I was really disappointed in Prestige studio this year. This was my third time there for senior portraits & the first two times went well. This last visit, we waited almost 45 mins to get pictures taken and when we went to view the pictures another day we waited 30 minutes and this was with an appointment each time. At the appointment this afternoon we were sent to this back room and told to have a seat, during our wait about 6 different employees walked by us and said nothing, no explanation at all as to why we were waiting so long. They had club music blaring overhead and it was not enjoyable sitting there waiting. I was very disappointed in their service. read more

Horrible customer service, as in rude, unfriendly workers who really don't give a shit because every senior has to take their portrait at their studio anyway, so why do they care about respecting customers and making their visit enjoyable? Also, waiting can also be a bit annoying if all of the 20+ chairs are filled up and you have to stand and wait for half an hour. The pricing is completely ridiculous! The school district made arrangements with this company to do senior portraits - fine, but an 8x10 is $74! Seriously?? An 8x10 of my sophomore (via another company) is $18. That is over 311% more for the EXACT same product, different kid... outrageous! read more

The actual experience wasn't bad at all. But after reading through these reviews and putting two and two together, I'm realizing that is probably because I paid the higher sitting fee. I noticed there were people waiting there for over an hour and they got us right in. The 1 star which I would make 0 if I could is for the prices. Are you kidding me??!!!!!! Me and my friend went at the same time and she started before me, when I went to take my pictures with my separate photographer two minutes later, he took my pictures very quickly and I was finished ten minutes before my friend. When I finally saw them (he didn't let me see them while we took them) they all turned out horrible and none of them were good. 10/10 would never go here again. read more

We waited for one hour and 15 min for Daugther do her senior pics and we left. They really don't care because it is only them. I will need to schedulle again. I took my day off , so she could have make up done and hair done. I lost my money, because after the waiting her hair was bad and make up was melted. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! People here are rude and do not care if you have a complaint. They bump people ahead of you so that you end up sitting here for over an hour and a half while people who were here for a half hour get their photos done. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I'm glad I only have one child Cuz if I had to do this again I would find someone else to do his photos. Not to mention their photo packages and Ala carte menu are SUPER expensive. Dear Prestige Portraits, (Open Public Letter) For the 2nd year now, you have financially raped me on getting one Senior portrait of my child. You see, I happen to have sons who don't need head shots and poses to glorify their senior year. They just want to be included in the yearbook and me (mom ) wants a photo memory of it. After your 20$ sitting fee, your 2x level up-selling, once at your reception desk who " mistakenly didn't identify the "yearbook standard shot" and asked if we wanted the deluxe. No , we just wanted one pic..then in the session, being asked what sports he plays, and does he want to take a pic with a football.. ( Tux+ Football= lamesause) Seriously, now its time to order and for one 8x10 is $74.00. $94.00 for 1 8x10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now thats 2 kids at 94$ for 1 8x10 photo. Thats $188.00 for 2 photos. You should be ashamed of yourselves and price gouging. Here is the same 8x11 shot plus a class photo I purchased for 25$ through Lifetouch for my preschooler. . WORST PLACE EVER. Very bad customer service. The lady on the phone hung up on me while I was speaking to her and when I had left a message no one ever got back to me. Also, I heard it was very expensive just for a few photos. Totally not worth it. They are just trying to cash in on people who are seniors. The best thing I can say about Prestige is, I am so glad that we are done dealing with Prestige and Lifetouch! This was the third year that we had senior pictures done at this Prestige. And the worst year. Our son is not smiling in any picture. His hair was windblown, but he didn't know it. My husband was not allowed to go back with him to ensure the quality of the photos. When I told them all of this, I got apologies. Nothing else. Just apologies. We decided that the senior pictures should be landscaped, rather then portrait, to make them stand out from the other pictures that we have. Only one picture was landscaped, so we didn't we have a choice of photographs. Thankfully he wasn't actually frowning in that one. Senior pictures are probably the some of the most important pictures that parents will ever buy, they shouldn't suck!!! I was going to email Prestige about these issues, but the only way to contact them is to call the local office. Have the yearbook picture taken at Prestige, just because you have to, but hire someone who actually cares to take the pictures you are going to buy. read more

Absolutely terrible. They wouldn't pick up the phone, finally received a call back after months, and made an appointment. Extremely unprofessional and everyone didn't seem to know what they were doing or what they were supposed to be doing. After checking in, we picked poses out of a book for senior pictures, and the photographer taking our pictures, was extremely unprofessional and didn't even seem to have worked there before. He didn't know how to work the camera, nor the lights. He didn't know what poses to do, and didn't know what was going on. He definitely was training and didn't have anyone to show him or guide him on what was going on. The pictures weren't even half decent. It was extremely uncomfortable and was not a good experience for senior pictures. After we were moved into a different studio area with a different photographer, it was better, but still not worth it what so ever. read more

I guess I should have reviewed yelp... so my daughter's school goes through this business for yearbook pictures. I figured I might as well buy her graduation pictures and announcements through them as well. I showed for the follow up appointment and was quickly shown to a waiting room. There I waited about 1 hour before a pricing agent assisted me with picking out the priducts. After a total of about 2 1/2 hours and choosing a pricey package of mostly pictures that will reside in my closet, wallets, as well as announcements I paid the price for my visit $377.80. Now with announcements I provided the look, what pictures, wording all at that time. 2 weeks later I get a call that the announcement information was lost. You'd figure paying that much for a service would get you Prestige service..... wrong.... I had to try and remember everything for the announcements so I can fix their mistake. I got an "I'm sorry" from Dwight the supposed Supervisor. Itll be another 2-3 weeks before I get the original picture package I ordered and another 5-6 weeks before the grad announcements. Sr Pictures taken and proofs available online, but we need a 6 digit code to access the pictures...and they provided us with a 9 digit & 5 digit code at our sitting (neither work on the website). There is NO contact info provided on their receipt, 20 minutes later we find a contact, try to wrangle information from their website & still have nothing. This is the least organized (joke) of a business I have ever dealt with - and then to top it off they wanted over $500 for pictures. They do not respond to emails, rarely are helpful when you call, have a website which is poorly designed and void of content. Once I finally got an appointment to see my son's photos, they started with a nice video (I guess to look professional) and then it went downhill. They could not explain their own products, did not have the ability to preview anything and to top it off did not even have an actual order form. After an hour and a half of dealing with basically no help, we placed our order and were then told (the next day) that we were over one point and had to cancel something. This place really needs to find new management, enter the year 2018 in technology and start acting like an actual senior portrait business. Spent extra money so I could take senior pictures with my own clothes, and not only did the photographer NOT POSE ME WELL AT ALL (I looked at the proofs online) but they also want extra money for me to buy them? They're horrible. The photographer didn't even bother to tell me I had hair in my face where I couldn't see it. I'm an amateur photographer and I personally feel I could take better photos. Service was fine, staff was pleasant, although we did have to wait a bit after our appointment time to be taken into a studio. Everything went well. This review is meant to be constructive criticism about their website. There were 27 photos taken of my son. You have no ability to organize these photos so that you only see the ones you're interested in, because as we all know, there are always those pics that you immediately rule out. So out of 27 we liked 5 poses, but you can't just isolate the ones you like. I didn't see any way to order the CD online without ordering a very expensive package. Very expensive. Did I say very expensive? Yikes! We're out the sitting fee, maybe I'll take him somewhere else. read more

The asian girl that took my sister's photos was nice. The lady with the blonde hair was a bitch. I was on my phone looking through Instagram, and the blonde lady thought I was taking pictures, which I wasn't, and she put her hand in front of my phone and told me to stop taking pictures. And when I told her that I wasn't even taking pictures, she didn't even apologize for being so rude. Very, very, VERY rude. She can suck it. read more

Why make an appointment if they are going to make you wait over an hour after your appointment time to be seen? The photographers were a mix of great to just okay. For the price you think you were getting a runway/high fashion photographer. When I asked about prices they acted stupid telling me they did not know, I mean really? Only reason I went was so my son would be in the yearbook and we had no choice. Paid for their "gold package" on sale for $40 (SCAM). You get nothing for it, unless you want to pay $500 for some mediocre pictures that WalMart or JCPennys could do for under $100. Now they spam my email all the time with "special off 10%" and I am getting fed up. Recently they emailed me stating "act now", your senior is going to be left out of yearbook since you have not chosen your yearbook picture (we picked it 2 months ago). When I called the lady at the studio she just lol, oh thats corporate, they sent that email to everyone... sales scam to get you to call in... irritating. My advice, take the yearbook picture and book another session and buy pictures somewhere else. Ironic that many years ago the same company screwed me over when they tried to "touch up" my senior portraits and ruined them (I looked like a raccoon). Ok I want to start out that they showed me the pictures right after we took them and they really do look great! that is the ONLY reason why I am even giving them 3 stars. if I was grading on customer service it would be NO STARS. BUT I will say that the wait there was THREE HOURS for my son's session to be complete!! THREE HOURS!!! they say it will be 2 hours, but that was not the case. and the only reason why I feel it was 3 today was because I finally got fed up and complained so I think they bumped us up ahead. They did his cap and gown & tux poses, then asked us to wait while they got our backgrounds ready for the free dress outfit. that was an hour later and I finally asked what was the hold up. they said someone was finishing up their cap & gown and we would be next. well then we waiting again forever. finally I went up again to ask they said oh we had an issue with one of the lights. ok great. what my complaint is, why do you not complete the entire shoot in one sitting? why do you break up the session and then take someone else's picture? that to me makes no sense. I was pleased with how the pictures came out, but the entire way they handle things in there is NOT good business. everyone was in there upset looking because everyone else was going through same thing as we were. So just prepare to be there for 3 hours or MORE if you have more than cap/gown & tux/yearbook photo. bring a book, movie, pillow, blanket, food, drinks cause you are going to be there so long and they will keep telling you that your turn is almost here but that is just something to tell you to try and calm you down but your turn doesn't come like they say. also, they have a really nice waiting room in the back with nice couch, nice chairs and more living room setting so I suggest you go back there and get comfy because you will be there all day!!! read more

My son's senior pictures were taken here. An 8X10 was $75!! I bought the CD to try to make this more cost efficient. It was almost $300 the samples they sent me were great, his skin was even colored and I was very happy with the samples they sent and the ones available online to see. When I got the CD the pictures made him have very uneven skin and very pale looking. If they gave me samples that looked like what they sold me I would have paid more for retouching. I called for a new CD and after an hr on hold I talked to a lady that seemed to think I was lying and trying to scam them. (I can show you side my sides of the differences) after about a month I got the second cd with the same issues. I missed being able to give them out at Thanksgiving and in time for Christmas cards. I'm paying a different studio to try to retouch and even out his skin and the studio told me that the size of the pictures on the cd will make it hard for an 8X10 or larger to look sharp. I'm definitely not happy and will probably pay this new studio for a small photo shoot. They ruined this whole experience for me and now I have to try to talk my teenage son to get in another fake tuxedo and take some more pictures. That'll be fun. read more

We made an appointment for 1:10...and sat here for over an hour before we eventually we realized that they had ridiculously over booked everyone in the place. Now we are being told it will be a few hours bwfore we can be seen??? What the F**k?! Some people had been waiting for over 2 hours with no explanation...then we were told if we wanting to reschedule we could but unless you get the first appointment of the day it will be like this everytime. This is a terrible way to run a business and it's sad that this is the only place I can go for my child to have her senior picture in the yearbook. I have a job and a life and I made it to my appointment on time. This place has no respect for its customers or our time. If you can go somewhere else...DO IT! If I didn't have to be here for senior portraits I would be gone in a heartbeat. read more

They deserve 0 stars why Elk Grove Unified School District allows them to advertise is beyond me. Myself a teacher for the district will be contacting to complain about the district advertising such a horrible establishment and asking they no longer do so. DO NOT TAKE PICTURES HERE! I took my senior student here assuming they were a reputable business because they were advertised through the school district. My daughter took portraits in July. On July 30 I went into prestige and ordered the largest package they had available. I spent about $600 and was told I would receive the portraits in about 2-3 weeks in the mail. On 9/4 after receiving absolutely nothing in the mail I called Prestige back and was told the portraits had already been sent and where "in the mail". It is now 9/24 and we have NEVER received any portraits or any type of correspondence from them despite my numerous calls. You would be better off at one hour photo or any other portrait studio! I wish I would have read the bad reviews Prestige already has. Don't make the same mistake I did!! read more

The photographer I had was very helpful and i loved her, i gave a four star because there were in between waitings.. I took my personal pictures and then had to wait another 10-15 mins to take cap and gown rather than taking both at the same time. read more

Horrible customer service. I tried for a week to get someone to answer the phone and it would always go to voicemail. I would have happily left a voicemail except the mailbox was full. I finally gave up and called the Citrus Heights location, surprise, no one answered. However I was able to leave a voicemail. I did, and asked for someone to call me back. Their outgoing message said my call would be returned in 1 business day. Well it has been 3 business days and still nothing. If it wasn't the only option my senior had for their yearbook picture, I wouldn't even waste my time canceling my appointment. The truth is, they know us parents do not have another choice for our seniors and could care less. I may be forced to pay for his yearbook picture, but I refuse to have his other senior pictures taken by them. read more

This review is for the customer service after the fact. I received my daughter's pictures and one set was beautiful. The 2nd set looked like it was edited by a child. I can't believe they actually printed out the numerous pictures of that one from our package. I emailed them immediately and was told they would get back to me.I've since emailed 2 more times stating I need that one set re-done and they said my issue has been sent to the appropriate people and they will get back to me. No way in hell i'm handing those out. I really hope they get back to me by email because I'm not sure what kind of mood I will be in if I have to physically go in there. read more

Oh if I had only known. My son had his senior pictures here 3 years ago and the service was excellent! Fast forward to today for my daughters senior portraits, and what a major disappointment. We arrived to our 3 o'clock appointment checked in about 15 minutes later (had to wait for others), then were told to sit and wait. Someone came out and gave us the book to look at the different studio/backdrop/prop options-then totally ignored us for another 1:30-finally she gets her first set taken. Then another 30 minute wait and a tour of the facility (they kept moving us around without any photos being taken), and she is finally getting the cap/gown photos. Then we moved outside for the last shots. Let me say the our photographers were nice, but the general service of this place is nuts, we were the last people out the door!!! I am praying these photos turn out wonderful, or I will have to locate another studio to get better pictures taken at. The school should not lock in a contract with them for all the senior pictures and then maybe they would try a little harder with their customer service. Also put all of the studio/back drop/props online so people can choose before they even get there and plan outfits accordingly. Thank goodness I do not have more children that I have to go back here again. It is 1 star because the photographers were nice. read more

Senior picture day at my daughter school was horrible. Her appointment was for 2:15pm she did not get called for first set of pictures until 4:15pm after that she had to wait another 2hrs for second set of pictures. I spent a lot of money for hair and makeup for her photos, being that these are her senior photo's and she's my only daughter. Her school is in Tracy CA it was at least 80 degrees. By time she was called her hair started to frizz, and her makeup began to run. I called and filed a complaint, received a call two days later, from a pleasant lady name Carol, offering for my daughter to come 1 hr and a half away from our home to take more pictures. I declined because I do not have another $110 for hair and makeup or gas money to drive 1 and a half hours and possible run into the same poor time management issue again. As I informed the lady I will not pay for those pictures and will just have to take her somewhere else, that actually values a persons time. read more

This is my second experience with this studio. Before launching into this review I would like to make it clear that all of the employees were polite and helpful; my complaints have little to do with their demeanor. Our appointment was at 10:10, but we were not called in for the actual photographs until over an hour later. Meanwhile, multiple parents/kids arrived well after us and were called in very shortly. I finally pointed this out to a gentleman at the front desk, who walked away briefly and said that we would be called soon. I strongly suspect that he just walked away for a while to humor me.I got the distinct feeling that those students who chose the expensive packages were given priority over my daughter. I saw multiple outfits, an American flag on a pole, and even a really large dog go past me as props. Little old us, who only wanted the drape/cap & gown shots were passed over many times. Which seems ironic considering the time spent with the photographer was so brief for us. The experience 4 years ago with my older daughter was much the same, and I was out $245 at the end of it for a handful of pictures. EGUSD, please consider an alternative studio. read more

Came into Prestige Portraits for a senior picture. They gave us access codes to confirm a proof for the yearbook and it could not be more of a hassle. I have tried various combinations of access codes and session id possibilities - periods instead of dashes, capital letters instead of lowercase, 0's instead of o's. Still I receive the same message every time: An error has occurred. Funny thing is that multiple of my friends have had the same obstacles to overcome just to confirm an overpriced proof for a yearbook. Literally made a Yelp just to rate this business. I was forced into having to deal with these guys due to my school's policy of Prestige Portraits or nothing. Don't make the same mistake. If you have the option, choose a better and cheaper studio. read more

I wish there was a negative star rating scale. I'm so disappointed that this company is promoted in the local schools. They took my son's senior portraits and did not show him the results. We did not see the pictures until they were mailed to us 3 weeks later. Everyone has the strip on his bow tie showing under his collar. We called and called for a week but never got an answer,after calling the parent company they told us it's too late to change the yearbook pose but we could retake more so we could order them. All they care about is a profit. Someone named Carol finally called me from an unknown, blocked number at 10 am and left a message, but when I called back it was to the studio and the same old recording saying they're available 2 til 8 pm. My niece took great pictures and charged me a tenth of this company, BUT she can't publish in the yearbook because this company has the rights. So sad that they have blinded the school district. Some day this will be revealed, unfortunately it's too late for my son. Children work hard to graduate only to have their yearbook picture taken by a company who is for profit only. We are forced to send this picture to family and friends far off. A once in a lifetime event ruined. No apology, just retake and order??? read more

Prestige Portraits is horrible. Where should I begin...first I was harassed with emails, calls and regular mail to come in and get my child's senior portraits taken. When I finally call to set up an appt I am told they are booked for 2 weeks and to call back then. Ummm, does your calendar stop after 2 weeks? Finally get an appointment only to go and be herded around like cattle. The place is run by teenagers which explains a lot about the customer service. I called to check on my proofs only to be told they had shipped and it takes 3 weeks from the time they ship til the time I receive them and they have no tracking, called again and was told to check my mail box, called again and said I could come down and view them. This is ridiculous and poor customer service!!!! Then there is always the pricing...Hope these pictures are hand painted on a sheet of gold paper because I can see no reason why they are so over priced! read more

I took my daughter in for her senior portraits and it was required that we schedule an appointment prior to going in, which we did. I would have to say," the experience was "AWFUL"!!! The place was WAY OVER BOOKED for the time and price that I had paid for my daughter session. It was so crowed that there were nowhere to sit or stand and to top it off I was one to help the photographer with some of the equipments during my daughters session. They have staff walking up and down the hall that wasn't doing any thing but than they have me hold stuff during my daughter session, which I though was very unprofessional. The photo didn't come out as great as thought it would and that reason is we we're being rush form one station to the next. I could take better quality photos with my phone. I understand that they take photos for a lot of school during this time of year but I wish they would of plan or schedule it better for everyone that was willing to pay for their package. I would never recommend than to any of my friends or family. read more
