size bed, a mini kitchen, no oven, microwave etc. It has a full size bathroom, and it accessible. I would say the small unit is for two people, ike a couple or a small family with one child. I would 100% come again! You should definitely stay here!

I found this place while searching for bed and breakfast establishments. **Note to readers** Make sure to check for only registered lodgings, Hawaii is having issues with unregistered establishments. Checking for availability was a simple e-mail inquiry, though I could have called as well. Response was prompt and concise. Reserved room through e-mail and called to give them the credit card info. There are two units, both sectioned off from the house with private bathrooms, one with more space and a kitchen. We chose the smaller unit which was cheaper, only $75 a night for the end of January. The place is two blocks from the beach and there are two beach access points nearby. I was nervous, given the low price and my unfamiliarity with Kailua. All my fears were gone the minute I saw the place. A large bed, a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, microwave and toaster oven. Even a television with cable and room for our stuff. While not top of the line, the room was everything I expected. Barbara and her husband were gracious hosts. We had immediate answers to any questions and a nice patio with a pool at our disposal. Bottom line: if you want a nice, simple starting point for your daily excursions, check into Auntie Barbara's now. For the price and amenities offered it can't be beat. It missed four stars for only one reason: parking. The house is set back from the road down a narrow driveway flanked by a concrete wall and a fence. Parking next to the house and getting back out is a nightmare. Thankfully we were able to utilize street parking and walked down the driveway to our unit after the first day.

We rented in May 2025 at the Ilikai, which is a great location and has a lot of amenities but the units can be dated or upgraded, so the pricing depends upon what you want and the actual condition of the unit. In our case I felt we rented for a good value, however upon arrival and after the experience, that was not at all the case. It is very much a "churn & burn" rental agency, doing to least to maximize the revenue. Here are the issues we had: 1. Unsanitary Conditions: The unit was extremely dirty upon arrival, with visible (black) mold and filth in the showers, vents, and air conditioning unit--posing a clear health risk. 2. Air Conditioning Failure: The A/C did not function for 8 of the 10 days of our stay, during a period of high temperatures. This rendered the unit extremely uncomfortable and at times unbearable during the full heat of the day. 3. A/C Leak Incident: After the second repair attempt, A/C unit leaked water directly onto a bed where my child was sleeping. This is both dangerous and distressing. 4. Privacy Violation: A maintenance technician entered the unit without notice or consent while I was undressed, violating my personal privacy and safety. 5. Damaged Furnishings: Several pieces of furniture were broken or in very poor condition, creating both an aesthetic and safety issue. 6. Refused additional linens: I asked for a refresh of towels and was told I only receive one set of towels and linens on day 1, even though we rented for 10 days. This is truly unsanitary and unacceptable after that many days. I was advised to wash my own linens in the laundry area, at my own cost. I also asked for an additional blanket and was refused. This is in direct contrast to their website listing. 7. Withheld Personal Property: Upon vacating the unit, I discovered that personal belongings had been left and kept by the property management. Management acknowledged the belongings and agreed to return them, and I sent a pre-paid shipping label to expedite that action. Despite requests, these items have not been returned. Ultimately after several back & forth the agency said they "lost" it and they don't have to do any more than that. Wow.

ONLY SLEEPS 3 GUESTS) and upon arrival found a 'queen sofa bed' that might be as long as a queen bed's width but is about 4 feet wide, so not way to comfortably sleep 2 people on a bed smaller than a double bed:( Also NO SHEETS for the 'queen' sofa bed...I needed to email and phone them, then email again the next day before I got a response that bedding was coming but it came the next day. So we slept 2 nights with no sheets on a filthy tiny couch. In the email from HVP I was told this bed only slept one, however, when I asked where the fourth guest should sleep since they advertise this as a room that sleeps 4, they ignored me (so only a king bed and this 'queen' sofa for 1 is provided). When I asked for a cot to be brought in, they told me no extra furniture is allowed. So no solution or apology, a room that advertised sleeping for 4 and we input 4 guests into the booking site, and they ignored that this is FALSE ADVERTISING. Of interest they have also not provided me with an opportunity to review our stay which explains the reviews on their website! After offered no solution, I asked for some $ compensation and again was ignored. This is not how people should spend their vacation time so we moved on and enjoyed our week! Now back home and two of us still have sore backs ten days later from alternating who got to squish on the couch vs a saggy king mattress. Of note, this is by far the dirtiest room we have ever stayed in at the Ilikai and all other countries with marked up/chipped drywall and cabinets/fridge in need of cleaning the grime build up. HVP if you would advertise the sleeping accommodations honestly, we could have avoided this suite and booked a room that would have slept our family of 4 comfortably..... we love the ilikai and will return but will only rent from companies that are honest and care about guest experience. An honest company would revise the post and say it sleeps 3 and apologize/compensate for the misrepresentation. BTW the maid who brought the sheets confirmed what HVP rep said in the email, that this is a room for 3 and not 4, but their ad still says it is even 2 weeks after they told me it is only meant for 3 guests. To be clear I contacted HVP several times asking for bedding as well as making the problem of no proper sleeping for 4 guests as 2 couldn't fit in the sofa bed (called a queen which implies 2 people in listing when it states sleeps 4 guests) tge reply came that the sofa bed sleeps only 1 then I asked for a cot in order for this room to accommodate 4 guests and was told that us not allowed so I again replied asking what they suggest we do to accommodate 4 guests and that some $ should be returned if this place does not sleep 4. This was all ignored do please do not now say you would have jumped at the opportunity to help us. We had to stop emailing you and m as he the choice to enjoy our vacation as we already spent 2 nights before sheets showed up for the sofa bed and we were done wasting our precious family vacation time so please do not imply otherwise.

So, a horrifying night for Mom and babies, and the inconvenience of contractors in the home, then not able to secure the home for that last night with 7, 5 and (two) 2 year old boys sleeping in the home. "Place in Paradise" my foot. We paid top dollar to have a quality home and privacy. Out of principle, asked for a partial refund - was told no. I would never rent from this agency, nor would I ever stay in that home again. Don't waste your money.

Midway Vacations provides great descriptions and pictures of the units available. When we entered...our breaths were taken away!!! A little aloha was also extended with chocolate macadamia nut candies and water to welcome us. The room was clean and comfortable. Well detailed information was also provided. Communication before/during/after was excellent via email and text. The pictures will show what we experienced during our stay. Midway Vacations is a well tuned fine instrument.

The biggest issue was the lack of communication and transparency. Decisions were made without consulting us, and when we asked questions, the responses always seemed to prioritize Ola's internal agenda rather than what was best for our villa. We also started noticing a steady increase in fees. What used to be a simple structure with a few charges turned into a long list--transaction fees, credit card fees, even fees just to speak to someone live. It felt excessive and, at times, questionable. The breaking point was how they handled our belongings when we decided to leave. We requested our original linens back, but they had removed tags to make everything "community linens." When we finally received items, they didn't match, some were clearly older than what we originally had, and others still had tags from different units. It was disorganized and unacceptable. To make matters worse, we were promised replacements or compensation, but in the end, we were given poor-quality linens that didn't come close to what we had before. Communication during this process was frustrating--calls and concerns were often ignored or brushed off. There are good people working there, but overall, the leadership and management practices made it impossible for us to trust the company. The lack of respect and common courtesy for the people who employ them--and who they claim to serve--is appalling. Based on our experience, I would not return. I have the emails and receipts if they wanted to dispute my claims.

The tribute was above and beyond my expectations. It was held at Kualoa Ranch, with an amazing minister who was warm, friendly and funny. The beach was private and absolutely beautiful. We toured the ranch and Kym from Prestige had a wonderful lunch prepared for the 9 of us. The day couldn't have been any more perfect and peaceful for us. Thank you Kym at Prestige. We are already planning our next trip and willbe using Prestige again. They are iincredible!
