After waiting 3 weeks to hear back from M.D. I called and was told that Midtown Derm "has not accepted VA patients for some time now". The following month my wife called for an appointment for herself, was accepted as new patient and scheduled appointment to be seen 3 months from that day. Shortly after I was told that the VA patients were not accepted, my skin condition worsened and I called M.D. to schedule an appointment as a new patient outside of the VA paying consultation fee out-pocket. I was told that Midtown Derm was not accepting new patients. So, I visited M.D. in person for an explanation for accepting my wife but not accepting me days later as new patients and just as it appears in many other reviews, the staff was extremely condescending, arrogant and felt offended that I had the nerve to go there to complain. A short time later my wife's appointment was cancelled via e-mail stating that " We feel that another Dermatology provider may be better suited to meet your needs and expectations" my wife replied asking what were the needs & expectations that could not be met before she was even seen for the 1st time. A 2nd e-mail arrived minutes later stating, "After a thorough review of your patient history, you cancelled an appointment on three separate occasions", which is false as there was no reason to cancel even once. We wrote a letter to Beth Shultz on April 27th, 2026, to once again ask what were the needs & expectation that M.D could not meet before being seen and also asked for documentation on the 3 cancellations quoted. Beth failed to respond. On May 20th, 2026, I called to speak with Beth Shultz and was told bluntly by Dawn Bryant that Beth did not want to talk to me. I said that it would no longer be necessary to squeak with Beth as it was now crystal clear that Beth's petulance and arrogance would not allow her to act in the best interest of her practice and respond to a sensitive and legal issue involving potential discriminatory practices as well as an apparently incompetent staff. Fortunately, there are many competent, respectful, honest and ethical dermatologists in Raleigh to choose from, so spare yourself the aggravation.

She takes no accountability, nor do her workers. She claims so, but that's not what was portrayed. She refuses to believe that her employees can make mistakes just to protect the company's image, absolutely pathetic, considering they did lie, make mistakes and some are incompetent. They all lied by insisting certain information was went over and discussed during the consult, such as risks, which was not. Grace definitely did not go over risks. Rachel did when I asked but also persisted it was covered by Grace previously and Desiree, whom I have never seen regarding fillers. They made the mistake of noting inaccurately in their system that I'v seen Desiree twice about fillers when I haven't. It was Grace instead, and only once. Grace unfortunately isn't as experienced as she should be. My consult with her was not informative. She barely knew how to answer my questions properly, hesitated and did not even bother to show me any sample photos at all considering this is a big procedure. I'm sure this wouldn't be the first complaint against her expertise, and I know they all know it, including the manager, Laura. Never also seen a place that didn't have photos to offer to go by. This led me to ask many questions during the day of my procedure. Rachel in a way was rushing to get started so my numbing creme wouldn't ware off, which ended up waring off 6 hours later... So... I can conclude that there was plenty of time to ask as many questions needed. This is where I explained that I hadn't had these questions discussed previously and therefore is crucial to have them answered. Rachel argues and insists that I'v had a consult twice with Desiree based on the "notes" on the computer which were inaccurate. I did not have any consults with Desiree regarding fillers, only laser hair removal over more than a year ago. I blame the person in charge for all of this, whether the workers are dishonest and/or incompetent, full accountability should be taken by Laura the manager. Yet, no accountability was taken. Whether you're also a loyal client or not, which I certainly have been, guess that definitely doesn't fall in with them. I'v been with Rita for probably a little over a year for laser and had planned 3 other future procedures. Like I said, it does not fall in with them. I don't recommend this place.
