Wonderful fresh pretzels to satisfy your salt-craving. The mini-pups are made to order and take about 10 minutes- call ahead so that they are ready when you arrive! They are essentially little wieners wrapped in pretzel dough. The perfect amount of pretzel to dog ratio. The cheddar cheese is also a wonderful accompaniment to the pretzels. if mini-pups aren't your thing, they also have 3 different types of full-sized dogs wrapped in pretzels to choose from. I think they have a chicken dog, regular hot dog, and cheddar dog. The table full of different mustards is definitely my husband's favorite thing about this place- they even have to-go containers so that you can grab your spicy/grainy/yellow mustard to eat at home. read more

My family and I tried Pretzels Boys this weekend. It's located in a strip mall in Sunset Hills. Small store with just a stand up counter in the window for eating. But that was plenty of space for us to chow down on our Pretzel Pups. Big, meaty hotdogs surrounded by their signature pretzel dough, lightly seasoned with sea salt. Hubby had a Pretzel Brat. Also very good especially dipped in the variety of mustards they offer. Pretzels, called softies, come in 2 figure 8 shaped twists that are connected. Their pretzels were soft but crunchy and served warm. I would've like just a little more salt and seasoning in my pretzel. They also sell pretzel nuggets and party sized pretzels. I LOVE these pretzels. I remember eating gus' when I was little and then moved away, and whenever I came back to visit went straight there, but, as an adult they are just a bit tough and salty for me. These however...these are pretzel perfection, and THE JALAPENO CHEESE...OMG! The pretzel bites are also delish, these are not as tender as the full size, but I love the consistency of these. It seems mostly designed for large catering-type orders (when we came, a company had ordered 1,200 pretzels for an event which were waiting to be picked up) as well as pick-up and grab-and-go orders. Seems like a great place to grab some pretzels to take to eat somewhere else - there really isn't too much incentive to stay and eat the pretzels here. Pros: -They seem to use a non-standard "shape" for their pretzels. This includes a whole lot less "crossing over" of the dough, so the texture and crunchiness seems to be even all the way through. I didn't have any super-hard chunks in my pretzels like the other way of folding dough seems to occasionally result in. -Pretzels were served warm. They cooled quickly, but if you sealed up the paper bag, it'll help keep it warm. -Location is very new and modern-feeling. Lots of parking as well. No problem parking or getting here. -Very good prices. Pretzel Boy's also offers lots of pretzel options to choose from. Choose bites or full-size pretzels or meats wrapped in pretzel bread, and lots of other choices. -Pretzel Boy's makes and sells cheeses which are perfect for dipping. Each one of the cheeses comes packaged with a lid to allow it to stay in the cup for to-go orders. They have a Jalepeno cheese dip (which isn't super hot. More like a not-mild white cheddar dip with a noticeably hot taste to it), an American cheese dip, and a cheddar one. All of the dips we tried were amazing and totally worth it. -You can watch the staff make the pretzels. It's all on clear display behind the ordering counter. Cons: -Pretzels are relatively tasteless. They don't have much of an overarching taste to them. This leaves them as blank canvases which are perfect for the cheeses that Pretzel Boy's offers. The cheeses are absolutely amazing. -No restrooms. Don't expect to pee here. -Don't really expect to eat here, either. This place is designed to grab and go. There is a small table along the window, but there are no chairs or any other tables. Either stand and eat or take your food to go. Definitely would come back. There's nothing really to update, even though I'm only more in love with the pretzels and the location. The staff is always amazingly super friendly, courteous and super efficient. This place should be called Super Pretzel Boy!!!! Though there are the standard twist, you can order them in different shapes sizes letters for any occasion. Prices are really affordable, generally servings, and a very abundant mustard bar flavor selection, no up charge. There are condiment containers for your fill and go experience. Though I have not indulged in this ambrosia in a few weeks, the memory of taking that first bite into the pretzel brat haunts my memories like a long lost love. They have dogs, brats, sausages to choose from. Promising not to disappoint. No wimpy flimsy filling. Holy crap if only could bottle the flavors that tantalize your taste buds when you sink your teeth into any of them, they could sell it as fragrance and be famous!! OK, so I sound a like a little girl at the fair, but honestly this is how the pretzel make me feel.... Giddy. Yup, giddy and they will make you giddy as well. My husband and i were running errands at a nearby fish store and stumbled upon this little pretzel shop in the same strip of businesses. I was so hungry and was sad to see the store closed at 4pm and it was of course...4pm. I was walking back to my car when a young girl ran out the door and offered to get me some food from what they still had left for the day. I was soooo grateful! She never seemed annoyed that i was there after hours and helped me choose a chicken sausage pretzel dog and pretzel bites with cheddar cheese. I was impressed that this came from a staff of teenagers which I'm sure didn't want to stay any longer at their job than they needed to on a weekend. Pretzel Boys is a place you don't want to pass up. Their pretzels are amazing. Both the "softies" and the pretzel bites are delicious. They have the perfect flavor and just the right amount of salt. Once I did try the cheddar cheese from there with the pretzels and did not think it was great. In fact, two of my friends were with me that time and they didn't like the cheese either. However, the pretzels are so good that no cheese is needed with them. Every time I have gotten pretzels from this place they are served fresh and hot. I'm so happy that Pretzel Boy's opened a second STL location closer to my house! I stopped by for a snack soon after they opened. The store is similar to the Des Peres location - small but with friendly workers. You can get nuggets, pretzels, pretzel dogs, etc. They have homemade cheese sauces (American, cheddar or jalapeño) and offer a variety of mustards as well as soda and Kaldi's coffee. Everything is yummy and fresh! They open early many days so you can stop on your way to work. They offer party platters or boxes of pretzels, which is a crowd pleaser. This is one of the few places in STL that is 100% nut free from the factory level. It makes us be able to get them to serve at school without worries. I highly recommend this place. read more

Me and my boyfriend stopped by Seascape studio right next-door of this place to get some salt water stuff and we were both kind of hungry so we decided to give this place a try. So we walked in and there's about six teenagers working and we asked them for their advice of what's good and none of them even answered us at all. Zero personality just standing there bored out of their mind. We ended up getting a plain pretzel vs walking out and it was very dry and hard. The cut it off a huge piece in the window. I have come in to just get nuggets or pretzels --which are delicious, and I have also ordered various pretzel designs. The last pretzel design I received is what is prompting me to write this review. I had inquired about creating a design in pretzel of the Masters tournament logo. I had many employees assisting, researching to make sure it was how I had desired it to look, and very willing to make it work. On a rainy Saturday after some hardworking craft fair walking, we passed Prezel Boy's. I'm like hey sister I have that bookmarked on yelp to try. My sister from another mister does a quick u-turn cause she's a sucker for anything bread. We walk in and see lots of to go orders coming and going. Plus their racks were full with prepared pickups for later in the day. I'm thinking ok so the pretzels must stay relatively soft? I ordered a bag of nuggets and a pup (aka hot dog in a pretzel) based on the cashiers preference over the brats. We added both cheddar and white/jalapeno cheese for dipping. Got our order and were instant fans of everything but the jalepeno cheese. Just skip it no flavor. However, if you're not a fan of cheese they have plenty of free honey mustard (absolutely delish) and a variety of spicey, horseradish, yellow mustards etc to choose from and with to go cups. That's what I'm talking about! We ate a couple of bags sitting there with our nephew who scarfed them down. The turnout is quick, the crew was friendly, but they could wipe down the tables a lil more often. Next time I need to ask for no salt. Hope that's an option. Prices are great in my opinion. Will make great convenient cheap party snacks IMO. read more
