DO NOT Take your pet here this place almost killed my dog. They allowed him to bark continuously for 12hrs and never notified my that he was having problems setting down. My dog barked so much that his throat closed up and he ended up on a ventilator for 5 days and developed blood clots due to being on vent. 15,000 in medical bills. This place will put your animals in danger. We boarded our dog for one night. Apparently all he did was bark all night long to the point his throat swole up and almost shut. We went to pick him up and noticed he was wheezing and could barely breathe. Scared we took him the vet where they had to put him under and put a breathing tube in the throat. He started get color back in his gums and looked like he was ok and turned for the worse. Now we are sitting in the emergency room of UF waiting to see if he's gonna make it. No one checked on him all night, no one called us to ask if this was normal barking all night long....nothing. They got there money. They gave him a bath that morning and didn't call us to say anything about his breathing. Someone had to of heard him barking for his throat to be that bad. He signed perfectly health and none in the ER unsure of his future. I should this crap place the bills for this entire day. This place is a danger to your animals. Lock um in a room and walk away kinda place. Knew we should have taken him to Camp Run a Mutt. read more

If I could leave negative reviews I would. First time we boarded our dogs at Pet Paradise, it took 3 emails to give the facility our pet vaccination records, and they still didn't have them. Received an email the morning of drop off that they had cancelled reservation because didn't have them. I Immediately called , had to leave a message, but super friendly girl that answered the phone said no problem if we brought them records. I had emails showing we sent them but whatever, they're on file now. Check in was a nightmare. They were checked in and an hour later,we're in the airport when I received a call asking what kind of dog we had. It's a dachshund and a Yorkie-nothing rare. They went through all of the information I had entered in their web site AND was on the vet records that I dropped off personally as well as on the clip board they gave me to fill out while I was there . I had requested grooming, again through the web site and a follow up email with pictures just in case. I received a message saying if I didn't call them, they would cancel grooming. Not a good time for me return the call, so I made appointment at Nature's Pet, worth an extra trip great job. One might wonder why we would book another appointment? The girl out front is so nice and great with the dogs. I thought since they now have all of our records, there should be no problem. Until this morning, on our way out of town. Stopped by to drop the dogs off. Only to find that our reservation had been cancelled. They said we didn't pay a deposit. Looked through all of my emails to see if I missed request but nothing-NADA. Only email other than advertisements is the confirming email. There are no messages and no phone calls from a number associated with pet paradise. What an amazing vacay for my four-legged babe!! Being an avid-traveler (well, prior to COVID ) it's important for me to know that my baby Babs is safe and secure until I return more home. We were on vacation at salt springs and went on a day trip to Ginnie springs, we found this place via a local vet which recommended them to me. I called for a last minute reservation for me two small dogs, the Lady on the phone was very professional and nice, she reserved the spot took my information over the phone and told me which documents I needed from my vet. My Vet sent the rabies documents to them and the check in was very easy and fast. The resort has in and outdoor areas, there is a pool for the dogs and the employees were super nice and friendly to my dogs. Well, for my Goldendoodle, this was more like pet purgatory than pet paradise. She does suffer from separation anxiety; however, I feel like they rushed her into a kennel and didn't try and work with her. They said she nipped at their receptionist which does not make sense because my husband dropped her off and saw her in the kennel watching the other dogs play. Pet paradise called my husband at 10:00 am and said she was not a good fit, please don't bring her back tomorrow. So I believe they gave up on her after only being there 2 hours. Unfortunately we both had anxiety because we were at a conference and could not get our fur baby until after 5:00, so she was in a kennel all day. 7:30 am until 5:30 pm without any outside play. This may be the place for your fur baby if they love strangers, kennels and many other dogs, unfortunately this was a stressful experience for me and my dog! read more

I was a regular user of the services but had not used the service in a while. I attempted to call on May 29th and 30th, but their phone system would not permit contact with the facility. I finally drove to the location with my dog, hoping to get him boarded. He's an intact dog, and upon check-out, I received a bill for $74 vs $54. That's a 37% up-charge b/c he required one-on-one playtime. I, for one, will not use the facility given the additional fees. The location is far from G'ville. It's easier to hire a local sitter or take him to a hotel with a $100 pet fee. Too bad b/c I like the overall service. Owners are getting too greedy with fees. read more

My one-year old Golden Retriever, Watson, took to this place like a pack of wolves on a three-legged cat. He bounded off his leash so fast when released into gen-pop that it ripped the fabric of time itself. He frolicked and bounced around, with so much happiness, that it alleviated a lot of my stress. I've been back a couple times and they never have disappointed me. Great view from any angle with the webcams, awesome indoor/outdoor apartments the pups can get through, and a better airlock system for transferring personnel than the USS Nimitz in 1975. read more

First time boarding three shelties here. Large place that has outdoor pool and play area for dogs. There is an inside air conditioned area and another that leads dogs outside. At night they close off pool area. Our dogs seemed happy and attended to. Employees were there to answer any questions and were the right fit for the job. Dog lovers. There is an area for cats too. You bring your own food, or they'll provide at additional cost. If fabric toys are brought in they must be new with tag, so there's no possibility of fleas, etc. Will be using them again. read more

This place is great! I love the ability to be able to watch my pet during her designated playtime. The staff was friendly and so sweet to my pup during the day and when we came to drop her off and pick her up. Our pet, Josie, had sharper nails on the day we arrived (we did not notice this but a staff member did) and they gave her a nail trim for free during the day. We were super thankful for that. We took Josie just for the doggy day care and the hours were really great for our schedule. The facility is super clean and the lobby does not smell like dog at all (thankfully). The report card each dog receives at the end of the day is awesome as well. We will be back! read more

This place is awesome! My pug Bagel stayed here while my cousin and I took a quick trip up to Nashville. Bagel stayed here for 3 nights. The office space is modern and SO clean, and you can see out into the back where they have a spacious yard, pool and kennel. They provided a report card for Bagel with the sweetest details and I opted for the photo updates as well. When I picked up Bagel, she was so excited to come home but had a great time. This is the only place we take our doggy - and we're definitely "those" type of owners. Our dog is our baby. It's far out there, but he always comes home clean, happy, and I hear great reports. I love the doggy cam which is fun to catch a glimpse of our boy. The staff always remembers him and great him like I imagine they would their own pet. read more

I've taken my dog Winston here on several occasions and it's always been a great experience. Once time they forgot to send his food home with him, but it was an accident and they even offered to have someone drop it off. Winston always has a great time and comes home tired from playing so much. On one instance, Winston had to go with a cone and they were sure to take extra good care of him and gave him his medicine. For the remainder of my time in Florida, I'll take Winston here for all my boarding needs and have recommended Pet Paradise to my friends. read more

This was our first time boarding with Pet Paradise however we have left our fur babies there for Daycare before. The staff on both occasions was Welcoming and friendly, we worked with Fallon and Alex which we absolutely adore, we also got the chance to see Malique in action with the pets at playtime and Wow! The front desk supervisor and manager both who refused to give their names over the phone, are hostile, rude and will talk over you and bully you. If I were in person and spoken to this way I would not feel safe and I have multiple combat deployments in Afghanistan. The original issue is that they changed rates after I had made a reservation for my dogs and never told us that our bill doubled since the estimate until 20min from close of business the day before our reservation and the refund policy requires cancellation 7 days in advance. They essentially strong armed $200 from me, they outright laughed when I asked about a veteran discount. Ultimately I couldn't get a word in edgewise and after 15 minutes of condescension was hung up on. I had asked for a corporate number and the manager laughed and said look it up, why would I have that. Anyplace willing to treat you this way is assuredly capable of treating your animals who cant tell their own stories way worse! Beware ***Update*** elevated from 1 star to 4 After speaking with Stephanie at the corporate office and Ashley at the Gainesville location I was assured that this was an atypical interaction and that the parties involved would have remedial training. Ashley listened to my concerns and quickly understood where the miscommunication had taken place and removed the excessive charges for us. I downloaded the app and learned that there are cameras everywhere that you can check anytime; we were even lucky enough to see our little boy during his one-on-one play time which assuaged any and all concerns I had about revenge mistreatment. I think this was genuinely a misunderstanding and will continue to use this establishment. read more

This was a great place - the facilities were clean,, the people nice and my dog had a ball. He never just goes with someone without looking back- when I dropped him off the second time he was pulling the lady to the back. For him that means he loved it. I guess a special treat of peanut butter and bacon Icecream was just topping on the day. He came back clean and tired. Signs of a great day of play. The facility is nice and people very kind to the dogs. Thus not 1 star. My dog got kennel cough there last week and was already coughing when I picked her up. They have a vet on site but did not call to see if I wanted my dog to be seen. Instead I get a silly report card telling me what fun she had. I would rather they pay attention to the dog's health. I have been a loyal customer for years. The previous management granted me a 20% discount which the new management will not honor. That says a bit about their integrity. My dog has been boarded there 8 of the last 10 weeks. they struggle with communication and details. I have numerous times asked for a bath, or a nail clipping and the intake person smiles and says sure but never enters it in to the computer. and forget about putting those requests in the internet reservation, they dont look at it. Not once have they done what was checked off. I am looking to change facilities after the last 2 debacles with them. The Kennel cough and the dog smelling like she was soaked in urine. I am very annoyed with Pet Paradise as a whole. We are inbetween moving houses, which is always chaotic and stressful. Our sweet pup wasn't taking the chaos well so we decided to take him to day camp at Pet Paradise in Tampa on 6/19 so we could move in. We walked inside, showed our records, signed the form, and our dog was on his way. No problems. We came back to Gainesville to clean up the home and decided to take him to Pet Paradise here. This Pet Paradise is FARRRRRRR into Newberry- past Jonesville and past Town of Tioga. It's FAR FAR FAR. When we got there the receptionist was outside. There was only one but there were 2-3 dogs waiting to get checked in. When it was finally our turn I was told our shot records weren't up to date... Which is weird bc we take our dog to get groomed every 6weeks with no problem and we JUST took him to another Pet Paradise with no problems just SIX DAYS ago? Okay, no problem, since your website says there's an on-site veterinarian, can we squeeze him in? The receptionist then said, "well, I don't actually know if she's in today.." Which again, is weird because your website doesn't say she's only there on certain days. She wasn't in today, of course... We left and took our 35 minute drive home. read more

I have been taking Sila to play here since she was 10 months old and she will be turning 7 next month! They have a very safe and secure place for her to play where I know she is happy and well taken care of. They have very long dog runs that are half indoor and half outdoor and they have a newly renovated outdoor area with lots of room for the dogs to run and play. They also have a very nice bone shaped swimming pool . The staff are amazing and attentive and they know all of Sila's likes and dislikes. She gets treated like a queen from the moment she enters the building. I never worry about her when she is here as they take such good care of her. I wish I could stay here and play!! read more

I used to board my dog, Milo, at the vet he goes to, until the vet called me and said he was "displaying aggressive tendencies." Now... Milo is a 2 year old, 25 lb pug. Essentially still a puppy. The vet wanted to put him on anxiety meds every time he would be boarded in the future, and the thought of my dog being doped up just to be boarded just didn't sit right with me. After a little bit of searching, I found Pet Paradise - and haven't looked back since! I've boarded Milo there a few times by this point, and they have NEVER once said anything about Milo being aggressive. I even talked to the resort manager about his situation, and she assured me that he doesn't get aggressive when he's there with them. And it's because he's not cooped up in a kennel all day! Every time I pick him up from boarding and daycare, he's EXHAUSTED - passes out within 5 mins of getting in the car. They really care about him, and the other animals there, and it shows. They even send report cards sometimes, telling you how your furry friend did while boarded! Such a nice touch. I cannot recommend this place enough - your dog or cat will thank you! read more

When we called to book our cat to be boarded we reached a voicemail advising us to book online to make the reservation so we did. After making the reservation, the site thanked us for the booking and advised us to print off a form and bring it in when we dropped off our pet. Because we have had issues with Pet Paradise before and our trip is coming up in a few days, we decided to call to today out of an abundance of caution just to confirm that everything had gone through. I was told that the local pet resort did not have us booked, and that they don't handle their own reservations. Not only that, they were fully booked for the times we had requested. She said that normally their reservation department will call you when they are not available and apologized that we hadn't heard from them. Nothing but problems with this group. My Golden Retriever loves Pet Paradise. He loves the play time with the other big dogs. He's not much of a swimmer but he's been known to get in at Pet Paradise! Booked daycare for my dog the day before drop off. I was told that I could drop my dog off between 7 and 7:30 AM and he would get a vaccine that was required after that. Upon dropping my dog off the rude front desk supervisor told me all the reasons why they were not supposed to take my dog today however they took the dog. I didn't ask or beg them to take my dog, they offered! I attempted to offer a suggestion to make sure the schedulers booking appointments know the protocols. The front desk supervisor continued for five minutes to tell me over and over and over why she shouldn't take my dog today. She also inserted a random comment about her new staff which was completely irrelevant. I asked her to please stop talking to me while the manager was going to get my dog and she just kept going. She was Rude, entitled disrespectful- all after I was told it was OK. You might get attacked when THEY make a mistake so watch out. WOW! read more

My cat, Andy, enjoyed his most recent stay at Pet Paradise. The staff was friendly and ran through the details of his daily food at drop off. The staff knew my cat from previous visits. Upon pick up the staff member commented on his friendly personality and offered a detailed bill. The staff member offered details of the discount program. I thought that my dog and cat's accounts were connected to ensure the teacher discount for both animals. This was not the case so the teacher discount information was added to my cat's account. I was happy with this visit overall. My cat had one meal that I received back. Unsure if he didn't want it or was not offered it. But I didn't ask for the detailed report to find out. My dogs LOVE Pet paradise Newberry/Gainesville! They have an amazing facility that is clean and plenty of room for my dogs to run around and play. They have a pool which my dogs love as well. They are always so excited when I drop them off and are always very happy when I picked them up. The staff is amazing and I always get a personalized report of who my dogs new friends are and how they did during their stay. There are plenty of other places I could take my dogs to that are much closer but traveling the extra distance is so worry it. Thanks for being awesome Pet Paradise!! read more
