The food is actually fresh and there were a lot of employees working there, for some reason. 2014 YELP 365 CHALLENGE - 239/365 Pret A Manger IS AWESOMEEEE! My dad and I were staying at a hotel down the street, and were looking for a cheap, easy place to go to for breakfast during our 5-day stay in London. There were a ton of bakeries and cafes along Piccadilly Circus, but we decided to go to Pret A Manger since it looked pretty good. This was one of the best discoveries we found whilst in London! SO good that we went back EVERY single morning for breakfast while we were there! My dad and I had never heard of Pret A Manger before. It's pretty similar to Starbucks, except the selection of food is WAY BETTER! They had coolers and shelves all along one entire wall with different bottled juices, waters, beverages, pastries, sandwiches, soups, etc. Perfect for anybody who is on the go and wants a fresh, portable meal! We noticed a LOT of people stopped by Pret on their way to work, as many people were in business attire and looked like they wanted to get in and out as soon as possible. The Pret employees cater to their customers by working FAST! They all look like busy little worker ants trying to get everything done as quickly as possible which was great. The first time I went I ordered the pina colada smoothie which was unfortunately a major bust. Not good at all...blech. However, I started ordering the hot chocolate which was deeelicious. Better than the hot chocolate normally served at coffee shops in the US. My biggest and best discovery from Pret A Manager was their CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS! They are SO. GOOD. I normally don't like croissants in general, but there was something that I just LOVED about Pret's! I also got my dad hooked on them and he started ordering them everyday too! :P My dad's favorite item from Pret A Manger was their ham, cheese and tomato pastry. They were made fresh every morning and he LOVED them. This location was the first Pret A Manger we ever saw while in London, but we soon realized that it is a VERY popular chain in England, and saw them on almost every street corner. Even more popular than Starbucks which is saying something! If Pret existed in the US, my dad and I would probably be regulars. Amazing coffee shop with really good food! Although much copied, I still think Pret a Manger are leaders in what they do: a highly consistent chain of sandwich shops, selling generously-filled sandwiches with high quality, fresh and natural ingredients. (All sandwiches are made on the premises, fresh each day). There are good choices for vegetarians (I especially like their vegetable crisps, made from root vegetables others than spuds). They're a bit pricier than some other chains, but worth it in my view. This branch in Piccadilly is useful to know as it's not too rushed at lunchtimes, and is open seven days a week. read more

Most racist Pret cafe store with bad service I have ever experienced. I could not see the menu and just was tried to use my phone camera to zoom in the menu on what to order for families. The cash register server, a young guy, told me to not take pictures with extremely bad attitude. I should have taken his picture to post here. Amazing place. There is one in every street corner haha, so you won´t have trouble finding it. I love everyone of them. The food is awesome. The workers are kind and they give you your food really quickly. It the best place to go when you want something yummy and quick! The place itself is really pretty and every one seems happy at pret! I rarely like big chains cafe but this one got me. I love their yogurts, vegan coconut yogurt, acai bowl and their melted dried tomato and mozzarella pastry. Coffee shop is fairly good too. I'm not sure which Pret I went into because they are literally in every street corner in London (I think it was this location, though not 100% sure), but it doesn't matter. I love every Pret. I had a wonderful bean soup and brownie as a quick lunch. No mess, no fuss. Cheap by London standards. This place is like a Starbucks back home, except better (and specializing in sandwiches rather than coffee). They have cute messages in their napkins and products (very much like Chipotle). Pret also has a location in Heathrow. Bought myself a carrot cake for my almost nine hour flight home. I'm waiting for them to come to Miami. read more

Service in this Pret has often been a bit too slow for my liking and I was a bit outraged to discover they had hiked up the prices of the flavoured water drinks from 90p to £1.25. Pret, has some of the best sandwiches out of all the chain sandwich shops. This is because they use decent and high quality food in their sandwiches and are made on premises, meaning they are fresh. They also do good soup and coffee to go with your sandwich. Though Pret can be a bit of the dear side in terms of pricing, it is pretty much worth it, as you know you are getting quality. read more

I recently stayed in Mayfair and this was my closest Pret, easy walking distance to Green Park and the hotel that I was staying in. I love soups and these ones don't seem fresh. They are too indian or asian. I would love a normal pumpkin soup, or something light. Tomato one seems like a sauce...hard to digest. Doesn't seem freshly made. Is it canned? What's the point? People are very rude. Customers don't respect other people's individual tables and seem to run and compete no matter what. It's not the idea for this place. Some salespeople are rude and careless. I wish they offered fresh fruit juices instead of coffee that doesn't benefit cranky people. They have bottled juices that are not freshly made. No vegan options. They say veggies, which can be misleading. read more

This was a great discovery in London this time. They have locations everywhere and the food is fresh, wholesome and delicious. Every sandwich and salad was luscious as were their fresh juices and smoothies. I was able to take my kid in and know that we could get her something healthy and filling. Green Park,Baker Street, Piccadilly, near the Tower of London, we even had our last meal at their terminal three location in Heathrow. Seating was a challenge at times as they have few tables in most locations. Phone charging outlets would be a great add on. read more

I love Pret! It's everywhere in London I wish we had some in California. I did see some when I visited Canada. But it's so cute and convenient and their food is always fresh. I had a seasonal turkey and cranberry sandwich while my friend had the duck wrap. My sandwich was really good and I would get it again if I have the chance. I traveled last year here from LA, and can I just say it was the best place I went to during my trip. I traveled around Europe trying all type of food and please believe me when I say this spot is probably the only one that made an impact in my life. The other day I must have stood there for twenty minutes deciding what I wanted. Pret has so many options (some would say too many) to choose from. Did I want the ham and cheese sandwich? Ham and pickle? Ham and tomato? Just when you think you have your mind made up and go to purchase your food, you are confronted with limitless pastry/snack/coffee options. I am generally not a fan of big chain cafes and grab and go places but Pret A Mangr changed that for me. I tried a handful of different sandwiches during my trip and all of them tasted great and fresh. My favorite was the chicken pesto sandwich. It is a great place for those touring around town to be able to go in and grab a good sandwich and continue on with your activities for the day. Highly recommend! read more

Pret have the most consistent quality of fresh ingredients, and some nice little innovative products like their no-bread sandwiches and the single pret (for those who only want half a sandwich). Pret a Manger is great coffee chain that has some really affordable prices. Their sandwiches are great and they are made of lots of fresh ingredients. There are sandwiches for all people, from all walks of life. Including sandwiches for vegetarians specifically. This branch isn't very packed as there are a few near by in more densely crowded areas. ALSO the staff here is friendly and helpful. I admit that their food is a bit more expensive than other similar sandwich chains but it is also of much higher quality and for a few extra pennies you do get much higher quality food. Overall: A great store, if the prices were cheaper I would have rated it a 5-star. read more

Our favorite spot to eat for a quick, reasonably priced meal. It's also conveniently located near our hotel (The Park Lane) so we've been stopping here for breakfast the last few mornings. We love their croissants and porridge (with sliced banana!) and spend no more than 10 pounds for the two of us. Sometimes we'll buy a couple of their packaged sandwiches (3-4 pounds each) for lunch later. They also have desserts like chocolate mousse, banana cake, lemon cake, etc. These are around 2-3 pounds. But anyway, it is what it is, and there wouldnt be Pret on every street corner if they werent doing something right. As with all Pret stores you know what you are going to get, good fresh food, cooked and made on the premises, coffee is good, especially if you like it strong. I love their pastries warm from the oven and the Super Club is not for the fainthearted. Piccadilly branch is quite large and busy but you never queue for long. read more

Prêt a Manger is a nice café type place which serves nice food at a slightly higher rate. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and it's a great meet up place for ladies who want to do lunch or a place to grab a quick bite to eat. They take the time and consideration to make sure that their food is of good standard and quality which is why they have such a good reputation. They have a vast selection of coffees and sandwiches which won't disappoint! I recommend them as they cater to many different people and also have a vegetarian menu and a slim menu. read more

I'm probably in here 4 or 5 times a week. Although the menu doesn't change that much, the sandwiches, soups and wraps are all so good that you can eat them hundreds of times before getting bored.
