I stayed here for 10 nights in November 2013. Below is a list of pro's and con's:
Cons:
1. Paper thin walls
2. After hours check-in
3. Bathroom
Pros:
1. Centrally located close to high end shops
2. One block from the Spanish Steps
3. Two blocks to the Spagna metro
4. 5-10 min walk to Trevi Fountain
5. 15 min walk Palazzo Navona
6. Free breakfast (yogurt, toast, Nutella, pastries, spreadable cheese, OJ)
7. Great price
The building is probably hundreds of years old so it's hard to fault Prestige Guest House for points #1 and #3. Just note that you will be able to hear other folks while in your room. The bathroom is older too.
In all honesty, there is one con (#2). Due to unexpected flight delays, I arrived after 8 pm. This hotel does not have a receptionist staffed 24/7. Think condos located above shops. The building was locked and no one was answering the buzzer. A couple from England let my husband and I into the building. Fortunately, they were also guests and we were able to find our room key on the front desk. Emergency diverted, whew.
That said, it's a fabulous location for a great price, walking distance to all the sites.
Being more into history than shopping, next trip I'll find a place closer to Ancient Rome. read more
