I've come to Paul Mitchell on and off for many years now. Typically, it was for affordable hair…read morecoloring and haircuts. The only thing in having thicker hair and wanting vibrant colors (reds/burgundies) is it becomes an all-day process. Come in at 10 am and leave their shop by 5 pm, so I haven't been many years for hair coloring services. Recently I came in for a haircut and enjoyed the conversation that I had with the student and she took her time and took great care with my hair. During this time I learned that there are fashion colors available and typically it can range for around $80, when I reach out to salons I'm told they start at $120 and up, so this was great news. Recently I learned that they now have nail services, and so my mom and I went to check them out. It was $20 for spa pedicure regular polish, the spa consists of a large bowl that your feet are placed in, not the actual spa chairs like in the nail salons. I did notice the student was very attentive to each step. The only thing is that their polish colors are limited in colors. There was a bunch of bright colors, so I opted for black which I typically would not choose but it was one of the few dark colors available. They had these color samples on a ring, but I was told they may not have the colors available. But if looking for something that is affordable where you have a good cushioning of time, I think this is a great school to utilize!

I use the Paul Mitchell School because I'm from out of town visiting and don't know where else to…read morego. This week was the second time for a blowout. On the positive side, it is very inexpensive--$5 plus tip for blowout. On the negative side, one never knows who will do your hair since the stylists rotate out. The first time, the stylist was great. Yesterday, not so great. I had to ask my stylist for more head massage as I barely felt her fingers on my scalp during the wash. Even with the ask, it was very much less than desirable. For the blowout, I didn't get what I asked which was blow straight back with volume. She parted my hair and blew out flat. One side was not blown out smooth but left frizzy. I'm not the type to ask for a redo plus I had already spent enough time there so I just left and figured I would touch up the blowup myself at home. Also, it took over an hour for a blowout. My professional at home gives me a haircut and blowout in an hour, and I love it. I did tip the stylist because it was the right thing to do not because I loved the result. Hopefully the styles will gain a lot more experience before she begins working professionally. An instructor does not check the work. I actually wondered if there were any instructors at the school. So bottom line do not expect experienced hairstyles at the school as they are all students with little and varying levels of experience. You might luck out or you might not.

The students are fine and you're likely to make some friends. The education is good and they have plenty of extra curriculum classes. And overall you will get what the average student is looking for in a school.

From a senior who has been here since the lockdown, don't send your kid to this school. Sure, I…read morehave had wonderful teachers here, but it honestly sucks. If you complain to the principal over serious issues, he doesn't care, he doesn't even respond to you. There was a code yellow like last year and it should've been a code red cause people brought weapons on property and they wanted to cover it up. Other students and myself are the only reason parents got a call the NEXT day about it. There's too many details to share here. Even today I am terrified when the announcements sound comes over the speakers if it is at a random time. Many people at our school are aware of the stoners and vapers and they don't do anything about it. It's so bad that you can't go into certain bathrooms because those are the 'smoke spots'. As I did mention, I have had some wonderful teachers, so it just sucks that I have to complain about the teachers here as well. For this one teacher, in context (which doesn't make it much better) we talked about humanistic psychology and a criticism of it is that they are over accepting. Basically the teacher stated that "so if you ___ 4 year olds." Yeah, we all looked at each other disgusted like "Did he really say that? That's disgusting." That same teacher has also made very rude and snarky remarks to students. A very very controlling person. Some days I don't wanna go to school because I'm scared he'll make remarks about me and humiliate me in front of the class, he's already done it to me. After lunch, I think based on my experience, the upstairs bathrooms are a hit or miss because they are either locked all class period during 3rd period or open after 20 minutes. So if you really need to use it, Aunt Flo has arrived, or whatever, you're screwed until the end of the day if you're lucky enough to get to a bathroom. Honestly, if you want better education for your kids: go somewhere else. Maybe even go to Finland. Overall, can't wait to graduate because this has been a rollercoaster if the rollercoaster was barely on the track, had no seatbelts, and was on fire. Edit: Another thing, they just told us a week ago that we could be staying till 4:30pm for the exam, which would be ok, IF they told us like a month ago. So now the teacher basically said to just take that day off from work, for students who work, when it is probably too late to say anything. But the problem is, I have an off campus that day (which I worked s hard to get) and the purpose for that off campus is to help my dad because of medical issues. They literally told me I can't do anything about it so now I have to figure out 1. How to get home 2. Where to put my stuff 3. How my dad will get the help he needs.
